All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!. My ideal home would be a large house in the mountains. It would have to be large because I would like to have several of my closest friends living in it with me. I can't live away from the mountains, but I would love to have it be mountains in Wales or Ireland. Somewhere green and pretty, and definitely not hot. There would have to be a lot of animals there too, but they could be wild. I just want there to be animals. I love nature so I would want to be surrounded by it.
2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted! For my first wish, I would honestly wish for world peace. Not because I am expected to, but because I genuinely wish we could live in a world free of wars and violence. I just want everyone to get along and not have to suffer. With that said, my second wish would be to end poverty and world hunger. I want everyone to have equal opportunities, and to be safe and happy, and not have to worry about whether or not they get to eat when they wake up in the morning. My third wish, though, I would use on me, and it would be to spend a day with the cast of Harry Potter. Just a day, just doing something fun like bowling or mini-golf or something like that.
3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;) I am most proud of getting through high school and into college without getting pregnant, honestly. I live in a town with a high teen pregnancy rate, and most of the women in my family have had children young, so it's a major thing that I graduated without having a baby and got into college. I don't have anything against young mothers, but I'm happy and proud that I am not one.
4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice. Friendship is the most important thing to me. When all else fails, you will always have your friends at your side. They're the family you choose for yourself, which is useful as I don't speak to most of my family.
Money is the least important. It's nice, sure, and you need it to survive, but it can't buy happiness, and it can't buy love. I would choose to live a life of poverty surrounded by friends and happiness then be rich and alone.
5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain. "Nothing is good or bad, man-friend. Thinking makes it so." Christopher Brink, Dollhouse. These words are the truest that have ever been spoken. It describes me in that I try not to judge anything without reason. No one comes into this world evil or good. We all make choices that dictate what we will become. What we choose is dictated by what we are raised to believe by society, but we make the choices that ultimately lead to good or evil.
6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can. I'm not the best person with money. There's always something I need to buy when I get it, so I can't usually save any. I wish I could say that financial security is not important to me, but it is. However, it's only important to me as far as survival goes. I'm used to living off of very little, so I wouldn't know what to do with a lot of money anyway.
7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office? I enjoy reading and writing. I'm also a musician, so a lot of my time is dedicated to practicing my singing and perfecting my voice. Outside of that, I love to just hang out with my friends. I go to pool on Tuesdays and karaoke on Wednesdays, and I'm involved in the theater, both in and out of school.
8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain. Clowns. I am terrified of clowns. Like, debilitatingly so. I was exposed to IT at a young age, and it scarred me for life. I've never been able to get over it, and every time I see a clown I freak out and start having a panic attack.
Small, dark spaces. I also have very debilitating claustrophobia. I will panic if forced into small spaces, and I've nearly been hospitalized because I had a claustrophobia induced panic attack at a haunted house.
Scorpions. I hate those little buggers. I've had nightmares for months because one got into a house I was pet-sitting at. There's just something about them that makes me freak out.
9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
I'm very loyal to my friends and family. I don't let anyone mess with people I care about. I can't stand people who are mean or cruel to their friends. It bothers me when people are catty towards those they claim to care about.
I also try to be kind to everyone. I have this thing about kindness coming back to you, so I try really hard to put nothing but kindness into the universe.
I look for the best in people. I don't like to assume that someone is going to stab me in the back until they do.
I have trouble trusting men. I've been betrayed by men before, so I unfortunately tend to assume the worst about them and make them work to earn my trust.
If I dislike someone, I'm not shy about showing it. I will let them know what they've done to earn my dislike. If someone has pissed me off, they have to work to get my friendship back.
I come off as very cold and snarky when people first meet me. I have walls up to keep from getting hurt. I try to trust people but I still need to have my defenses in place.
A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.How many books from the series have you completed? I've finished all but the last few chapters of ADWD. I don't want to finish it, because if I finish it, it means things have happened that I refuse to accept have happened. I know how it ends, I haven't avoided spoilers, but I don't want to actually read it.
2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why? Daenerys Targaryen: She has been my favorite from the beginning. I know she's not very popular after ADWD, which I don't understand. She does the best she can in unfamiliar situations. She screws up a few times, and she makes some poor choices, but she's a good person at heart. She's never compromised her values to please other people and that speaks to me.
Jaime Lannister: He's been my love-to-hate character, but after ASoS I fell in love with him. Everything he's done has been to please other people, and he finally starts learning how to do things for his own pleasure and his own gain. He has to learn that he is a person, not just an extension of Cersei, and by doing that he becomes a better character.
Margaery Tyrell: I fell in love with her. She's a strong female character and she knows how to get what she wants. She reminds me a lot of Anne Boleyn (and this was before they cast Natalie Dormer), in a way. She's shrewd and manipulative, but she still respects and loves those that she considers family. She could take advantage of Tommen the way Cersei does and manipulate the way things are run, but she doesn't. She tries to help Tommen get out of his mother's influence.
3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why? Catelyn Stark. I can't explain why I don't like her. There's just something about her. I think a lot of it has to do with that she leaves her two youngest children to go chasing after the Lannisters with very little proof that they tried to kill Bran. The only thing she ever gets is that the dagger was supposedly Tyrion's, so she makes the poor decisions to capture him and drag him to the Eyrie to answer for crimes he never commited. I could go on but I don't really want to start a fight. Let's just say that I really dislike Catelyn.
Tywin Lannister: he irritates me to no end. He manipulates his children, and openly despises Tyrion, who has done nothing to him but be born a dwarf. He refuses to recognize any of their accomplishments and constantly talks down to them. As a father, he is a complete failure. As a person, he is a shrewd, conniving, irritating man who only does things to further his own ends.
Cersei Lannister: She makes me truly ashamed of my gender. She is every female stereotype rolled into one. I just cannot understand her. Even when we get a glimpse into her head I cannot wrap my mind around why she acts the way she does. I don't even want to try and understand her. She is the one character I want to see die.
4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why? Joffery's death. After all the hell he put Sansa through, and all the crap he did to the kingdom, it was a justified ending for him. Especially given that the Red Wedding was not too long before that scene, it felt like justice that he died at his own wedding.
5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why? Daenerys is on the Iron Throne, with Sansa as her top councilor. She shows mercy to Tommen and Myrcella and has them raised in her court, where they are free but she can keep a bit of an eye on them. She also shows mercy to Tyrion Lannister and places him on her small council. Jorah is forgiven and allowed back at her side. He requests to be made head of her Queensguard, but she refuses. She later marries him and makes him her consort. She gives any who opposed her a fair trial and a chance to accept her as queen, and only if they are deemed a threat does she have them executed. She allows Jaime to live, but orders him into exile. He is given an order of protection and enough money to start life in Braavos or Pentos. He later becomes her ambassador to one of these places. Arya returns to her sister and is happily accepted into Queen Daenery's court, raised to a member of the Queensguard. Margaery is given a place of prominence in Dany's court. Sansa is made Lady of Winterfell and Hand of the Queen. Stannis is allowed to retain his lordship of Dragonstone, and given the Iron Islands and Casterly Rock as well, and he becomes a trusted adviser to the Queen.
Knowing GRRM, this will NEVER happen, but this is how I imagine. I want whoever wins to spare the youngest Lannisters, as they've done nothing wrong. I think this is a good scenario because there's very little violence after the initial uprising. I've always seen Dany as trying to shed as little blood as possible.
