Name:
How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is: I found out through my girlfriend who is part of this community herself. [livejournal.com profile] gruselig seems to be quite active and a real geek when it comes to ASOIAF
Age: 26 and a bit
Location: Germany
Occupation: Full-time student and part-time slave to my Professor

All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

My ideal home would start at a gate. It would open up to a huge front yard and the road would go up to the main entrance of the house. The house would have more than 2 floors. Upon entering the house itself you would get stunned by the huge hall which gives way to a double staircase. First floor would only be entertainment center, kitchen and dining area.. maybe a guest bedroom or two or three and one or five bathrooms. UPSTAIRS would be the master bedroom (nice and huge with a king sized bed) which would have a huge bathroom attached to it. The bathroom would have a jacuzzi, that I WANT! Also for the master bedroom there would be a balcony attached to it. The balcony should either open up to a lake or a forest.
Upstairs should also be a big bird room (I am a bird fanatic, what do you want?) with all kinds of exotic birds (and plants) in it. Also, there should be another entertainment area for more private meetings.

I don't care about libraries or anything of that sort. Outside the house in the back I would like to have an archery range. My girlfriend always tells me it would be nice to do some horseback riding and I guess I could have a try with my own horses.

my favourite means of transportation have four wheels and big engines though xP

I don't know where I would like to have this house.. north or south.. I guess I would like to have it in an area that's not too hot and not too cold, somewhere in the middle.

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

I. I am afraid of heights. It was not always like that but lately I've developed a certain fear for it. Especially when I am standing on a ladder (or worse a stairwell where you can look down) and I have to either climb up or down. I guess its a natural fear of falling? Or maybe irrational fear of something I do not be afraid of. However there HAD been a time where I fell, on my head, cracking it almost open, and I guess this is one of the reasons why.

II. I HATE SPIDERS. Its an irrational fear but I KNOW one situation (if its a dream or not I don't know) when my parents and I stopped in a forest (during vacation) and I had to go into the woods for my little girl business. Suddenly there were those small wood spiders crawling all over my legs and up and they had to be washed off by my mum with water. Thinking back at it, I'm sure that was just a dream but that was when it all started.

III. I am afraid of losing everything I have. My parents, my love, my friends, my security in life, my job. I am very clingy to whatever I have and I cant let go. Never could and never will.

3. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

as many wishes as I want.. wait, not permitted? crap :/ okay, then... uhm.. being the richest bastard on earth, that for sure... money might not buy happiness but it gives me less of a headache if I don't have to think of my financial situation. Then as a second wish, the ability to get whatever I want. And last but not least I want eternal life, no not really, I want a quick and painless death once my time has come.

4. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

I think so far, its the fact that I managed to get a job as an assistant for my professor even though I didn't graduate yet. that and the fact that I have my thesis and publications waiting for me once I am ready.

5. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?

Love, cause you can have all of the above if you have love (and someone who loves you back). I don't really care about the adventure part, I'm not a very adventurous person. I like to stay on a well beaten path

6. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc..) that effectively describes you and your values?

"hear me snore" which literally comes from "hear me roar" but changed that it fits me. I like to sleep and according to my girlfriend I do snore

7. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?

I don't really spend a lot of money and if I DO spend it I don't usually spend it on myself. I like to think of myself as a person who can manage her money well.

8. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favourite things to do outside of school/the office?

I sleep.. a lot. I used to be able to sleep for about 15 hours on the weekends and that's only because my parents woke me after that time. I once slept for about 14 hours straight, lol
I am a drummer. I hit my knees, my legs, other peoples legs, furniture... if I have drumsticks in my hand I might even hit my drums! I cant really sit still and that's a good way of training your speed as well (since you have to train both your arms and your legs or else you are a shitty drummer)
Also, I love to sit on the pc, reading, playing games and talking to people.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).

Best:
I do whatever I can do make the people I care for happy. I usually put their happiness before mine.
I like to think of myself as an intelligent person, or else I wouldn't have been able to go this far with my studies.
I'm modest, even if people sometimes think I'm an arrogant bitch, its just show :D

Worst:
This point goes hand in hand with my first point: Since I like to do whatever I can to make people around me happy I sometimes get used and end up being a doormat. I cant really say no :/
I'm the worst procrastinator ever... well, maybe not.. if I set my mind to it I get things finished, but usually I wait until its almost too late
I like to forget certain problems that are in front of me. If (for example) I have to call someone I "happen" to forget it until someone reminds me of it again.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favourite three characters in the series?

Dany - She is awesome. I don't know I like to read her chapters and I like to identify with her. So much shit had happened to her (her brother wasn't nice to her either) and then she found love and some luck and maybe maybe maybe even more... we will see
Tyrion - small but oh so great. I pity him about the fact that Tywin hates his guts (so does Cersei, for that matter) even though he does everything he can to protect his own blood
Arya - vicious... I like that little girl and that she is pretty much defending herself against the big bad world. I don't like the fact that she lost her wolf but maybe she is going to get Nymeria back? I hope so.

2.Who are your least favourite three characters in the series?

CERSEI (ffs, KILL HER ALREADY)
JOFFREY (s.a.)
Stannis... I don't know, he seems so uptight (as far as I am anyway) that I just want to ram his head in

3.#1 Favourite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?

Joffrey dies, I rejoice. :D I also liked reading about Joffrey and Cersei's mistakes. They're headdesk-worthy.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?

Danycracy! (aka Dany takes over). I want Arya to survive.. and Sansa.. and Jon... especially so the two girls get to keep Winterfell SOMEHOW and their titles.

*scratches chin* mixed bag here... I see the reason for the Martell votes, and personally I also see some Tyrell-ness in you (description of your house, wishing for money, and an overall easy going feeling), but I'll go with Tully because you value your loved ones and want to make them happy, and seem to like stability. Besides you seem determined to reach your goals (i.e. studies) but not overly ambitious. Last but not least - the oversleeping part, it made think of Edmure for no other reason that I *so* can see him doing that, lol.

I'm the worst procrastinator ever... well, maybe not.. if I set my mind to it I get things finished, but usually I wait until its almost too late

Hmmm, I can see why some people are saying Martell but your general attitude was too obviously Tully for me to ignore.

This seems a lot like Rickon's "NO BYE" philosophy on life so I srsly contemplated putting you in Stark. But I think the main thrust of your application is Tully.

Can you see a Martell being doormatty, or describing theirself as such? Nah, Tully. It's not a great fit, I think, but it's the best fit.

Not seeing Martell at all... For me, you could be either Stark or Tully, and I think you are a Tully-ish Stark.

This is hard. Your wishes are so Lannister, but then you say that you allow other people to push you around sometimes. That's the only reason I can think of to give you a Tully vote, and it isn't enough for me. :/ I also get Greyjoy/Martell vibes, but not enough......... Hmmm. I'm going with Lannister even though you confess to being a doormat. The way you talk about it actually reminds me of Tyrion and Jaime. Jaime consistently spent his life putting Cersei's happiness above his own, and Tyrion acted similarly with his family and Shae.

You know what? Stark. You have lots of qualities that remind me of Ned. Your loyalty to your family, for one. Like Ned, you follow the beaten path, putting practical matters before adventure. Modesty is a quality you both value.

While I'm tempted to put you in Tyrell with us so that you can enjoy all the learning in Old Town, I think you'd be very happy with the libraries of Winterfell, too. You talk about how you need to train to be a drummer and you can't sit still. I think Brandon and Lyanna would get that. They might tease you for being unadventurous (just as they gave Ned a hard time, I'm sure), but they'd respect your dedication to your craft.

I was also tempted to put you in Lannister, because your wishes - money, easy life - seem Lannister-ish. But, then again, the reasons you want them seem almost pragmatic, which is Stark-ish.

Also, with all the hotsprings around Winterfell, heatin the Castle, making a jacuzzi should be no problem.

OMG, your spider dream totally creeps me out. (I listed spiders as one of my fears, too.) But to get back to the topic...

I was all set to say Tully, but then [livejournal.com profile] greyfable made so much sense that I changed my mind, and now I say Stark.

7's not spending it on yourself, making people happy and being modest... going with Tully on my part. I can see where Jaime going along with Cersei's wishes or Tyrion in front of Shae may have been a bit doormattish, not to mention Lancel (not of our house, rly), but generally Tully seems more likely to help their friends + family be happy. In my mind, anyway.

I kind of wish you'd elaborated on your least favourite characters a little bit more, but I suppose given the two you didn't elaborate on at all, I can kind of understand. (If we listed the reasons why Cersei and Joffrey are reprehensible, we'd be here all week.) So I'm going to agree with the Tully votes.
