All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

Honestly, I think I'd like to live out in Seattle. The mix of the mountains and forest with a city plopped right in the middle of that and the ocean. Enough people and things around to keep it from being out in the sticks. I am a city girl at heart. The house, I suppose would be something small and cozy with a large kitchen to work in when the mood strikes me to bake. A fenced in yard for the dog to run to her heart's content in, and all the sunbeams for the cats to curl up in.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

Money. That so does not sound terribly nice, but enough money to keep from having to worry about the next month's bills would be amazing, I won't lie.

Happiness. For myself and all my family and loved ones. So that they would just be able to enjoy life while we all still have it.

Health. I'd like to be healthy and capable for all the days of my life.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

Wow. Uh. I'm not sure I have anything to be that proud of like that. I'm still young, though, so I don't think that will always be the case at least. I like to think I would be should I ever become a mother, though. That one would be for certain.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.

Friendship would be the most important thing to me, I would say. Friendship brings almost all of the other choices you list above for both you and those around you.

Least important... Adventure maybe. While I would like it, it's not as high up on my list of things I would want. It can be good or bad, but it's not something I actively seek out.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.

Made a wrong turn once or twice
Dug my way out, blood and fire
Bad decisions, that's alright
Welcome to my silly life

Wow, it feels a bit silly now to write it down, but that song always kind of spoke to me about life. Sometimes it can be a bit hard to think past that little voice inside that says you're not good enough, but it's worth the effort. It's something I really wish more people could think when they get low.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.

I save when I can, but the thing about life is that it tends to be unpredictable, so you can't always know when you'll need to spend what you've saved up on... say, new tires or the like.

I think it's important because I do live on my own and support myself. I don't want to have to ask people for help in that arena because, well, it's the one area I feel like I can be independent from my family.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?

Reading for certain. Duh, since I'm here and all. I roleplay on LJ (I'm actually an admin in one of the games) when I'm not too dead from work. I suppose my life is a bit boring because the only other things I do regularly is write a bit and hang out with my friends for a trivia match at a local bar.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

Being alone. I can't really think of anything that is worse than being alone. #firstworldproblems, I know. But that is something that cuts worse than being insulted or actively hated. That kind of apathy that leaves you all alone.

Failure. Disappointing people by not being able to get something right or being good enough is... yeah. Because that sort of thing can lead up to the whole 'alone' thing above.

Losing my job. Slightly less abstract! But that fear of not having the ability to support myself is scary as all hell. When I was younger, I was fired (along with everyone else) when a restaurant I worked at closed down. It gives me a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach to think of it happening again.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.

Loyal. Aaaaand I make myself sound like Lassie. But, yeah. Once I'm friends with someone, I will tend to stick with them until the end. Heck, I still have friends from high school that I hang out with when most people I know stopped trying to talk with those people years ago.

Stubborn. I'm a bit hardheaded when it comes to getting something done that I've promised or feel is my duty to accomplish for the benefit of someone else.

Fun. If you get to know me... I tend to lean heavily on humor and crack for my free time. Work can be just so drainingly serious that I love being able to sit back and just have some fun for a little bit.

Insecure. This one leads into the two below, really. I tend to assume my presence will just muck up things and folks are better off with me staying silent a lot of the time.

Stubborn. Yes, it's in both places. The stubbornness can also lead to me getting in my own head about things. Stuck on what might be something terribly small to everyone else, but my brain insists on making into this big deal.

Shy. I tend to keep to myself a lot of the time, finding it hard to jump right into things when everyone is... well, doing anything. I sometimes just need time to get used to things and make sure I'm doing everything exactly right before I feel comfortable talking to people.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.How many books from the series have you completed? 3! Am just about to start the 4th.

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?

Arya Stark. Soooo Arya. I have loved reading her grow from her own fairytale idea (different from Sansa, but still out of step with the world they live in) of the world growing up as a noble lady to seeing how the average person has to deal with the fights between the houses, to on her way to becoming someone stronger and more dangerous as she tries to survive.

Jaime Lannister. Oh, Jaime. Like with Arya, I love the growth we've gotten with him. He's come from this villainous knight in the first book to someone far more nuanced and sympathetic in his actions over time.

Sandor Clegane. My roommate laughs when I say I love reading about Sandor. He's interesting as a character. The more and more details we get about him, the more I want to know what makes him tick. He might not be a terribly good man, but he never fails to keep me interested.

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?

Theon Greyjoy. For completely silly reasons, honestly. I just haaaaated reading from his POV and I never got past that. I wanted to shake him so many times to make him use his damned brain instead of doing more and more stupid things.

Tywin Lannister. Does anyone really need reasons for disliking the winner of Worst Dad in Westeros for, like, 20 years running?

Joffrey Baraethon. He's like a rabid little puppy. The show has only made me detest him even more. Which is an accomplishment, really.

4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?

Ha! Making me pick. Uh...

I'd have to say Khal Drogo's funeral pyre and Dany's rebirth of sorts as the mother of dragons. Rising from the ashes to finish what her brother and husband weren't able to do in the end.

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?

EVERYONE IS HAPPY AND NO ONE ELSE DIES, DAMN IT.

But, this is George RR Martin, so the odds of that happening... slim.

I just really want to see the Stark children reunited and a family again. Those poor kids have gone to hell and back, damn it. They deserve to have a little bit of happiness.

I always associate those song lyrics with Dany, but I get Tully from the rest of your app. And read faster! You need to finish AFFC, or you're sure to be spoiled.
