PSA: Game Eight will end in 4 weeks

Hello westerosorting! This is just a quick reminder that Game Eight will end on Sunday, October 28, in 4 weeks.

During the inter-game hiatus there will be no sorting or stamping, and no fanworks posted on valyrian_forged, so if you've been waiting to submit a sorting application (or have friends who are), want to get stamped, or have been waiting to post a fanwork, now is the time :)

Quick newbie question, how long does the interim between the games usually last?

Good question!

It depends a bit on how long it takes us to wrap up all the loose ends from the previous game (final points, winner announcement), conduct inter-game improvement polls, recruit new mods, arrange everything for the next game, and so on. Last time it took 1.5 months, which is about average. But it might take a bit longer this time because we have a smaller mod team and the Character Meme at the end of the game means a lot of fiddly points-counting.

I should add that, while sorting, stamping, and fanworks posting (and tourneys, of course) go on hiatus, the fun can continue in jesteros and greathouses -- fandom discussion and general lulz are still very much encouraged during the inter-game hiatus! :)

Aw, that's a long time for valyforged to be gone. *tears of fandom* I understand there's lots to do, though. Thanks for the great work to all the mods. :)
