All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
I drew it so many times when I was young... There was always a lake nearby, and natural bushland surrounding, and a pool surrounded by rocky walls. An overlarge bedroom and games room... and a parking garage for a basement - the garage door opens to reveal a ramp! It would be near Perth, of course, and look like a cross between a castle and one those italian mansions that line the beachfront.
It would also have a secret room! Or two! I don't know what I would put in them. I just like the idea of somewhere clandestine.
A T-1 internet connection would be mandatory, of course.
2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
a. I'm not afraid of dying, as such. I'm afraid of not knowing. I'm afraid of not knowing what is going to happen to people, things, the world, after I'm gone. I'd rather have the pain and know, then be in the dark. This carries through into my everyday life - Im always dropping things to look stuff up on Wikipedia.
b. Loss of Faculties. This probably ties into the above, but the idea that my mind might betray me when I am old is far more discomforting than the idea that someone will have to wipe my butt for me.
c. Boredom. I think I have mild ADD.
3. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
The powers of flight, telekinesis and mystical (ie Physics-defying mass-loss-permitting) biological transformation. Of course. I'm pretty lazy. Being able to float around and move things with my brain sounds epic. Plus, Wonderboy! Also: I could turn into a bird, or whatever.
I think everything else would fall into place from that point.
4. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
You know what, I have no idea. I am not especially satisfied with many areas of my life. My job and degree are okay, but not fantastic. My house is okay, but its hardly my dream home. My friends are amazing... actually, yeah. I guess it would be "picking the University course I did", because that decision was the keystone to what has made me me.
5. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?
Knowledge, for sure. Least important? I don't know. Adventure, probably? That sounds weird, and conflicts with my interests in doing strange things. But, given my current situation, the only other choices are love and money, and at the end of the day Im a pragmatist and recognise that you do actually need money, and love isn't even on the table.
6. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?
I thought through a bazillion bands and Penny-Arcade comics, before I remembered the YouTube video I reposted after seeing it on GRRM.
But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself.
Other than that, I'd have to go for this comic, or perhaps the lyrics to Blink 182's "What's My Age Again?".
7. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?
I spend less than I earn, and occasionally move surplus into a long-term savings account. Im pretty conservative, financially, although not politically.
8. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
I play far too much World of Warcraft >.< Otherwise, most of my socialising revolves around bands, food and TV shows.
9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).
PRO I am the only truly rational person I know
CON I am paradoxical in every way; I can be superstitious and stupid.
I enjoy the way this latter point drives you into wonderful conclusions about my impression of humanity as a whole.
PRO I dream big
CON I am really freakin' lazy.
PRO I ignore things that are irrelevant in order to get the job done/make a point/amuse myself
CON irrelevant things may include: people's feelings etc etc...
A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series?
Tyrion. He seems to know more than he is letting on.
Robb. Holy crap, I was mad when he died. I think I liked him because he kept Grey Wind around. I think the Bran/Summer pair was probably my second favourite Stark.
Dany. She is... interesting.
2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series?
Cersei drives me batty, and so did her idiot son.
There are few fairly uninteresting characters in there, as well. Probably Sansa, because she is both boring and stupid (although she picked up a bit recently, didn't she?)
3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?
A three-way tie between Dany defeating several massive armies - I like a woman with brains; Robb dying - it nearly killed me, but it was incredibly well-written; and Joffrey dying. The last was so satisfying...
4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?
I was hoping Robb would win it all. Now, I guess I'd like to see John Snow save the day for his brother Bran. I kinda want to see Dany come good, though.
