All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
I wouldn't like to live in an extremely hot or cold place, or a place in the middle of nowhere; My ideal abode would definitely be in the heart of a city, one near enough to a forest or park or other form of expansive greenery. I like the idea of comfort and convenience, and the idea that I can run down to the store or to the nearest mall to pick up a nice loaf of bread, some juice, milk tea. It would definitely be a city of trade, a place where I can buy anything and everything for the right price, or to barter, and definitely have public transportation. My private home would be a high-rise apartment, preferably the entire floor so I can see around the entire building, and high enough so that the buildings immediately next to mine don't obstruct the view. It is necessary to have at least a 1080p screen, degree-specific temperature control in every room, wifi and audio speakers wired everywhere, and fairly good interior lighting. I would have a room to put collectibles and figurines and maybe my cosplay costumes, a different room for my games and computer (there'd be figurines there too), and my own room would have a huge window wall overlooking the city. I'd decorate the house quirkily; There would be glass panels in the hallway with movie posters in them much like in fancy cinemas, a wall scroll with Japanese calligraphy in the sitting room watching over a miniature fountain, a pretty Baroque chair, crystal figurines in the dining hall, that sort of thing. The general feel would be of a quirky elegance.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
Hmm. My first wish would be for the apartment (or to own the building), the second would be an enterprise to fund said apartment (or building) and the third.. Well, I'd save the third for when I've gotten the hang of mastering the first two. If and when I do get the building I'd invite my closest friends to live in it and keep my most treasured ones as close as possible; It'd be nice to have the building, but I wouldn't want to waste another wish trying to maintain it. The enterprise would be a niche online hobby business, maybe one that buys and sells things I like (like figurines, model kits, limited edition bluray movies, games) so it'll be easy for me to run and manage. I'd make sure this business was present in as many hobby events as possible as a sponsor or a seller (the more excuses to attend conventions, the better!). The third wish would probably end up being a special ability or a mutant power, but I'm torn between telekinesis/mind reading, technopathy (hacking) and shapeshifting, the former being an extremely convenient tool in extracting information from people, the second extremely convenient for hacking gadgets and electronics, and the last making cosplay problems a thing of the past. I'd currently want the second ability, although the first would be my choice in the long run.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
I don't think I have any particularly noteworthy achievements (on a grand scale). If I were asked to list down things I regret, I'd have more of those. But I'd definitely consider my current tiny little cosplay career an achievement. Cosplay definitely got the homely little me out of my going-home-club tendencies, and gave me immense confidence. More than theater or any other performance art it allowed me to truly understand the character of a different human being, which in turn allowed me to better understand other people; I am frequently called upon by other people to help solve problems in love or in other personal matters. It definitely helped me creatively in more than one aspect, from designing the costumes to journeying out to hunt for the materials. And it led me to meet more friends than I've had in my entire life. Even more awesome is the fact that I've recently gotten acknowledgements from people who aren't even in the cosplay scene, including random schoolmates and relatives who've seen me at events. More than anything it's the recognition and the love for the characters that drives me.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
Toughie. I'd definitely push family to the least importance, although not necessarily the least significance, and place friendship higher on the list. Coming from a family with a very stereotypical background, I do believe that you do not choose your family, and neither does your family choose you: your parents have a legal obligation to send you to school and feed you, whether they love you or not. In contrast a friend has the option to leave you in the dust, but doesn't do so for a reason. I love my parents but they've gotten in my way more times than I care to remember, and all of my outstanding achievements were undertaken without their effort; the occasions where they interfered were also the ones where I failed in some way. Even worse is the fact that I KNOW that they hate each other behind the scenes and hide it behind smiles, the hypocrites, and mask it with that happy family aura that I know will disintegrate when money or property is the game. I would definitely rate adventure highest because it is the only fun part of life; you can fall in love, get rich or make friends, but it's the getting to that stage in life that is the interesting part, and the one part of life that everyone has to learn from. It is the pivotal part of life that I wouldn't give up in a heartbeat.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
"He that deserves respect commands it." This means that just because she's your mom doesn't mean she's always right, that not all leaders are infallible, that not all religions are right. To me it's what you choose and what you do that creates you, and what demeanor you have while doing it. Even if you're my mom, my boyfriend, my president, my pastor, if you say one thing or do another or order me to do something that goes against my beliefs or plain common sense, I maintain the right to refuse you because of simple reason. This essentially means that I judge everyone as complete people no matter what the situation, so it's a little hard for some people to swallow.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
Financial security for me basically goes as far as your next paycheck. If money is sure, then it's money. The first thing you do is to figure out much money you need to get you through a day, or a month (groceries, electricity and such), stockpile a couple days/months worth then either save the excess or use it on stuff. If something is worth more than you spent on it, then it's a good buy; a nice jacket might be worth more than a car in that respect. Any other expenditures like for hobbies come out of the extra funds. I do believe in spending on luxury; why spend your whole life eating like a poor man when you can eat fine? You're going to die either way, so might as well enjoy it.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
Cosplay. Dear god, cosplay. I am a very rooted anime fan and gamer (although the latter hobby has declined recently). There is something extremely satisfying in completing a costume, and the more difficult the costume the stronger the high I get. I love the entire ordeal from planning, to building and completing the outfit and props, to the changing room and then arriving at the actual event. It's definitely better than real-life roleplaying, because you get to become the actual character - and I've tended to get carried away sometimes when I'm too deep in character. What I do try to do however is to pick characters with similar personalities to mine so that the real me still shines through, but I do love characters that fight or are fighters. This particular hobby also allows me to become closer to the other two hobbies (anime and gaming) in a way that normal fans wouldn't. One skill I've partially mastered through cosplay is crossdressing, and I like to think that I make a convincing bishonen.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
Disappointment. I hate it when I let down people whom I deem important and those who are close to me, especially when I knew I could have prevented it, especially if the event is in public or in front of a lot of people. Subsequently, I am afraid that the people I disappoint grow to resent me, because it makes the feeling even worse. It's not failure per se that I'm afraid of, only the repercussions; when the opportunity to fail presents itself and I know that nobody else will be caught in the blast, I'm fearless. Lastly, I'm afraid that a person I love and that I am protecting gets hurt through my negligence, whether or not the hurt was my fault entirely. If I deem something or someone my responsibility I try my best to ensure the person's happiness, but not at the expense of personal learning (so if I know that hurt is part of the learning process it's fine). I am particularly afraid that the person I love will be mistreated because I am not by his/her side, out of the belief that my presence can partially protect that person, or that if anything happens, I can take the blow to allow him/her to run or fight back.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
My best qualities: I am passionate about things and people that I truly care about. I am shameless and can put my dignity aside for the greater good of my faction. I am open minded and generally welcome new ideas and sentiments, even those that oppose my beliefs, on the condition that they are well-founded. My worst qualities: I take as little as possible effort on things that I am not fond of or on things that I do not believe benefit me (why waste time and effort?). I can sometimes insist on a certain way of doing things, especially if I know that I am the expert of the field, and if people I deem lesser try to correct me I (usually) take it as a personal affront. I don't always think before I act or speak, which gets me into trouble with both friends and enemies, and this nature has sometimes gotten me on the wrong side of people.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.How many books from the series have you completed?
I'm currently in the middle of Swords, but I've explored as much as I can of the nonspoiled canon.
2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Tyrion Lannister hands down is my favorite simply because of his deviousness. Lannister gold aside, he is one of the characters with the heaviest burden of the series considering his status. I don't know of any other character blessed with so much misfortune that can out-think half the kingdom. Second would be oddly enough Ser Jorah Mormont. I like how devoted he is toward Daenerys despite the fact that he is sure he won't get any pussy. I also find it ironic that the truest knight in the entire story spends a lot of his time away from Westeros for most of the books. I would feel safe with him riding alongside me. Lastly and also oddly I favor the Hound Sandor Clegane. Admiration wouldn't be the proper term for what I feel about him, but his surprising gentleness towards Sansa (whom I would have strangled in a heartbeat) and his prowess in battle make him one of the most interesting characters in the series, especially his repulsion for knights and lords and fancy titles. He just wants to fight because he likes doing so, simple as that, which is for me a much better motivation than gold or love. Jaquen H'gar would be a close fourth, but I am not as well acquainted with him as i am the others.
3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Joffrey. I want him through the Moon Door. He has no idea how to rule a kingdom (although his late father probably wasn't helpful at all in educating him), but look at his siblings. Tommen and Myrcella turned out all right, why did he end up being such an ass, considering that all three had the same upbringing? I sometimes wish Nymeria had really mauled his arm off. Second is the fool mother Lysa Tully Arryn. I understand that she wants to protect her son, but her inactions have probably been the doom of many of the men of Winterfell and Riverrun. Even worse is the fact that she is already sitting in a secure place such as the Eyrie, but still refuses to aid her family and lashes out at the nearest Lannister because of her paranoia. The most annoying character for me is Walder Frey; he's like Craster but more craven, and has enough progeny to turn the tide of any battle, but like Lysa he simply sits at the twins like a greedy old gatekeeper. Craster would at least lie to your face. Frey would sooner bribe you with a family member or two as wards and send another two to the enemy camp with a supply of food and weaponry.
4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
When Asha seduces Theon, pretending to be the shipwright's wife. Theon gets one-upped and cockblocked at the same time at a person he cannot possibly hope to upstage, and his sister at that! It helps that the sister is every bit the pirate HE should be.
5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
It's a long shot, but I want Asha to marry into the Martells and lead an army for Daenerys Targaryen into war. The Stark children ride into battle on their remaining direwolves (except for Lady Sansa) and wage a bloody war with the dragons. I want to see Tyrion standing over his dying father (dead by no fault of his, of course), Joffrey pushed off a tower by one of Robert's bastards, Bronn torching the Others and Jon Snow as the Stark in Winterfell, because only he (and Bran) deserve it.
