All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
I'm very much a city girl, so I'd love to live in some sort of downtown location. Or at least somewhere near a mall, where I go to waste time inordinately.
Number one on my priority list is comfort. I'd like lots of places to sit on, rest on, even fall asleep on, all around my house, like seats and couches and bean bags. Dim yellow lights and muted wall colors also add to the relaxed, sleepy feel; no white and bright hospital-like lights for me. But I also want a place that does not seem at all stuffy, so no overly stuffed mattresses or ornate furniture. And nice big windows would be great, too!
I'm also quite the packrat, so lots of shelves and pretty boxes to keep my things in would be great. Ideally I'd like a library or even just a reading room to keep all my books in.
Randomly, I also like bathrooms with plants. I get the feeling that the bathroom is much cleaner for it!

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
a. Knives and large sharp objects in general. I attribute this to having seen the Child's Play movie way back when I was 3 or 4. (On a related note I am also very much afraid of Chuckie the doll.) Anyway, I don't like people pointing sharp pointy things at me, even as a joke.
b. That feeling of total disconnection. Solitude is wonderful and a requirement on many days, but I can't be totally isolated for too long or I'll go crazy. Someone has to be a text message or an IM away, at least. I guess it's because I'm a clingy person, and I like to keep (certain) people close.
c. Failure. Because I am insecure and everything has to work out according to plan. I just crumble every time I mess up at work, on my relationships, at things I have to do.

3. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
a. It's funny, but I wish I could have enough money to buy all the clothes I want. Haha! I've been wanting to change my style for a while but I'm limited by my finances. I can't buy a new wardrobe just like that so I have to stick to building it slowly, instead of my ideal situation wherein I remove huge piles of clothing from my closet and replace them with others in one go.
b. I wish I could travel. My family isn't the traveling type, so I haven't been to many places, in and out of the country. I'd love to go all around the Philippines, and all around Asia and Europe as well.
c. I wish I had some sort of, I don't know, talent. Haha. I'm not someone who does any sort of skill well, like art or music or writing, and having any one of those would make me happier about myself.

4. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Probably my proudest accomplishment as of now was actually finishing undergrad last year. It was a spectacular feeling, knowing that I finished a course I love (Psychology) from a school I had always dreamed of being in.

5. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
Most important would be Love, as it is good at being both an end and a means to end, in many of life's aspects. You can do many things by striving for Love or by being supported by people who love you.
Least important would be... Adventure. It's something that is much better appreciated in small doses, as a break in a routine, instead of as a norm.

6. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
"Almost dead yesterday, maybe dead tomorrow, but alive, gloriously alive, today." - Mat Cauthon, from the Wheel of Time
I'm also a whore for the WoT series, and Mat is my favorite character there.
But answering the question, I like this quote very much because it reflects on my being a present-oriented person. Sure, I like to look back, and it's important to me to plan ahead and make goals, but what's important to me is dealing with the here and now, one day at a time.

7. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
I just started working around half a year ago, and I'm still getting used to managing this much money. I have more money now than I know how to deal with, so I try to save at least half my semi-monthly pay for emergencies and big purchases, and I use the other half for regular expenses, like transportation and groceries.
Financial security is very important to me. I need a stable source of money just so I know that I'm not, erm, poor.

8. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
I like to read. Always have, always will. Mostly I like fantasy and sci-fi, but recently I've been reading books that are... slightly more realistic. I say slightly because I wouldn't actually call Haruki Murakami's novels and Neil Gaiman's American Gods realistic.
I've been trying to get back into playing video games, but I can never seem to find the time. If I had more hours in a day, I'd replay JRPGs I've tried before and never finished and try out more WRPGs. But yeah, I still consider this a hobby.
I like to waste time on the Internet. Facebook is a time-sucker.
Aaand I like to hang around my friends or with the boyfriend. We aren't the most outgoing set of people, so we just like sitting around, eating, talking, playing the occasional board game or watching the odd movie.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
BEST:
a. I'm loyal to my loved ones. Like I said, I'm clingy.
b. I do learn from my mistakes. I always reflect on what I've done wrong and I do my best to change it.
c. I'm easy to talk to. I can be shy, but I have plenty of things to talk about (or so I think!).
WORST:
a. I am very insecure. About my looks, about my skills, about myself in general. I always feel the need to compare myself to other people.
b. I'm neurotic, and not in a good way. I get stressed easily, I panic, I'm moody. I am not at all a calm person, and I get very emotional very quickly.
c. I'm passive-aggressive. I find it hard to tell people things they need to know straight up. I also find it hard to express my feelings directly.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
a. Tyrion! He knows his flaws and limits and knows how to work with them. He is also cunning and he knows the best way to get ahead.
b. Sansa. Haha, seriously! The way she hides behind the lessons about being a lady that her mother and septa have taught her has saved her ass many times in this series. This makes her, to me, flexible, a person who adapts to her situation.
c. Jaime. Because he's not the one-track character that you think he is at first. You actually see him grow up and make different decisions after he loses his hand. Like Sansa, he is someone who knows how to adapt.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
a. Gregor. Because he BASHED IN A BABY'S HEAD AND RAPED THE MOTHER AFTER. And now he's a ZOMBIE. D:
b. Lysa. Littlefinger > her sister, seriously? What kind of thinking is that? And she is probably the worst mother in the series, worse than Cersei.
c. Joffrey. Our royal douchebag. HE KILLED NED *sob*

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
When Tyrion killed Tywin while the latter was on the privy. Simply because I don't think I'd ever find this situation in another fantasy series! And Tywin's and Joffrey's deaths added a great change to the King's Landing political landscape, as seen in AFFC.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
Daenerys on the Iron Throne, to return Westeros to stability and put a halt to the politicking.
A Stark in Winterfell; GRRM needs to stop killing Starks. Yet I would be glad to see the end of not-Catelyn as well! Just kill her outright, no need to magically bring her to life.
Jon staying on as LCC of the Night's Watch even after learning about his parents (who are plausibly Rhaegar and Lyanna, but nothing's for sure!).
Tyrion as Hand.
Funnily, I'd like to see Cersei survive all this; it'd be nice to mock her to the end of her days.
Also, DRAGONS. To burn all the Others. Or to just look badass.

I kind of want to claim you for my own house. But, hmm, fear of failure and insecurity could totally be a Targaryen quality. That's a big burden to bear. And I think you could be like wee little Dany, before she marries Drogo.

Stark

[identity profile] minviendha.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I also want to take you home with me. D: And that, combined with your best and worst traits and fear of loneliness - hell, I'm going to. Stark, also the fear of failure, and actually the passive-agressive and neurotic too. Hee.

(also woooo Wheel of Time woooo!~)

Stark

[identity profile] pyoska.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm.

Hmmm.

You sound Tyrellish to me.

Tyrell

[identity profile] greyfable.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm. The fear of knives thing and your general sense of practicality is making me think Stark or Tully. The comment about needing someone to be a text message away swayed me towards Tully - I think you need to like loneliness just a little more to be a Stark. ;)

By the way, I expect some fanfic and/or fanart from you! I bet you're far more talented than you think. Fandom is a great place to experiment with that kind of stuff. It's fun, the stakes are low, and we always appreciate more goodies :)

Tyrell. Like, through and through -- the first Tyrell vote in a long time that I'm not the least bit doubtful or conflicted about. Insecurity may seem like an odd trait for a Tyrell, but it's not that unusual, and the rest of your app is just bursting with Tyrellishness -- your wishes (clothes! talent! that's Tyrell in a nutshell for you :P), ranking Love first and Adventure last, your best traits, that "alive today" quote. One of us! :D

Targaryen

[identity profile] fairly-contrary.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Tyrell. To Highgarden with all its comforts and close family ties and charming, charming people you go. You ought to fit right in.

Tully

[identity profile] skyclearblue.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You might be a Tyrell or a Lannister, except for your insecurity with yourself (these houses are nothing if not self-assured!) and your neuroses (of which a Lannister would boast and which no Tyrell would admit to having, haha). You might be a Stark, except (as [livejournal.com profile] greyfable pointed out) you don't quite enjoy solitude enough.

So come join the wartrouts! Tully pride! Loyalty, flexibility, holding adventure at a practical distance, loving love...yeah.

PS. I also enjoy reading Murakami. :)

Martell

[identity profile] lunylucy.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 07:34 pm (UTC)(link)
My first thought was Tyrell (with a side of Lannister maybe) and I'm sticking with that. You have a taste for luxury, you like being connected with people almost at all times (hello Margaery's crowd of cousins following her everywhere?).

And unrelated, but we seem to have very similar wishes for how the series should end :D Except I want Cersei dead. I think she'll be trouble otherwise no matter what you do to her.

Martell

[identity profile] angerfish.livejournal.com 2010-02-01 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Seeing quite a bit of Tyrell here!

[identity profile] odeocowboys.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm actually getting Tully vibes from you.

Greyjoy

[identity profile] odeocowboys.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
And there I go forgetting my house name.

Stark

[identity profile] amaelgreenleaf.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
I agree with what [livejournal.com profile] lunylucy has said. Tyrell with Lannister on the side. It was moreso that Lannister was as not prominent as Tyrell -- what with insecurity & being passive aggressive. (Cersei passive agressive? Stop the world now! LOL) You also have a bit of Stark in you, but to me you're an easy-going Tyrell.

Targaryen

[identity profile] roguebelle.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I definitely feel Tyrell. You remind me of one of the cousins, with the focus on being around people and your urban-girl qualities.

Stark

[identity profile] horitsu-kami.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
As much as I want to take you home with me, you're not quite there. I'm voting Tully.

Lannister

[identity profile] thessalian.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
I see Tyrell all over this app.

Stark

[identity profile] gruselig.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd also love to claim you for the Starks, but I think [livejournal.com profile] lunylucy pegged you perfectly - Tyrell.

Tully

[identity profile] ender839.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Tyrell, for pretty much the exact same reasons as [livejournal.com profile] hamsterwoman. :)

Tyrell

[identity profile] aikodestiny.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Er, I honestly don't know. But since you put so much emphasis on a new wardrobe, I'll say house Sparkly Tyrell.

Lannister

[identity profile] tantdetentation.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, this may be out of left field, but I'm going to go with Greyjoy. Insecure, neurotic, afraid of failure? That's very Theon. On a happier note, I think the focus on the present as evidenced in your favorite quotation is a very Greyjoy one. And I think that however aggressive the Greyjoys are outwardly, their family power-jockeying is quite passive-aggressive in its way. AND you wish you could travel.

Lannister

[identity profile] coaldustcanary.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Money, fear of failure, highly social, liking Tyrion and Jaime best...yupyup. Lannister.

Tyrell

[identity profile] spamdilemma.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
I think Tyrell! Being present-oriented seems like a Tyrell-ish trait (pleasure boating y/y), especially in Westeros. Also, money for clothes as your first wish, hee.

Stark

[identity profile] ohcarousel.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I think Tully. You kinda remind me of a young (pre-crazy) Lysa.

Tully

[identity profile] loveweasleys04.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I got a lot of Sansa vibes throughout the application. The whole app is Tully/Stark like Sansa as well. Your quote reminds me of something a Stark would say. It's very much "Winter is Coming...". Of course I would be happy to have you in our house, but I just get more Stark from this application.

Tully

[identity profile] golden-d.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I see a lot of Tyrell.

Martell- Sex & Poison

[identity profile] jesatria.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I think you're a Tyrell. You appreciate luxury, like they do, & your desire to be surrounded by people reminds me of Margaery with her bevy of cousins. Your desire to live in the present & enjoy it fits them as well.

Greyjoy

[identity profile] haryan.livejournal.com 2010-02-03 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
actually i think you're a tully

Tyrell, definitely.

[identity profile] rohajavongareth.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm somewhat torn between Tyrell and Lannister in places while reading your application.

But in the end I think I'm going to say Lannister. In a good way, not in the crazy way. *g* You seem to have many qualities that I think of as the more positive qualities of that house. Yes, Lannisters do have positive qualities. *g*

Targaryen

I think you sound kind of Martell-y, with your desire to travel and your wish for money for clothes and putting love first and disliking solitude. I think those are kind of Martell-ish. Maybe? Or Tyrell-ish?
