All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
-Geographically it would probably be the Pacific Northwest. I like rain and cool temperatures, and am not a fan of the sun in general. The only problem would be the humidity, but I can probably live with it for the cool temperatures.
-I'd like to live in a moderately large house, and have a yard only if I could have someone else to take care of it since I hate yardwork. I'd want to have some nice bay windows that catch the sun in some of the main rooms, enough bedrooms that I could spread out a bit/have people stay over, and a kitchen with lots of counter space (since I also don't like to clean, lots of counter space means lots of room to pile things before needing to).

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
Ferris Wheels - my most irrational fear probably, but trying to ride these things scare me half to death.
Abandonment - a far more cerebral fear, I'm just fearful of people leaving me behind.
Death/Dying - Non fictional death is scary (even fictional death is for that matter). Well, besides DEATH in Terry Pratchett's works.

3. What is your favorite aspect of your physical appearance and why?
Umm...my face I guess. I like a lot of the parts well enough and they fit together nicely...

4. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance, what would you change and why?
I ought to lose some weight, in fact a decent amount of it.

5. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
-Enough money that I never have to work and can still do fun things
-Some kind of ability to enter fantasy worlds (come on it would be fun)
-A transporter so I could visit people easily.
(was I supposed to wish the genie free? I'f so wish 2 could probably go, even if it would be fun)

6. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
I suppose graduating college, even if my life has been off track ever since (mostly because I don't know the track anymore).

7. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?
I'm going to list 'pleasure' as the most important to me, with the note that I get pleasure from knowledge, love, family/friends.
Adventure however is easily the least important to me. I don't like adventure much at all (except in roleplaying and books obviously)

8. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?
Tough one...
Well, off the top of my head because I vidded it I Don't Want to Live on the Moon. For one it's a more child-like song and I like that. But it sort of works with my feeling that it's the people and the connections we make with them (in an old and new home) that make the adventure worth having.

9. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?
I'm rather a penny pincher, and a bit scroogy I suppose. I've gotten a little looser in recent years with buying myself things I just want but I'm not a big spender by any means.

10. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
-Well by biggest and favorite hobby is roleplaying (tabletop). Which, while I'm very willing to talk people's ears off about my favorite characters and experiences in games, I'm less inclined to talk about it just in general terms.
-Also, I make fanvids, primarily Doctor Who and since apparently I'm always willing to point to my collection, here it is.
-On the whole I do a lot of reading, watching TV, hanging out on the computer

11. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).
Best:
I'm fairly creative, I dabble in writing, video editing/production, etc.
I pretty smart in general, sometimes lacking in common sense, but I do well in school.
I'm a fairly fun person to be around (as long as we communicate on the same sorts of things).

Worst:
I think I'm a bit needy when it comes to acknowledgment and approval.
I have a lot of trouble getting my life moving since I graduated college.
I have panic attacks when in large crowds of people, makes me a drag in large groups.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Which is your favorite book of the series so far? What about your least favorite?
I going to say AGOT is my favorite, but that's subject to change based on mood. I really enjoyed it though.

I think AFFC is my least favorite, some of the plots I still enjoys but there were sections I was not as interested in.

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series?
Arya, Jon, Tyrion (although I'm tempted to mention the direwolves)

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series?
Melisandre, Janos Slaynt, Craster

4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?
Although several of the battle scenes stick out in my memory, I'm not sure I'd count that as a "moment" so instead I'll go with Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie breaking out of Harrenhall.

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?
I have a (somewhat secret) wish to see Jon rule the seven kingdoms. I definitely want to get a reunion between him and Arya before the series is done, but that's a different point. I'm not really sure what I want for Dany in that scenario.

Mostly I just want most of the characters to a) live (which at this point I know might be asking too much) and b) find some measure of happiness and inner peace. I know that sounds kind of undramatic, and I want to see plenty of action along the way, but in the end I want it to end up happily.

You're a B5 fan! Love your icon!

I'm going to go with fellow Tyrell. You are creative, and your wishes are a combination of pragmatic, whimsical, and delightfully selfish, and you are obviously a creative person. What sealed it, though, was this one line:

I'm going to list 'pleasure' as the most important to me, with the note that I get pleasure from knowledge, love, family/friends.

I think that's really very Tyrell. (Well, it could be Martell, too, but you don't like sun and you ranked adventure last, so that takes Martell right out of the running.)

I wonder if there are other B5 fans around here... it would be cool to do a sorting of B5 characters into ASOIAF houses, as we've done for other fandoms. And, of course, the meta :)

You seem like a very creative person, and even though your answer to question #7 made me think of House Martell, in the end I see more Tyrell in you than Martell.

Woo, good to know this isn't anti-Targ app week. ;) Anyway, how you talked about pleasure really did it, but I got that vibe throughout:

I am a Stark fan too. Which I think is a pretty stupid thing in ASOIAF. XP And yes, diversity is good.

Jumping on the bandwagon and saying Tyrell, though I almost said Martell and still might jump back and change my mind any second. What keeps it from being perfect is that you don't seem to have enough thorns to be the quintessential Tyrell, but what you said about pleasure and creativity and intelligence and likeability makes me think of roses before anything else.

TULLY

I was really really prepared to say Lannister, but I think with your creativity, love of pleasure, good/bad traits you are a Tyrell :)

I'll jump on the Tyrell bandwagon, mostly because of your appreciation for beautiful things and pleasure in general, and for a certain financial wealth.

I can see why you're getting Tyrell votes and we'd certainly be happy to have you but I see you slightly more as a Tully. You seem to have their down to earth vibe.

Hey I'm a Tyrell, and so are you.

I find this to be a rather simple sorting, cause you remind me quite much of me, and you should be in House Tyrell just like me. Come to the Green side! Hey welcome.

I see the Tyrellish vibe, however you don't like crowds and you don't like spending money, two things I can't see Tyrells not liking. You're clearly a sociable person, but the kind who's comfortable with people they know well. Dreaminess and not spending a lot of money makes me think of Benjen like kind of Stark.

You're one of the nice Tyrells. Not a Queen of Thorns Tyrell (and she's really a Redwyne anyway), but a Willas kind of Tyrell.

Sorry, I'm sure you might like a greater variety of votes but I thought you were a Tyrell too. ._. The pleasure answer really sealed it for me. I saw some Stark qualities too, but the overall vibe screamed Tyrell to me.

Yep Tyrell! I think this does it: "I'm going to list 'pleasure' as the most important to me, with the note that I get pleasure from knowledge, love, family/friends." That strikes me as a very Tyrell way to put it. You're fun, creative, you care what people think about you (now put that to some political use!), really the only thing that doesn't fit is the dislike of big crowds.

Tully

Date: 2008-12-10 02:48 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] skyclearblue.livejournal.com
Well, it's pretty much already been decided, but I can't agree with the Tyrell votes. You have none of the...elaborateness, I suppose, of the Tyrells, nor their undertone of sneakiness, and a Tyrell who didn't like large crowds wouldn't last long - they seem to thrive on that sort of thing. I have to vote Stark. You're fun as long as those around you are like-minded (who else but other Starks understand the Stark sense of humor?), you prefer a cooler climate and a lack of large crowds, so I think you'd do very well in the north. Hope you don't mind rose gardens, though. :)

Definitely Tyrell. There was nothing leading me in any other direction. Your wishes point to a desire for fun & enjoyment in life, which matches with your placement of pleasure first. Your best and worst traits also match up to the roses.

Hey, we'd all love to have a new member of the Tyrell house, but I honestly don't get why it's a nearly unanimous vote. It was bit difficult for me to place you in any house given how "modern" many of your interests are.

This is probably gonna shock a lot of people, but I kinda saw a bit of Theon in you. Theon seems to be drifting a lot of times, and there's an underlying desire in him to get people to approve of him (particularly his fathers, real and "adoptive"), which you have admitted to being quite needy about. That, coupled with your liking wet and cool more than warm, made me ultimately go for Greyjoy (though it hardly matters now, I suppose).
