All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

Climate: It has to be warm. I'm the sort of person to sleep with big blankets and socks even in the summer. I really don't like the cold, I freeze easily and I like to live in warm climate.

Location/Infrastructure: It has to have a good infrastructure system to be able to move/travel. Meaning ports, airports, trains, highways. Not an isolated place but something I can move easily to other places and travel

Offerings: It doesn't need to be a big city, but it should have reasonable cultural offering. Green spaces should be there. I like seaside better than mountain, but I'm fine with anything actually.

House in general: I don't need overly luxury, allthough I like nice bathrooms and my comfort. It has to be light though (windows), with a balcony or terrace or garden. Nice views (right now I have view on the seacoast XD). Decoration can be ethnic or mediterranean. It should include a comfy chair for the computer and a comfy sofa for movies :D And a fridge. A full fridge please with food and drinks :DDD

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

I'm afraid of losing the ones I love. That's my major fear and unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it. But isn't that the fear all people have?

Dog fights. I have a dog (who is very nice) but in the past I've had bad experience with other dogs, agressive ones, that's why I'm actually scared when I meet other free running dogs and I don't know if they will be friendly to my dog or not.

Failure. I'm not overly ambitous but I like to succeed in what I do, so my life is not a waste. As a matter of fact, I don't want my life to be a waste.

3. What is your favorite aspect of your physical appearance and why?

Oh, everybody says eyes here, or no? But allthough they're pretty, I have glasses and therefore will go with something else :P I quite like my body shape. I'm not next top model by no means LOL, but I'm comfortable with my body, I'm on the thin side, average size and I think I look good with the right outfit XD

4. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance, what would you change and why?
My hair. Oh wait, I am actually changing that one constantly, LOL. Well, yeah hair. I dye it a lot, cause the natural colour is icky boring brown. Unfortunately due to the bleaching, colouring, etc now it's quite brittle and not very shiny.

5. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

I have only one wish. Here it is:

I want happyness, health and peace for a) the ones I love, b) myself, c) the rest of the world.

In that exact order actually. And if the genie can't do that, he can give me the power to achieve it myself. If that is not possible, I don't want anything else, thank you.

6. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

Thanks for the listing more options. So where to start? LOL

1) I recently finished my studies with an oral exam I OWNED. I don't mean like good grade, but I mean OWNING like BEST grade one can achieve in an exam. 10/10 or something like that. In addition to the fact that it's for more qualified people and that I work full time, I must say, I am made of awesome ;PPPP

2) Quite some years ago I got grant to go to Spain for studies. So I got my backbag, and moved to Madrid. I didn't have a place to stay, I didn't know anybody and I didn't speak spanish. I managed to find a place, to know people (including my gf :D ) and to learn spanish in 3 month.

3) Since I've been working, I have managed to be successful in a great variety of jobs, without having major experience or qualification, including, being able to learn really quickly a lot of stuff and applying it. That might not sound like one great achievement, but overall I'm quite proud that I usually succeeded in the things I've done, mostly to luck and improvisation I guess. XD

Now I probably came across as really arrogant but well, you asked for my achievements. If you had asked for my failures I could have given you the same number, or probably more. :)

7. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?

How can you possibly separate love from family and friends? I mean, why this thing of associating love automatically to romantic love?

So I'm going to say love, family and friendship as the first, because it's because of love that family, significant other and friends and are important.

After that Knowledge, Adventure and pleasure. Allthough that goes together, because Adventure gives Knowledge and pleasure too.

Least important: Money. Explanation see below. Short explanation: I need money for my life style, but I wouldn't make it my goal to amass it.

8. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?

The reason I didn't apply earlier is because of that question. I can't think of any quote that represents me and my values accurately. So I'll just name a few I like, if that's ok.

Dame una guerra donde luchar, dame una meta donde llegar, dame un motivo, dame una idea, (Ella Baila Sola, roughly translated: Give me a war to fight in, give me a goal to reach, give me a reason, give me an idea)

If the problem has a solution, why worry? And if it hasn't, why worry? :P

Humor is something that thrives between man's aspirations and his limitations. There is more logic in humor than in anything else. Because, you see, humor is truth.

I also liked Neds quote (paraphrased): If you are going to take a mans life, you must be able to look into his face and hear his last words. If you can't then maybe he doesn't deserve to die.

9. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?

That's a funny question. Because it's so easy for us to say that money is not important, to us who are probably part of the priviledged minority in world population who live in excess, who never really have to worry about money or surviving.

I have to say that financial security is important, because I have always lived in a society where I actually had financial security. I never was threatened to die of hunger or be homeless. If I had real needs I would give it more importance I guess. Right now I must say that most things we have we don't really need.

So I don't think money is important for me, because I don't think that the things we can buy in our society really matter. BUT financial security is important because it's the way we are used to live.

So a certain security is important. I don't need luxury though.

As of how I manage it, I'm the nightmare for salespeople. I'm practically immune to sales techniques, I dispise shopping, I actually only buy stuff I want or need and I don't spend money on innecessary stuff unless I feel like it.

But I like to spend my money on travelling and presents!!! :D Said that, I have no problem spending money on something I feel strong about :) Gone is gone, and no regrets.

10. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?

Well, internet surfing obviously, or I wouldn't be here LOL. And as for that matter, include making fanart, graphics and fanfiction for contests XD

Travelling. I usually spend my (very limited) vacations to travel, either to visit my family (who live in different countries) or to travel to places I haven't seen, I like to see new places. I also like the whole process of travelling, the airports, the trains. If I had the money and the time, I'd take a car and would go from Portugal to China :D Northern route, the southern route is blocked by Iran and Iraq LOL. Or I would go from Northern africa to Southafrica to be there right in time for the 2010 Football world cup! XD

I love watching movies. For that matter when I like a movie, I don't mind watching it lots of times. All hail DVDs, that also allow you to watch them in original version (directors cut 4 hours of the 7 samurai in japanese LOL) :D

11. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).

I'm honest. What you see is what you get. I don't like dishonesty, I can't be bothered to be dishonest because what is the point of it? So basically that means that I'll tell what I like or what not, and it's quite easy to know me :) That also means that I am not afraid to speak my mind and I sort of hope others do the same with me. I mean it can be trivial thing like if I post a fanart that I really expect honest feedback. Which brings me to point 2

I'm confident. Do not confund with arrogance. Confidence means that I'm generally comfortable with who or what I am, that I can take a blow and not break down on it. It also means that I'm aware of my strenghts and also of the points in which I could improve. Oh and it also means that I really don't care about what people (reading as in: the wide mass of the population) thinks of me. I care about the opinions of the people who matter, but I really don't give a thing about what the rest thinks. Like it? Good. Don't like it? So?

I'm openminded. I'm interested in a variety of things and I accept a lot of different situations and people, that includes gender of partners or just other opinions, cultures, habits or interests.

Bad stuff:

I tend to have a temper. Meaning that I can get some outbursts of anger or temper over certain situations, which unfortunately can lead to say or do things which could be avoided. It goes away very quickly, but yes, when I'm in a temper I really bursts out. I regret it, because I don't want to hurt others.

I am unconstant, meaning that the fact of being interested in a lot of things leads to the fact that I can get bored of them soon. I started a lot of studies and hobbies (a LOT, really) but never specialized in one thing really. That is not applicable to people though, to who I am loyal.

I'm stubborn at times. If I am convinced of something, it's very hard to convince me of the contrary. I would require very good arguments to realise that my way is maybe not the good one. Therefore I have a hard time to let go of my convictions or opinions, even if I might be mistaken.

I have actually much more, but hmm, yes, you asked for three. :)

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Which is your favorite book of the series so far? What about your least favorite?

Hm, I have to say ASoS as my favourite. It's most likely the most intense and action filled. So many things happening in that book: the Red Wedding, Dany being all awesome and erasing (or trying to) Slavery, Oberyn appearing (and disappearing again, DAMN!!!), Brienne and Jaime...actually most of my favourite scenes where in this book.

Least favourite probably AFfC. Well, I don't know, it felt like a lot of politics and not much moving on. And the Sansa/Petyr story is just creepy.

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series?

In no particular order:

Tyrion. He's intelligent, which makes him automatically attractive. AND he's honest, most important, honest with himself. I absolutely loved how he ruled Kings Landing as the Hand, and was very disappointed at him during his emo-time when Tywin came back. But I have high hopes now, he's on the run. :DDDD

Dany What I most like about her is her developement and her leadership skills. She grows up from being a very shy and insecure girl (bullied by her nasty brother) into a confident and just queen. She does make mistakes, but she has the ability to learn from them. And she delegates on others, which is another very important aspect of leadership. Even when she has the power, she does not forget what is just and tries to rule according to it. Dany is a very cool character and I expect great things from her.

Sam Tarly Ser Piggy, Sam the Slayer. C'mon, you have to love Sam! He starts as this really really awkward boy, a complete coward and loser, no hero material at all, but then we realise that real heroism is not in how much you show off. He does the right thing at the right time, and yes, he's probably one of the bravest characters in the whole serie. Underdogs being awesome is just great! :D

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series?

Dear Theon,

You are made of fail. No matter what you think, let me clarify it for you: you are not handsome. You are not clever. You are not cool. Butchering kids is not a good thing to do. Fucking in Neds bed turns you on? You're pathetic.

Regarding your leadership skillz, I will compare you to a king: King Jeoffrey to be more precise. Why on earth do you think anybody should follow you? You fail at making decisions, you fail at charisma, you fail at practically everything.

As for your personality, let me compare you to another member of royalty: our beloved, dead wannabeking Prince Vicerys. Indeed. You think you deserve anything only because you are a heir? Excuse me, but you first have to earn that right. Stop whining, do something worthy. Or not, I actually don't care.

Next one is Joff. For similar reasons than Theon. And well, actually is it necessary to explain a Jeoffrey dislike? LOL. I was glad when he died.

As for the last one, I will go with something risky and under the danger of being flamed by everybody, I'll take a whole family.

I never got quite the Tyrells. Well, ok, the Queen of Thorns seem allright and Willas sounds promising (I hope we'll meet him) but those we have met so far unite some characteristics I don't like:
On the surface you have the pretty flowery image. But I don't trust them. Because underneath there is something else. It's like very double faced, like "aww have roses and peaches and a knife in your back". Even Loras uses a mare in heat to win Gregor. Margaery is all the pretty queen but she lies. Mace is all: I want my daughter to be queen, no matter who she marries. And they changed sides, I don't doubt they would do it again.
Yes that family makes me feel uncomfortable, because I like when people are what they seem to be and this is not the case with the Tyrells. At least the Lannisters are openly nasty (most of them), but the Tyrells are much more dangerous in that matter, because it's underneath.

(of course I only talk of the book!Tyrells, by no means the here stamped Tyrells :-) )

4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?

Tywin after all, doesn't shit gold. LMAO! That was awesome AND ABOUT TIME! After a really emo weak phase of Tyrion, I was happy he finally stood up to his father.

Dany taking the Slaver Bay. I absolutely loved how she grows up from a teenage girl to be a Queen, ruling, making justice, conquering and being generally awesome. It's not about the success, but about the will and determination she shows, and about the cause. And yes, I approve with what she did with more than 100 people. Because they killed kids, and that's NOT on! Dracarys!

And of course the Oberyn-Gregor duel. EXCEPT OF THE OUTCOME. Meh. :(

Another duel:
Beric: Let's give him the chance of a duel
Sandor: cool, bring it on kid
Beric: *lights sword on fire* Muahahaha
Sandor: crap. Who the fuck blabbed?
Lord of Light: Beric, you're cool, but Sandor's innocent *breaks sword*
Sandor: *splatter Beric in pieces*
Thoros: Ok, ok, no worries, I'm there to fix it up again. *smoochie*
Sandor: I'm innocent!
Beric: And I'm alive again! XDDDDD
Sandor and Arya: WTF?

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?

Generally I love the serie, so I guess I'll be fine with anything GRRM throws at us XD

Oh but one thing I would find absolutely hilarious:

Dany: *flies over the sea with her dragons*
Euron: *waiting on a ship, blows his dragon charming flute*
Drogon: Sounds yummy. Ohhh roasted Squid! NOM NOM NOM
Euron: ...crap. This was not how I pictured that.
Dany: Drogon, people are friends, not food *sigh*
Drogon: *digests Euron looking slightly guilty* :P

LOL!

Thankfully for fandom I don't write long serious fanfiction. XD

I think my brain must be broken, I'm having a hard time sorting people today. I get a sense of a broad perspective on the world and the meaning of life and that sort of thing, you come off as a humanitarian person at your core. I get the feeling that when you say you need some culture, it's more from the approach of curiosity and connecting with ideas than because of any glam factor. I kind of want to say Targaryen, but they are very imperial and I don't get that vibe from you. Then again you had folks like Alysanne who never struck me as a luxurious figure, I could totally see you as a good queen Alysanne type. Martells are pretty adventurous and some of them show a love of learning too, and you say you have a temper. You also seem to have an approachable sense of humor. I can see you as one of one of the more grounded Tyrells (Willas, Garlan - okay we don't know them yet but that's my vibe so far) or pondering Tullys (Brynden, Catelyn).

I am seeing you as a Blackfish/Daenerys lovechild, of all things. Maybe that's totally out of left field, ahhahah, but that's what my brain's saying right now. The big things I get from this is honesty, compassion, curiosity, and humor. I'll probably be the only one but I'll put you in Targaryen, they're maybe too luxurious but you do have that rooting for the underdog thing that I can totally see in Dany's story.

Lannister

I think you're a Targaryen. You remind me a lot of Dany in your idealism and concern for the world, and I think basically all of your best/worst qualities would apply to her, and possibly a few other Targaryen characters as well. "Honest", for example, is a very Targaryen quality, what with the way they proudly go about their incestual relations (not saying you do that, of course, but you know what I mean :P). And like a true Targaryen, you have a healthy appreciation of warmth/heat. :)

Yep, so, it's Fire & Blood for you.

[identity profile] desire-of-nymph.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahhhhh... I may be totally alone here, but I was getting a strong sense of House Tully right from the get go. There was Targaryen in there, no doubt, but to me it was the second strongest vibe. Your wishes, for one, pointed me in the direction of Tully. I've also always viewed them as confident of themselves and honest - and stubborn, just look at how Catelyn refused to bend her neck and accept Jon as anything, and she was born a Tully. So, yeah, I think Tully.

Looks like "Fire and Blood" for you. It's a shame this isn't the comm where we stamp people as individual characters. I would SO stamp you as Danaerys Targaryen. But we're stuck sorting people into houses. If it's any consolation, though, the only surviving member of House Targaryen, where my vote falls, that I know of, is Danaerys. So I guess it works out either way.

I'm not sure, you seem quite stubborn and confident, but not at all like a Targaryen. I see you more as a younger Catelyn, maybe with a bit of the Blackfish's irony. So, Tully for me as well.

Also, because it really drives me mad. Joffrey. Viserys. Daenerys. It's a pet peeve of mine, misspellings! D=

[identity profile] ol-whatsername.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm gonna say Targaryen. I do see a bit of Tully in there but there is alot more that reminds me of Danaerys. I get the feeling that excluding the occasional crazy that family puts out that the rest of the family is more like Danaerys so I feel you'd fit right in with them.

[identity profile] pyoska.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm going to go with Targaryen, as well, though I'm getting some Tully vibes sneaking through. Your idealism reminds me so much of Dany.

Targaryen

[identity profile] scytheandroses.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmmkey... Curses. Much as I would rather like to say Targaryen, and there are certainly marked traces of the house, I think you're maybe a bit too relaxed for 'em (not that none of 'em can relax, EV-ER, but that there's a more apparent tension, or something). You seem a bit, ah... Warmer, first of all, particularly given the recurring emphasis on love/family/friendship. A bit more cheerful in general, too (yes, all right, Dany's got her cheerier moments, but overall, and particularly once she starts waving the Targ-flag? ye-es...). SO. The cheerier/warmer sort of line came through strongest, and combined with the rest of the app, methinks it lends itself to more a Tully vote than anything else. Though if you land with the Targ-house, certainly shan't complain. ;) As noted, a number of the traits were a lose race between the two. Your tone continuously tilted things toward Tully, though... Again, can't get over the warmer, friendly, less tightly-wound sense.

Side note: A-freakin'-men on the Tyrells, yo. There's something tricksy going on with those ones. It's the Macbeth ZOMG SNAKE BENEATH THE FLOWERS things. Yep. BUT YES. There is my vote, and maye add more by way of explanation later on... Just wanted to throw that out there. Thumbs up, and all.

I did see Targaryen but actually saw more Martell. I think you seem more laid back than the average Targ although you still have some fierceness in you. The love of travel, confidence (especially body confidence),open-mindedness and your ideal home all reminded me of them. Plus, I know Martells can be sneaky but I think can be painfully honest as well.

House Tully

[identity profile] ender839.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
House Targaryen for you, and I'll cite a few reasons why here:

It has to have a good infrastructure system to be able to move/travel. HELLO, DRAGONS ANYONE?! KTHXBYE ;)

Since I've been working, I have managed to be successful in a great variety of jobs, without having major experience or qualification, including, being able to learn really quickly a lot of stuff and applying it. This smacks of Targaryen-ism, and specifically how Dany's been able to, you know, come to dominate.

Dame una guerra donde luchar, dame una meta donde llegar, dame un motivo, dame una idea I'm not sure you could be any more Dany if you tried. :) I entirely agree with [livejournal.com profile] horitsu_kami in that I'd stamp you as her in a trice, but I suppose I'll have to settle for putting you in among the dragons. :)

[personal profile] hamsterwoman 2008-06-10 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm... I do see quite a resemblance to Dany, but I don't think she's a "typical" Targaryen at all, so it doesn't feel right to sort you just based on her. I'm actually seeing quite a lot of Stark in you -- your answers about the books almost sway me in that direction -- your preference for the underdogs and how loath you are to see them mistreated, and your honesty is along those lines, too, as well as your awareness of privilege (and the Ned quote). But your love of travel and adventure point in a different direction entirely -- Martells -- and that's very much supported by your description of the ideal home. I think, overall, House Martell is more likely to accommodate all of your diverse traits, so that's what I'm going with as the final vote.

SORTED: TARGARYEN
