Win or Die? What about a third option oO???

How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is:
I can't say if she is...but the girl who sent me in is already a fellow member of an italian ASOIAF forum; so, maybe.
(She filed me one of your fanfics and i wanted more!! ^^)
Age:34

All About You

DISCLAIMER: english is not my native language (as you may have surmised from request 3 :P) so be patient with me and ask any rephrasing you need.

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
Kinda same of my actual location, but a good way south from here: a not-too-big/not-too-small city, on the sea (always!!) but i'd enjoy a little more heath and dry air.
Any coast of north Africa would do...well, without the ruckus and noise said cities normally have. I like my spaces and i love silence.
House: not-too-big/not-too small again, 1-floor only, no stairs, big tall windows, basically a single oversized room with some 'utility rooms' surrounding.
Is not really important if this 1-floor is *the first* (and single) floor of a whitewashed in-garden little house or the uppermost in a 16-levels skyscraper, but the
roof must be flat, accessible and MINE!

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
a) Heights.Ok, not-more-so-afraid as ten years ago (growing up is ALSO overrun your fears isn't it?);
But still i can't jump over Dolomites' little nasty 2-ridiculous-feet rents in my path if they have (as they have) several hundreds feets of vertical chasm underneath :(
2)Void. A difficult-explaining kind of inner void: once experimented, never again you'll catch me :P
3) Prisony. All kinds. Everywhere, always, and not only if mine...what there is to explain? I am *terrified* if i sense to be trapped, helpless, without escape and so on. and i don't like to imagine someone in the same predicament.

3. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can.
Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

mmm...difficult. But you ask for *true* answers so i should point out that
a)i am a very lucky person ^^.
b)i care little for anything i can achieve so, instantly, simply *asking*. These things don't last and don't have a great value enjoing them.
Mh. As i said, difficult question, so...
genius: 'what do you want?'
me (thinks and almost blurts out the answer): *nothing*
me (catches herself and uses some logic THEN answers) : 'first wish: i want the right to call you and ask for the others at any point in my life from now. You can never say...'

4. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
No trouble... i have no special deeds to choose among.
Oh ok, i read your instructions and i must strive to elaborate and be soooo long in writing.
Then: i can imagine some of the accomplishments one may put on an application form for a job: won prizes in school, yes. I always loved to study and it is *simple*.
Helped someone time and again (and it WAS actually satisfing oO. Strange);
but i feel not *proud* of this, it was...normal. oO

5. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
Most important: pleasure. Because pleasure comes from achieving each of the others exactly at the moment when you value they most, so it encompasses them all, and i want ALL.
I am greedy and knowledge, adventure and love (somewhen in the future)...sound so good all of them.
Family:i have and it has me, fully ^^. So it's not *important*, it is.
Less important: friendship and money: both soooo easy to gain so easy to lose, they are more of an in/out furniture in life than true buildings.

6. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
Sigh. It comes from a manga translation (i read it in italian!) so i can't quote it exactly, but in english could sound less or more as:
''because we choose what we want to be, and we became it, in wonder or in horror''
SO true OO.

7. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
How do you can possibly manage money oO? I have a job, i use my salary: what enters goes out; never am i at a loss and never have i too much to squander...normal management

8. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
(decreasing order of time employed)
1) go out to walk (preferably alone and along the beach): i need, and i love, to *move* after so many hours on a desk. Sometimes my photocamera or a book comes along.
2) go out to kwoon or swimpool: also moving, but it's focused moving and with some (chosen) people ^^.
3)browse the net for tv/anime series i missed when my job required too much time traveling. Then browse for related fanfic. Then draw every image all this triggers in my mind
4) cook, and eat!! Eh..*creative* cooking, so most of the times i alone dare test my creatures, before said anime series/fanfic on the floor with my laptop.
5)when it's possible :( ...go out at nights on telescopes with fellow members of local astronomy association.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
best: determinate: NEVER give in, never! truthful. very adaptive to changes and problems.
worst: stubborn. tactless. a bit rash at times ^^
yes, they SEEM to be the same qualities, only well- or mis-placed. Ok, the boundaries in real life are blurred sometimes...

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Och...i like so many of ASOIAF charachters. ok, i sign for the three i *supported till the end in death matches...*
Theon: Simply, i liked him from the start. Ok, i pitied him in a good measure (he WAS the loneliest and ill-luck of all the charachters in a long time) but all his wrong choices only endear him to me.
Petyr: one of the best almost-villan-but-not-so in fantasy. Clever, charming, quite-never caught off-hand...quite, his weakness keep him so human, and cute ^^.
I coud marry him if i'd value a little less for my health...
Mance Rayder. Yes. THIS is coherence. This is as you spend your life.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Barring the true madmans and beasts (gregor, biter, joffrey...they could plead for insanity so what's the point in hating/despising them):
1)Barristan Selmy: hypocrit. Soooo hypocrit. So useless and self-centered and judgmental when he CAN'T say a word. Bah.
2)Ramsay Snow: You. Monster. OO. At least daddy is an half-monster with style.
3)Robert Baratheon: woeful king, woeful husband, woeful father, most egoistic friend, careless boyfriend...you suck.

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
mmm...the THREE sounds of the horn are the most creeping lines in fantasy for the last years. But the lines of the Hound at the ferry are pure genius. As all his lines ^^
4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
i don't want an end...or at least, i want an open end. Not too many deaths so you can still imagine what all the pgs will do *after*.

Lol you beat me to it XD

Stark

[identity profile] ice-elf.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You love the sea, you're stubborn and adaptable, this just screams Greyjoy at me.

The fact you place Theon as a favourite character only convinces me more.

Targaryen

[identity profile] guad.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
yay a Mance fan! :DDD
Hmm I am actually getting a Stark vibe from you. No idea why.

Greyjoy

[identity profile] capnjameskirk.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I see Stark.

Tyrell

[identity profile] greyfable.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't understand where these Stark votes are coming from. I could see you in Martell, or Greyjoy, both houses who love people who are adaptable and stubborn. I think Martells might be a bit more manipulative than you are. But, then again, the greyjoys have Euron, who isn't exactly straight forward, either. I think you'd be comfortable in either house, but since you love the sea and Theon's your favorite... what the heck? Greyjoy

Martell

[identity profile] ebonhost.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 07:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't see the Stark at all. You seem very very Greyjoy to me, especially with your love of the sea, and hey, you like Theon. :)

Tully

[identity profile] umihebizanomiko.livejournal.com 2009-09-07 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The way you list Mance as a favorite, and for some reason the way you list Barristan among your least favorite (both of which I don't think I've seen before, and certainly not together), makes me think that you're a Greyjoy.

Tyrell

My first feeling was actually Targ, but I can't see your favorite and least favorite characters squaring with that -- I think you have a lot of the Targs' effortless excellence thing going on, but not their particular morality. I see Martell, too, but they are very "fixed", and you seem to be much more aware of the transient nature of things (the "easy come easy go" answer to money and friends). So... that, and Theon being one of your favorites, I have to go with the Greyjoy votes.

[identity profile] ladynyks.livejournal.com 2009-09-08 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Having been reminded that you wanted to sort me into Targaryen, I'll take your effortless excellence and bask in it.

Yes, I see the Greyjoy too. :)

Lannister

Greyjoy, no doubt about it. And yay for someone else who considers Petyr more almost-but-not-quite a villain than an actual villain :) (He's one of my favorites, too.)

Stark

Was I the only one who thought Tyrell?

Tyrell

[identity profile] spamdilemma.livejournal.com 2009-09-08 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
The tide seems to be pulling pretty strongly for Greyjoy, which I see a lot, but I'm going to side with Targaryen, actually. The Targs we've met in the series have seen how money and friends come and go, but they push forth. They like achievement and at times impulsive decision-making. There's also their adaptable nature, i.e. *Valyria explodes* Oh, better go conquer Westeros then. I don't really find Targs to be pleasure-seeking folk in that it's an established trait, but they do seem to have a similar desire to have it all. :)

Targaryen

[identity profile] ladynyks.livejournal.com 2009-09-08 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Spaces, hmh. It's more "overgrow" or "grow out of your fears" than overrun them, by the way. And I don't quite know what you mean with "rents" (an opening or something to fall into?) in your sentence up there, but that's beside the point and unnecessary although I suspect some of the community's interactions may prove difficult for you to follow.

I'll take your dislike of being tied down as Greyjoy, anyway. Mostly because you're not Martell or Targaryen despite answers like 6. The sparseness of answers like 4 and 9 is more the other house. Okay, fine, 9 could just as well be Martell or Tully or something, and normally we'd be asking for elaboration I imagine. I fail to see how Barristan was hypocritical in particular, and especially more than several other characters, but whatever. Although I still rather question the journal being started on only the 5th of September and there being no entries or friends, but whatever, as said.

I'm adding to the Greyjoy votes. Your answer to the "three wishes" question is especially suited to it--Greyjoys don't like getting things they didn't work for!

Tyrell

I was thinking Martell until I got to your favorite characters section. Partly because you named a Greyjoy, sure, but also Mance, who is all about independence and doing things his own way and ... well I guess that is Martell in a way too, but for whatever reason seeing him on there made me think of Greyjoy. Mance doesn't want to live according to others' rules and neither do the Ironborn.

I was actually toying between Lannister and Greyjoy. Your fear of prisons or being trapped, your best/worst qualities, and pleasure as a first choice reminds me of both Houses. But, the deciding factor was your putting family and friends as least important which points more to a Greyjoy than a Lannister.

I can see the Martell in here, with the pleasure-loving and other hints of gracious living, and the Stark too (I'm not totally sure that Greyjoys consider helping people to be an worthy accomplishment), but overall I get the Greyjoy feeling as well, especially once you said Theon is your favorite. Your description of your ideal home really nailed it for me.
