All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
Oh, that would be diffucult. Since I may be quite whimsical and demanding while not really knowing what I want.
For a start, there would be little people in my ideal home. I have a big family - more than simply 'big', actually - and they are dear to me, but I feel uncomfortable being constantly at the presense of others. And home should be a place to relax and recharge.
Of cource, my ideal home would have book closets in every corner. As many as needen to fit all my books, books of my family and those I lent from my not-quite-so-reading friends.
I like high places and big cities, where you can get lost in the crowd - surrounded by people and pretty much alone at the same time. This is an amazing feeling, which you can't really get in small towns.

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
First and most important is people. No, I'm not joking. Humans are each others best support and worst enemies. Homo homini lupus est. What I absolutely hate is when people see fit to judge others after a couple of glances.
So, choose your social circle carefully, lest they stab you in the back. I'm pretty confident with my friends though.
Second, as strange it may be is heights. I am drawn to them - yet my organism insists it is a bad idea. When climbing high enough, I simply lose any idea of balance, which is dangerous and everything. All the same, I keep loving high places for some reason.
Third would be losing. Losing anything - be it my own will, people dear to me. We value things only after they are lost to us, or so the saying goes. I try to value them before that, but I doubt it works.

3. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
Oh, first and last wish would be simple. If I could have enough money to stop worrying about it, it would have been enough for me, since our world is money-oriented and measured. That way I could proceed with whatever I want: take up art, continue my social studies, read books, listen to music and such. I could learn a great many things that I probably would never put to good use just for the sake of knowing them.
I definetely wouldn't ask for a great love to come my way or happiness. Those are things noone can give you on a silver platter, you either build them yourself or ruin them and have nothing at all. I believe that I can make my own life, whatever it will be in the end.

4. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Accomplishment? That would be difficult. My acceptance to a large and respected univercity would be The Accomplishment for the society, but I somehow doubt it. I didn't put much effort into this, actually.
My own accomplishment in this would be rather decision to take up social studies, which was mine and mine alone. Everyone around was rather surprised, to be frank. Considering I took some hardships to get there and lost a year of school for that, I think that would be the thing.
That, and the fact that I graduated from music school (how do you call them in English? hell if I know) despite my hesitation and open resentfulness in earlier years.

5. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
Among most important I would list Knowledge and Family\Friendship since last two are inseparable to me. My friends are my family - sometimes even closer. Adventure is nice, but only in doses. You really can't do whatever springs in your head all the time.
Money is simply a way of getting what you want. A tool, not a value in its own right.
Pleasure... is important I concede. But I could live without it. Being happy and being content are different things, and I'm sure I could live with the latter. Besides, there is always Duty, as a contrast to Pleasure. And Duty always wins, especially if you are raised in a big family.
Last left is Love. I'm not sure what should fall under that category. Platonic and familial love would fall under Family and Friendship, right? Then that leaves only romantic love, which is according to my beliefs not really important. There are things lika a temporary fling, a schoolgirl crush, overactive hormones and such. And people tend to change - either with time or when you come closer. Person you love may not be what you thought he is, and it's nobody's fault.
Either way, romantic love comes and passes - friends stay.

6. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
"Do as thou wilt." Not sure where it came from though.
Think hard before you plan you actions. If you decided, then do it. Keep your word. So, don't make promises lightly.

7. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
Money? That's a hard one again. Usually I try not to spend them on unnecessary things, but sometimes it just happens that I need that new book, or a ticket to a concert. And then regret it later - I could have gotten something useful!

8. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
Reading. People say I read too much. Nearly killed my eyesight on that. I read during breaks, in buses and underground and sometimes (when a new book is too engrossing) even on the go.
Drawing. I never got any formal education, although some said I should have, so my doodles are just doodles to pass time.
Music. I lister to nearly everything - excluding modern pop scene. The last time I've watched MTV had been three (I think) years ago. But, that aside, I listen mostly to rock, sometimes metal - especially with nice female vocal, ethno, instumental, OSTs and whatever comes my way.
Gaming. Sometimes it gets the best of me and I can discuss strategis for hours. My favorite genres are strategy and RPG. Although I'm not really keen on action, but Devil May Cry is the best slasher I've ever seen.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
1. I care for people. I've heard once that I put others' business before everything and neglect myself. I don't quite agree, but that's what opinion is.
2. I'm pretty good with absorbing new information. People around me sometimes can't understand, how can remembering different unrelated things can be intresting. But I vote for knowing for the sake of knowing. It gives you a broader picture of the world and gets handy at unexpected times.
3. When I'm absorbed with some business, I'll work until I collapse. Get me intrested, and I'll get it done - if I don't lose interest in the process.

Now, for bad qualities. I really have many to choose from.
1. I am unbalanced. Emotionally as well. I'm easy aggravate and not-quite easy to lighted up.
2. I am lazy. "What is not tommorrow, is always later."
3. I don't work well with people. To get some group project done, I'd have to do it with people I know I am compatible with. Otherwise, nothing will be done, or (this happened on several occasions) I'll do the whole project myself and then we'll pretend it was group action.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Unmistakably Arya. For reasons unknown, as well as the Stark family in general. Tyrion, probably. From some point - Jaime, Jon and Beric(don't ask me about him. I've been fascinated for some time now with men devoted to an Idea, since I myself am unable to be). From new ones - Arianne and Doran, I think. Maybe Genna Lannister.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Strange, but Daenerys. I just can't seem to understand the way she thinks. I can understand her desire to have Westeros - although I've never understood lust for power. Power is responsibility, and that's too troublesome for me.
What I don't understand is her obsession with Seven Kingdoms. "Most beautiful land", how naive. Even though she technically has the rights to claim it.

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
Difficult one. I tend to like characters until they do something I'm averse to. Hence, I like nearly everything. I'll have to re-read the series to pick favorites.
For now let it be Oberyn's duel with Gregor and Meera's story about the Knight of the Laughing Tree.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
Oh, I have too many acceptable endings. Having Dany rule with iron fist would be nice - Seven KIngdoms need a centralised rule - but I would be equally content to see her dying a heroic death. But Winterfell will be restored, no matter what they say.
It would be intresting for Sansa to remain married to Tyrion, though. She's come a long way, and he just deserves peace. And a place to return to.
Dorne will get their revenge. Not sure how, but they will.
It will be intresting to see what comes of Arya in the end. It is a given that she'll return to Westeros in time for most intresting parts. What happens after is what interests me the most. She certainly isn't the type to settle down - more like 'live fast, die in glory'. Would be fun to see her return to roaming Westeros or Free Cities before returning to North for good - she'll be something like girl-Oberyn minus bastard kids.

Hey there, could you press edit (http://www.livejournal.com/editjournal.bml?journal=westerosorting&itemid=89165) on your post, copy it and paste it in to the HTML editor instead of the rich text editor? This might help (http://i34.tinypic.com/30arwxl.gif).

Looks good, thank you!

I'm not really sure but I'm going to say Targaryen. I was actually thinking Tully up until your worst traits because people/family are so important to you.

[identity profile] greyfable.livejournal.com 2009-11-09 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I've been on the fence between Targaryen and Greyjoy. You have a harshness and cynacism that I associate more with Greyjoy, especially in your fears and in your quote, but they're lots of Targ in your best/worst qualities. I'll say Greyjoy wins by a small margin.

Privet! (I'm in the US now, but originally from Kiev -- so, former neighbor :)

You give off a really Starky vibe. Austere and desiring of solitude and duty-bound. But I can see some cooler-headed Targaryen in you as well. But this: "Power is responsibility, and that's too troublesome for me." -- definitely makes me pick Stark. Although, hmm, I could still see you as a Maester Aemon-type Targ.

Music school -- I think it's "conservatory" in English too.

And, yay, Genna love!

[personal profile] hamsterwoman 2009-11-09 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Приятно! А земляки точно, если считать что оба изначально из единого, могучего :)

Apparently what we're looking for is a preparotory school (for school-aged students), which is often part of a college-or-higher level conservatory. Or at least so Wikipedia suggests. Which would make sense, because I know a friend of mine studied in the same building that housed the conservatory of music while she was still in high school.

Genna is a woman who rules the household without being opressive.

Very true! And well noted about Cersei being rather the opposite -- oppressive without managing to hold on to actual power.

I agree with hamsterwoman; I think you're a Stark. Between the relative unconcern for power and pleasure, the introversion, and the overall sense of modesty I get, you really do seem very Stark.

I can see why the Targ votes, in a Baelor the Blessed sort of way, but on the whole, your app says Stark to me.

Martell

Definitely a Stark.

Martell

[identity profile] ebonhost.livejournal.com 2009-11-10 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
You have a very Stark feel to you- love of reading, desire for isolation, and the love of heights reminds me of Bran before his fall. Also your healthy 'no thank you' to the responsibility that goes hand in hand with power- reminiscent of Eddard not wanting to be Robert's Hand.

I do not actually...quite see the Stark. Usually I see Stark where no one else does. I think my sorting-meter is faulty.

At any rate, I'm with one other person and going to say Greyjoy. You're a little bit more family/person oriented than I usually would say, but your worst qualities that you list, dedication, the pragmatism - your skepticism about people and the fact that your greatest accomplishment is 'yours and yours alone' - yeah, I'm convincing myself. Kraken for you.

Greyjoy

I actually agree with [livejournal.com profile] minviendha here. I see greyjoy

You are very Stark.

I think you're an Aemon sort of Targaryen given your hobbies and disinterest in power. And your personality traits: knowledge-seeking, compassionate (Aerys II aside!), emotional, seem overall dragon-y.

Tully

[identity profile] golden-d.livejournal.com 2009-11-12 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm with [livejournal.com profile] spamdilemma - I see a very Maester Aemon sort of Targaryen.

Oh, I think it's been a while since I've given any Greyjoy votes! I think you've got a lot of kraken-ish traits. "Make your own life" is not a phrase I'd associate readily with any of the other Houses.

I see a Tully/Stark mix. You seem sort of mild-mannered and calm, which makes me think of those two houses, and your dedication to family and duty is very Tully/Stark-like. I think your loner-ness and distrust of people might make you slightly more Stark-like, though. Your thoughts on Dany seem like they could come straight from Catelyn's mouth, though. Hm... torn...
