How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is (individual user if possible, not just a community name!): I was searching for ASOIAF communities, and I came across this one, and thought it would be very interesting to see what House I matched up with

All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!. I would love to live in a large home, preferably Tudor-style, with lots of open space and four poster beds, and a few pets (three dogs and a cat). And there would have to be grounds- a large forest to walk the dogs in would be wonderful, and gardens too, of course: an herb garden, and a water garden, and a rose garden, and daffodils and lilies of the valley, and bluebells, and... I like a lot of flowers, basically. I also would want stained glass windows, and a gazebo, and a ballroom, and a music room, and a library, obviously. It would be nice to be able to drive to the water, but I certainly wouldn't want to live close enough for it to be a flood risk!

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted! A good, secure job, with a fair boss and reasonable pay that still gives me enough time off to audition and pursue time with friends would be my first wish. My second would be for the healthcare system in America to hurry up and start covering as many people as possible, because I have some friends who could really use it. My third wish would be for some really fantastic connections that would help me get places in theater.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;) This sounds kind of silly, but the best I can think of is that time that I memorized a two page Shakespeare monologue in an hour and recited it perfectly for a class I hated.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice. Friendship is the most important to me, and Family is the least. That sounds terrible, let me explain. I believe the ties we choose are more important than the ones we're born with. I put my all into relationships, and many members of my family tend to take them for granted in a way that frustrates me. So it's not necessarily the concept of family I object to so much as the literalness of putting family members before people who have actually been good to you. (I consider family members who have been good to fall under the umbrella of friendship and love)

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain. "You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm"- Colette. I'm used to people not understanding what makes me happy or what I want to do- the way I see it, if I'm going to make a mistake, I want it to be my own mistake that I went forward with whole heartedly.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can. I hoard as best I can for a while, then tend to spend in a big burst, but I always leave some money to sit on, even if it's two dollars. Money is important, because I like a lot of expensive things, but it's nowhere near the most important thing. In an ideal world, I'd marry someone with tons of money so I wouldn't have to worry about it, but realistically I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up with someone as poor as me. Which is fine, so long as we're honest with each other.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office? I doodle, play video games, cook. I also love going to see live theater and dance, and I'm a big opera fan. I wish I had the time and discipline to learn multiple languages- as it is, I just really like the sound of Polish, Finnish and Italian (and can converse with toddlers in French and Japanese).

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain. Heights freak the hell out of me- the Eyrie is basically my worst nightmare. I'm also afraid that I'm not good enough- that I'm going to fail at everything I want to do and always be rejected. I also have this recurring nightmare of being humiliated and laughed at by my closest friends, so I think that counts.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.

Best qualities
I try really hard to be supportive. I always show up to my friend's shows, and give them honest feedback on the work they do. Some of my friends are getting married, and though it freaks me out, since I can see it makes them happy, I just congratulated them and offered to send them a present since they're basically eloping. I want my friends' happiness and success in the end, and I hope I show them that.

I'm generous- I love giving my friends presents, and treating people to meals (I just wish I could afford to do it more often!). I also think really hard about what people like when getting them things, and listen to what they talk about so I can pick out the thing that will make them the happiest.

When there's something I want to get done, I really put my all into it. The only times I can be fairly accused of not trying are when I never cared in the first place. If I want a piece of furniture, I will budget my time and money until I can afford it. If I want to see a friend who's got a busy schedule, I will keep throwing out dates and times until we find one that works.

Worst qualities
I'm not good about trusting people. I tend to keep things quiet even when I really shouldn't. This also means I tend to miss out on opportunities with nice people because I question their motives when they're really being nice. The flip side of this, is that once I trust somebody, I'll trust them too much, and believe everything that say, even when presented with evidence that they might not be exactly who they're presenting themselves to be.

I'm extremely critical. The minute I meet someone, I start sizing them up and looking for flaws. It frustrates me when I feel like someone isn't living up to their full potential. I'm the kind of person who goes to a children's recital and is shifting uncomfortably because the children aren't talented enough. I'm still ashamed that I used to be unable to tell the difference between bashing and constructive criticism.

I get jealous. Envy is definitely the seven deadly sin I relate to the most. I'm always comparing what I have to other people, and wishing I had what they had, whether it be looks, money, some new toy, a bigger house, or whatever. Sometimes I'll hold ridiculous grudges because someone got something I don't think they deserved.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.How many books from the series have you completed? All except the Dunk and Egg stories

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why? Sansa, Catelyn and Margaery. I love that Catelyn and Margaery take charge of their lives and use every resource available to them, and I love Sansa's growth and inner strength.

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why? Littlefinger, Lysa and Jorah. I hate that way they take advantage of people in need and use power to hurt others unnecessarily- well, okay, that doesn't apply to Jorah, but I feel like the good he does is largely canceled out by the way he expects Dany to reward him with love.

4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why? The scene where Olenna Tyrell explains her plan to Sansa with the bear song- it's funny and also the closest thing to a moment of relief that feels real.

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
Hmm- I want something happy, obviously, but not too happy, or it wouldn't be ASOIAF. I'm convinced that Jaime's going to kill Cersei, but I'd like her to have accepted death by that time. I want Sansa married to someone lovely who truly respects her, and I want Arya and Bran to rule Winterfell together. Dany, I would actually like to win Westeros in a dramatic victory, and then admit that she doesn't know the land well enough to rule without assistance, and have some kind of oligarchy with a few key members of each family. I think that would make it feel like something had been achieved without being entirely unrealistic.

I'd say Greyjoy. Practical but ambitious, determined, afraid of humiliation, emphasis on friendship (and choosing your own family), all remind me of the Greyjoys.

Oh, there's a lot of Greyjoy here, but I think you're too generous and for lack of a better word, nice for them: I see the Greyjoys being more harsh, ambitious and out for their own glory. I think maybe you might be a softer version of a Lannister, although not quite tipping over into Tyrell. And the fact that you get frustrated when someone isn't living up to their full potential, that is SO Tywin.

I don't really see the Greyjoy - I thought that you were a Lannister except for a short bit at the beginning, when all your talk of flowers made me think of Tyrell. XD

You are definitely a Lannister. The only thing that doesn't fit is that family isn't all that important to you, but then again family is important to ALL the houses in ASOIAF (yes, even Greyjoy), so that doesn't really make a big difference, I think.

As someone mentioned you have Tywin's quality of frustration over someone not using their full potential, so I'll go with Lannister.

I certainly see where the Greyjoy votes are coming from, and to a lesser extent the Lannister, but I think you sound very much a Tyrell.

I really think you'd be suited for Greyjoy because you are a risk taker one who goes out on the line for what you love (theatre). I think of the Greyjoy's motto (we do not sow) and I immediately am reminded of a lifestyle that is about going out on the line. Relying on one's own skills/quick-thinking and abilities to gain what they desire/seek/love it just makes me think of your career and your love of it.

Not to mention how you prefer friendship over family really about sums them up too. Not to mention the lack of trust as well as the determination necessary to survive and make a place for themselves seems very fitting to this house.

I'm going to have to go against the grain here and say Tyrell.

I somehow figured Greyjoy. Not sure if I can explain my reasons properly; perhaps it was the friends-over-family bit, or perhaps the overall vibe of a determined person who accepts risks with a calm state of mind that the app gives off, but there you have it)

I saw a lot of Tyrell, and a fair share of Lannister, but I'm very tempted to vote you Greyjoy for that overall calm attitude towards accepting risk that goes hand in hand with inner strength that could, I think, describe a modern-age Iron Islander ;)

Lannister, though for a minute or so I was considering Tyrell as well. But what you said about you being critical, and that «It frustrates me when I feel like someone isn't living up to their full potential.» - It is so very Lannister! As well as the other personal qualities of yours.

I think you're definitely from the Riverlands. While my initial thought was Tully, I think I agree with the arguments made by voters before me for Greyjoy.

Greyjoy. I see the Lannister votes, but there's something so theatrical about Pyke.

I was getting several houses from you - basically every one except Targ and Martell ;-P - but I guess I'll go with the LANNISTER crowd.

The voters were split not even in two, but in three, with even number for Tyrell and Greyjoy, but the majority thought you'd feel most at home in House Lannister!
