"Westeros Sorting Application"

Name: Ann
How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is (individual user if possible, not just a community name!):
I searched a community for the series and here I am.
I've read the rules, so "win or die" :)
Age: Twenty
Location: Italy
Occupation: I’m studying law and international diplomacy. Sometimes I work as an interpreter.

All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
I’d love to live in the countryside – peaceful and quite, away from the chaos of the city. Ideally it would be a big house, with many windows that would let the sun into the airy rooms.
I can’t stand too much heat, but I adore winter. When snow covers the earth it seems to purify the world around. It would be perfect, if I had a big garden, where I could make snow angels in winter and have fun with picnics and such in the summer. Something simple, not too elaborate – it’s certain that I’ll have a dog and won’t care about him or her ruining flowers, bushes, etc.
There would be a big hall, decorated festively for Christmas and open and inviting in summer, a shelter to hide from spring rain. Then, a large kitchen, in warm colours, with a great, sturdy table of a dark wood. I’d love an almost rustic atmosphere…
Then, there should be a living room, with a fireplace and sofa with comfortable armchairs in front of it. A small table, a bar, portraits on the wall.
We proceed to different bedrooms: in this perfect world I’d live with my family, the people I love. The guests chamber should be pleasant, but simple, perhaps minimalist – you never know what will your guest like and what will they judge as too gauche. An inviting, bright room for children, with bookshelves and boxes for the many toys. On the floor, a carpet, on the walls, lamps that would give suffused light for children, that would imagine fairy tales in the evenings. The main bedroom – something in deep, green tones, relaxing and gentle, contrasting with the purest white of the linen sheets on the bed.
Oh, also a library is a must – bookshelves that keep magical worlds and so many wonderful people inside them, waiting to greet you in their arms.
Your home is where your heart lies, so the geographical location isn’t important, though I’d prefer something like Austria, a country I really love.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
- Love. To find it, to keep it.
- Health, for those I care about. Illness can ruin the happiest people.
- Finding my place in life. Making choices is always difficult – I’d like to know I’ve made the correct ones.
And, you're really sure no more wishes granted? Shame.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Helping my family. In a tough situation I’ve sacrificed a lot, I’ve had many doubts and sometimes regrets, but seeing a smile, feeling a kiss and knowing they’re happy is extremely important.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
Love – it’s the most important value for me. Not just the romantic notion of it. Finding love is accepting responsibility for the other person, making efforts for their happiness, sometimes ignoring your own – that however thrives when your significant other is happy; it’s working hard and making yourself vulnerable. But in exchange you have acceptance, affection, intimacy and Love itself. It’s worth it.

Family – it’s one of the many facets of love. Here I also include Friendship, because family isn’t simply blood ties, but the people that would walk to the other part of the world with you or for you.

Money – in this world you need money. It’s a must and while you can forgo it, when living alone, when you’re responsible for someone else’s life I’d rather have the money to make my parents/lover/child/friend happy rather than have fun.

Knowledge – Knowledge is power ©

Adventure – it’s Pleasure for me :D

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
The way I am, I’d take the whole “I’d come for you”, Nickelback, as my personal motto.
Mistakes are only too easy to make, but we all, myself in the first place, should be able to forgive. Plus, the lyrics describe perfectly what I’d do for those I care about. With my fear of Death, to save my beloved ones it’d be a joke of a sacrifice to make.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
I could spend the last cent for someone I love, I’d starve, if I had money trouble, to buy a book if I were on my own. Actually I experienced both…

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
I read, read, read, read… you get the idea. Once upon a time my vision was perfect. When I was 7 y/o I found my way to avoid my parents’ curfew – hiding under the blanket with a flashlight. The rest is history.
At the tender age of three I wrote my own fairy tale. I’ve never stopped.
I love listening to music and actually sing along with the lyrics. Possibly when no one hears me, otherwise I stop. I don’t like when people’s ears bleed.
Are animals a hobby? Because I have three dogs and they’re more my life than a hobby.
Psychoanalyzing anything and anyone I can. From acquaintances, to book characters.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
- Death. As stupid as it sounds, I’m afraid of seeing the ones I love perish or be the one who“passed on”. Every situation can be solved, changed, can show a new aspect after awhile – except death. It has no escape and it would leave heartbroken people behind, even if there is an afterlife.
- Illness. Losing myself, becoming a shell without any trace of life except the physical. It equals point 1, for me.
- On a lighter note, I’m afraid of insects. Or rather I’m disgusted. I just can’t stand them. I don't know nor care why.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
I’m loyal. Once you’ve got under the wire, I’ll be always near, despite time, distance and possible quarrels.
I’m responsible. If I gave you a promise, I’ll keep it. I know the meaning of commitment.
I’m very determined – if I have a goal, I’ll do anything to reach it.

But,
I’m stubborn. Not only determined, but awfully stubborn.
I’m vindictive. Sorry, but once I’ve taken offence, it’ll be a long time to forget it.
I’m indecisive. Before I make a choice I’ll think it through a million of times and then rethink it all over again.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.How many books from the series have you completed?
I didn't read Duncan's adventures, but I've finished ADwD awhile ago.

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Arya Stark: brave, clever, determined she didn’t break, but struggled despite all the odds. She was a scared, lost, confused kid, who survived and kept fighting. She wants a family, friends, she wants to belong. She never gave up and I can’t wait for the moment she’ll return to Westeros, hopefully to reunite with her family.
Robb Stark: no one specified about POVs or not. Loyal, brave despite his young age, I think he could have been a good, level headed king, if given some time and without the web the !£$/%/&! Freys and Tywin thought of. Jeyne, one way or another, seduced him, and he felt honour bound to marry her, in his young, naïve hopes that the Freys were civilised people.
Davos Seaworth: a man of honour, a man who lived a difficult life and now is loyal to the man, whom he honestly thinks the true King. He will keep fighting and will accept whatever fate he’ll have, especially if it will benefit his sovereign.

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
There are so many…
Sansa Stark: Form that scene before Lady’s death and her lies in front of Robert she died as a Stark in my eyes. She’ s a lost girl, in the intricate web of those more accomplished in the Game of Thrones, for the moment, but she chose it. She’s the proverbial “pretty bird”, that sings what she’s been taught, for me, at least for now. As we know, Martin’s characters love to evolve
Cersey Lannister: it’s not just the incest, where she seduced Jaime, it’s just her bloody blindness. She deems herself the only one capable to reign, uncaring of what it truly brings to others. She must show her power and be in control.
Joffrey Baraethon: a kid torturing puppies, kittens, defenceless girls? The boy who decided that the best way to impress Daddy dearest would be killing an innocent boy, already at the gate of Death? His choking was my treat after the RW.

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
I suppose Arya travelling with the Brotherhood, the “pretty oak” moment, but also the prophecies she heard. I still want to know the mystery of the Summer Castle and the song about the Dragonfly’s prince.
It was a drop of peace in an ocean of pain, after the horrors of Harrenhall and before the RW.

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
Tough one… on one hand I’d like many characters to be happy, on the other, I’d like to respect Martin’s style and that, IMHO, presumes at best something bittersweet.

The remaining Starks reunited, Arya, even if injured as poetic justice, with Gendry, possibly never becoming a Faceless. Rickon learning from Bran to rule Winrefell and then Bran leaving the Castle with Meera and, after the SPOILER from the next book, Theon possibly with Jeyne. His pain was a way of redemption.
I want the Freys and Boltons dead. I want Dany uniting the khalasars and workin on anti slave politics in Meeren etc, far from Weteros. I want Jon on the Wall, the honourable Night’s man he was, I want Sansa in the Vale, ruling it, through Harry the Heir, Petyr dead, as much as I love to hate him. Jaime and Brienne, either a wonderful bromance or a romance – whatever makes them happy. Zombie!Cat – dead, for good. Why not Stannis on the throne? Without Mel, though. Sorry, but I don’t like religious fanatics. Ideally, it’d be a brand new world, ruled more wisely and fairly than before. I’m afraid reality won’t be all smiles and rainbows, a fact I’ll have to accept as the Author’s Will.

I actually see a Lannister - I feel that you place a lot of emphasis on family, but also on love which I think is very Jaime and not something any Tully would really do (their motto may have the word family in it, but it also has duty!)

It's interesting that you don't seem to like Zombie!Cat (or maybe you just want her to be at peace?) because I got a really big Catelyn vibe from your wishes, fears, and best/worst qualities: loyal, determined, vindictive, heartbroken at the thought of losing loved ones, and so on.

I think I'm going to have to go with Tully

You're sort of an interesting Lannister/Tully hybrid, which isn't very common, I don't think. I'm gonna say TULLY, b/c there *is* a side to that house that isn't homespun goody-goody.

With an absolute majority of 21 votes you are hereby sorted into House Tully! However, some thought that you would fit in Stark or Lannister, with 4 voters respectively.
