Name: Nicole
How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is: It was through a search for asoiaf when I was looking for a community!
Age: 22
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Occupation: Student and Barista at a coffee house lol

All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!
Mine would be exactly as my family cottage is up north! Hidden away by trees, on the lake, cozy and warm inside with a fireplace and books to keep me company. I would have wild blueberry patches nearby, and sit out on the dock watching the scenery. Inside would have comfy chairs and a huge bay window that overlooks the lake. <3

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
Heights. I dont know what it is, I live in Toronto and will not go up the CN Tower if you paid me. I get vertigo by being on balconies, too.
Falling. The idea of not having control of where my next step is is probably where this -really- stems from.
Clowns. I dont know where it came from. I think it might be the painted faces, or something. It's just not right!

3. What is your favorite aspect of your physical appearance and why?
I would have to say my eyes. I know everyone says it, but mine tend to change colour depending on how I feel (or how tired I am) between green blue and grey.

4. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance, what would you change and why?
Lol, that just might have to be my legs. I've played a lot of sports growing up, and they're toned, but they're way too big for my liking.

5. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
My first wish would be for my family to be healthy, happy, and taken care of. It would take a lot of stress out of the equation.
My second wish would be for some of the problems with the environment to be solved. I know it sounds corny, but it's true!
My third wish would be for a trip to Europe, I haven't been outside of the country, so I think a trip like that would be interesting, if not thrilling.

6. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Honestly? Im almost done college (One course left!), Im looking at the prospect of going through another program, and it makes me proud of that. I feel like I've been doing something with my life so far and am on my way to doing more!

7. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?
Family and Friendship are most important. They're to be with you 'till the end, and mean so much as a support system in peoples lives. They can go interchangeably as well, extending ties and bonds. The least important to me would have to be Money. It's important, but not the be all and end all to life.

8. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?
"Courage, my friends; 'tis not too late to build a better world." -Tommy C. Douglas
I don't know how to explain it, it just explains what I stand for!

9. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?
I'd like to say I'm amazing at it, but unfortunately, I'm not. I see it as essential, but does not mean happiness or the end of the world. What you lose, you can get back with hard work and preserverance.

10. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
I read like I breathe, all the time. It can be anything, but I lean more towards the fantasy genre. I also love to go on hikes and bike rides through the woods, they put me back in touch with nature and clear my head. I also knit, albeit poorly, and watch old movies on TCM when Im absolutely bored. They bring me back to a time when men were men and the ladies were ladies.

11. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).
Loyal. I am extremely loyal to the people that gain my trust, who are my family and friends. It's hard to gain it, but once it's there, you have it for good!
Agreeable. I have a tendency to be cooperative and compassionate to others.
Creative. Im always told Im creative, and I like to think I agree. I can come up with the oddest but most fitting way to solve things and create things both physically and hypothetically.

The worst are:
Introverted. Im rather introverted at the best of times, I like to keep to myself and not be 'out there', as much.
Stubborn. Once I've made up my mind, you can't change it unless the answer is right infront of me proving me wrong.
Consciencious. Im conscienceous almost to a fault. I always have to be sure of exactly what Im doing and dont act on impulse unless provolked.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Which is your favorite book of the series so far? What about your least favorite?
My favorite is A Storm of Swords, it made me react the most to everything that happened in it. My least favourite might be a Feast for Crows, if I -had-
to pick.

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series?
Ned Stark, even though he died, he tried to do what was best. Jaime Lannister, although at one point I would never admit to it, he has changed the most and developed so well. I would also have to say Jon Snow, for all of the changes he's had to face.

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series?
Walder Frey, the lying, cheating, and betraying did it for me. Stannis Baratheon, rightful king he may be, I dont like him, he's too cold. Littlefinger. I don't like his obsession with Sansa and Catelyn. Quite frankly, it creeps me out.

4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?
The end of A Storm of Swords made me jump out of my chair!

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?
The characters I don't like to get their due justice lol.

Your application gave me a general Sansa vibe, so I'm gonna say House Stark. Winterfell is quite close to your ideal home, and all of your best and worst qualities seem very Stark to me. And this : when men were men and the ladies were ladies is very Sansa-ish, as is your quote.

Tyrell

Stark -- your positive and negative traits, your ideal home, the active idealism of your quote, your favorite and least favorite characters all make me think of House Stark.

Targaryen. Of course you can disagree with me. I might only burn you for it. ;P

Oh another one! Is this the day of the Puppie invasion? :PPP

Stark it is for you. Your ideal home and your personal traits both positive and negative, your favourite and least favourite character, the quote, all of it actually makes you a fluffy wolf pup ;-)

Off to the north with you! :P

Okay... honestly, I did not get enough of a vibe for any house from you :/ I feel bad for it because I did see glimmers of Stark and maybe even a little Tyrell - but there wasn't enough for me to conclude either way. So I'm going to have to say No Vote because there just wasn't enough here for me.

Lannister

Yet another Stark? Craziness. Your qualities are all screaming Stark to me (conscientious, introverted, loyal) and your desire for "justice" at the end also makes me think of those righteous direwolves.

Tyrell

[identity profile] cyshobbitlass.livejournal.com 2008-06-26 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I can definitely see why people are voting you as a Stark but I saw you as a complete Tully. You're loyal, stubborn, don't like towers (which are all over Winterfell!), intorverted (which could mean a somewhat supportive role, like a Tully), hate the Freys and your home sounded a bit like Riverrun to me.

Targaryen

[identity profile] ol-whatsername.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I'm gonna have to with Stark with as well for pretty much the same reasons the other Stark votes stated.

Martell

I'm getting some Stark vibes from you. One of the more chill ones. :D

Stark - the pack survives, and how!

Yeah, family, courage, introversion, loyal, stubborn, conscientious, just, perseverant, I can see the Tully but I'm going with Stark again, I think the introversion tips me that way. I agree that your TCM thing reminds me a bit of Sansa, and the falling thing fits Bran.

Could definitely go either way, but I'll say Tully, for exactly the reasons [livejournal.com profile] cyshobbitlass gave. Stubbornness and introversion can both be Tully or Stark, and family focus is really a Tully thing. And yeah, you'd be miserable at Winterfell, with all the high towers. ;-)

House Tyrell

[identity profile] aikodestiny.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'll go with Tully too, your introversion and attachment to your family is definitely Tully-ish, and your stubborness reminds me of many characters from that House.

[identity profile] thedls-sword.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I got both Tully and Tyrell vibes from you, but most of all you felt like a Stark.

You're loyal and stubborn and like the north. You also like the woods, which made me think of Ned and his visits to the God forest.

Oh and if you do go to Europe, feel free to drop in and eat dinner some day.

I vote Stark on this one too

Stark

[identity profile] horitsu-kami.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Loyal, stubborn, liking the woods (I would SO have a Godswood if I could get away with it)... all in all, your application says to me that you are a Stark.

[identity profile] supremacy-born.livejournal.com 2008-06-28 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Again, I'm seeing the Tully here, especially in your qualities. I hardly imagine a Stark being overly cooperative and agreeable with others.. but a Tully might be, especially when it comes to the matters of family, because they seem to dislike arguments more than anything. It's to Tully with you, in my opinion!

SORTED: STARK

[identity profile] deeplyunhip.livejournal.com 2008-06-29 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)

Congratulations! After receiving four votes for Tully, you have officially been sorted into House Stark with twelve votes!
