All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
I think that in the end, my ideal house would be something Victorian, with gabled roofs and huge bay windows to let in lots of sunlight and warmth. It'd be filled full of wonderful antiques, huge chests and ornate dressers and so on. As for setting, probably somewhere that has a lot of snow in the wintertime, and tons of rain in the summer, preferably with the latter being very warm.
I'd love for my dream-home to be on a large tract of land, preferably with tons of nice, thick forests all around. Wildlife is a plus, I love watching wild birds and small critters go about their daily lives. I'd love to have a place to raise some of my own food, but in all honesty I'd probably just get too attached to them and end up having a ton of very exotic farm pets.

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
Spiders - Creepy crawlies that might bite you and just might hurt you quite badly or in some cases even kill you, what's not to be afraid of?
The dark - I am scared to death by things that I can't see, and of the thought that in true darkness something could be mere inches from my face and I'd never see it until it was too late to react.
As trite as it might sound, being alone. I yearn for companionship, someone to talk to, someone to relate to. Without that interaction, I would whiter and die.

3. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
My first wish would be to enough weight to feel comfortable with myself again. I've always been a bit on the overweight side, and I've always wondered what it would be like to be a 'normal' weight, because society always seems to 'look down' on bigger people.
My second wish would be for more time to spend with my friends. The few that I have, I never get to see because they've either moved far away or they just have very busy schedules. I miss just hanging out.
My third wish would probably be for something much more noble, such as ending hunger, or for peace on earth. I like when good things happen to people that have had really poor luck, and making anyone's day brighter is always put before myself.

4. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
I'm quite proud of my artistic talents, and the attention that they bring me. I know that might not really sound like much of an accomplishment, but quite honestly I've done very little with my life to be proud of. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and I managed to get a full college scholarship to an art institute here in North Carolina. I really think I thrived in that environment, and I always try to be better and better with my work.

5. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?
Friendship is the most important to me, because to me that also brings love and adventure. Without friendship, there really is nothing, to me. The least of all those, to me, is money. People that think they need money to be successful or to prove something to other people confuse me greatly.

6. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?
The cities grow
The rivers flow
Where you are, I'll never know
If you were right and I was wrong
Why are you the one who's gone
The lights go out, the bridges burn
Once you're gone, you can't return
Remember how you used to say I'd be the one to runaway
But I'm still here

-- Vertical Horizon - 'I'm Still Here'
What I mean by choosing this song passage, is that I feel like I'm a good friend that always stands strong for my friends - but at the same time I feel like I've been quite left behind in life, while all my friends are off doing great, exciting things. Sometimes I feel very alone because of all of that.

7. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?
The only real money-managing I do is to save and penny-pinch. I like to make sure I always have a nice padding, just in case something bad happens. Financial security is very important to me, one of my biggest worries is from money troubles. I tend to hoarde back money 'just in case' and sadly it usually ends up that there does come some sort of a crisis and so my hording wasn't in vain.

8. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
My biggest and most time-consuming hobby is, by far, gaming. I admit I'm a bit addicted to MMORPG games, especially World of Warcraft. I love the aspect of being able to 'be' a big hero, and I love feeling like my character helps tell the story. Aside from that, I guess drawing could be considered a hobby. I love being able to create my own little worlds and make up elaborate histories for my characters. Your world is only as big as you can imagine it to be.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).
My best qualities, I suppose, are...
- Personality - I've been told I'm absolutely addictive to be around, I always seem to be able to make people laugh, or cheer someone up that's down.
- Dedication - If I say I'll do something, I'll keep my word. I also tend to be true, to a fault, to my friends and causes I believe in.
...I really, honestly can't think of a third that's really worth noting. I like to think that I'm a good all-around person. :|
My worst qualities are:
- I tend to be rather stingy, to the point where sometimes I tend to do without because I don't want to spend money.
- I'm a terrible packrat, which sort of goes along with the above. I have SO much useless stuff that I just can't bare to get rid of, and it usually just ends up packed away because of that.
- I tend to get 'addicted' to things far too easily. For example, I'm quite addicted to MMORPG games and I find myself putting off doing other, perhaps healthier things to play.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related
I've actually only read "A Game of Thrones" and am just starting in on "A Clash of Kings", so I will answer accordingly.

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series?
I have a very soft spot in my heart for Bran Stark, I love his character and I feel so horrible about what happens to him.
I adore Daenerys Targaryen, after all who couldn't love someone that brought something as amazing as a dragon back into the world?
Osha, the Wildling woman. While she might be a 'slave' per se, she does seem to have grown to ...at least tolerate her position.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series?
Catelyn Stark. Ugh, I just HATE her.
Tyrion Lannister, I just really hate the fact that half the time you have absolutely no clue where his true alliegences are.
Jaimie Lannister, again I have no real reason to hate him, I just dislike the way his character is portraied.

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?
oh gosh, this is really hard. I love the scene near the end of "A Game of Thrones" where Jaimie is delivered into captivity, and Robb is triumphant in the battle.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?
I really don't have a set speculation on this, yet. As almost everyone, I'd love to see my favorite characters triumph and the ones I dislike to meet a quick justice. :)

ninja edit: Wow, now that I look at it, my application isn't nearly as long as I had hoped it would come out being. If anyone needs more elaboration, by all means let me know and I'll try and fix it up. <3

Also: I know you guys like people to read a bit more of the series than I have because of spoilers and whatnot, but I fear I've already had a good deal of the story spoiled for me so I don't mind at all. :)

Hello and welcome, first. =)

Second: By me, your app does need more elaboration. So far, you remind me of a Tully and I am(you won't like this XD) getting a Cat-ish vibe from you.

Reasons:
+in true darkness something could be mere inches from my face and I'd never see it until it was too late to react ; metaphorically, it reminded me of how Catelyn was afraid something would happen to Bran if he was left 'in darkness', without her, something she could not anticipate or see...it also reminded me of her fears, generally
+the song that describes your values
+the ending you want; not much, just tirumph for the good, justice for the evil and peace on the whole

But since your app is short, I feel I might have been mistaken and that I might change me mind once more is added. =)))

QUESTION TO ALL:
I'm very new to LJ-how do I EDIT MY COMMENTS? =PP

No vote, due to lack of elaboration and feeling it would be best if you waited until after you'd finished reading the main series, at least, partially because we are rampant with unmarked spoilers.

Another regretful no vote. If I asked for elaboration everywhere I felt it needed it, I'd basically be asking you to do the entire application over again. Plus I agree with [livejournal.com profile] zweihand - we do a lot of spoilers here, and a lot of what we have to say is either going to be very confusing or spoil you completely, or both.

No vote, simply because I think this community is likely much more enjoyable when you've read the entire series.

From: [identity profile] cyshobbitlass.livejournal.com
Okay, so I'm not going to "punish" you for not having finished the books by a no vote but...I do want to let you know that a) this series has a lot more spoiler than some others. You might be surprised to know, that Sansa and Jaime won favorite characters polls by a massive amount of votes. Secondly, sorting is a big part of the community and some of the houses are just...not really in AGOT. You don't even meet a Martell until the third book! So...read quickly? And don't be offended if people give you a lot of no votes or you even have to reapply. It's not personal.

That being said, I got a very vague Stark vibe. You're pack oriented, have a romantic worldview, enjoy winter and are attracted to Bran so...yeah.

I'm getting a very Sansa like vibe from you so I'm going to say Stark. That said, spoilers really do abound here and, like you, after finishing the first book I would have listed Jamie as my least favorite character but by the time I'd finished all four and came here to be sorted, he had made it to my favorite character list. A lot of things happen that give insights into the characters that you don't have in the first book so like [livejournal.com profile] cyshobbitlass suggested... read quickly! ~_^

Stark

From: [identity profile] esc-key.livejournal.com
I usually use the favorite characters question to learn a lot about what a person wants to be, but not necessarily what they are. Like Bran really looks up to Barristan Selmy and Cersei wants to be her father. I'm worried that since you haven't read the whole series, that I may be reading something into your favorite/least favorite characters that you don't intend? Does that make sense? I'm going to have to say No Vote but I'm leading towards a Stark or Tyrell vote at the moment.

You are very brave to come here if you have only read A Game of Thrones, lol! But if you don't mind spoilers, well your choice :)

Ok, you seem to me one of those Ice and Fire types. :) I get some artistic Targaryen vibe from you but ultimately the ice is stronger, so Stark for you :)

I see there are quite a lot of people who gave no vote due to lack of information - if you decide to add something to your application, I'd like to read what you added since I may change my mind. But ATM, I'm voting for Stark.

I have no issue with the amount you've read (after all, I wrote my app after finishing GoT). But I'd like a lot more elaboration on everything because I don't really have enough to feel confident placing you anywhere. No vote

I'm tempted to say Stark simply because your favorite/least favorite character list is nearly the polar opposite of mine, but without a little more explanation behind the "hate," I'm not really confident enough to go with that. No vote, at least until I get more elaboration.

Tully

From: [identity profile] loveweasleys04.livejournal.com
Well, like others have said it would probably be best for you to wait so you don't get spoiled, but that is your choice to make.

That being said, I am having difficulty seeing the Stark when all I see is Tully your emphasis on finding love in friendship, Dedication (duty), and your quote sealed the deal for me.

Tully I think...

Stark

From: [identity profile] gruselig.livejournal.com
I think I see an awfully fishy wolf, here, along the lines of dreamy, romantic Sansa. Stark. (I have to admit, I hate throwing things away, too. Packrats unite?) I'd recommend reading the books as fast as humanly possible, though - like the others have said, there are spoilers galore in the communities, and participation is difficult without knowing the books.

Targaryen

I'm finding it very hard to place you (I think I've been back to read your app at least three times), largely because, as others have pointed out, there's a lot you don't know yet that could change how you feel about so many characters. But I don't want to give you a no-vote, so I think, based on what's here, Tully.

Tyrell

I'm having the same doubt as many others, but in the end I think you're a Tully.

Stark

From: [identity profile] claireobscure.livejournal.com
As someone who tried to put in my app before I'd finished the series, I totally sympathise. (I heard about the series on the TVTropes website so I already knew a lot of the real spoilery stuff.) That said, I was also advised to wait until after I'd finished the books and I'm glad I did (mostly because I feel better-versed in the canon now and can express opinions). However, it IS your choice! This is tough, though, especially the spare thoughts on your favorite/least favorite characters.

Weirdly, I do get Tully vibes but not really a Stark vibe. I also get Tyrell vibes, but I think I will go with Tully. :)

No vote. I know the rules only suggest that you read the series, but I don't feel comfortable sorting someone who hasn't even finished the second book. Like [livejournal.com profile] cyshobbitlass said, you're missing out on information that would be important in terms of sorting and in terms of generally interacting in this community. If you do end up joining us, and it looks like you will, please read quickly? :)

Since you don't mind spoilers I have to give you the spoiler that Jaime is AWESOME. :D

Your creative friendly sort of nature and fear of being alone makes me think Tyrell, but you seem so non-materialistic, dedicated, and hoping for the triumph of good over evil that I have to agree with the Stark votes instead.

More elaboration in your application could have been helpful, but I think your eagerness to finish the application quickly and post it before even finishing the books also says something about you. It sounds like something Brandon Stark (Ned's brother) would do... while other houses have impulsive members or traits, I think yours is definitely of the Stark-ish variety.

I have to say no vote, and I won't deny that I do feel anxious about you not reading more of the series. I don't think that's good enough ground for not voting and I did try to sort you, but I really don't think there is enough here for me to make a decision about you. Your answers about favorite and least-favorite characters were particularly tough to know what to do with; there's little to no about why you like or dislike them. And you know, one or two "They're just awesome" or "they just suck" is fine, but all of them is... I do glean a lot of information about people from how they perceive and prioritize characters. There's a general lack of "why" in the whole application.
