All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

My ideal house would probably a three story house with the basement only being half in the ground. It would also have lots of windows to let in lots of natural sunlight. There would definitely be a small gym and a storage place to keep my sports equipment, a cozy library, and a room that's warm enough for tropical plants. In terms of geographic location, I would prefer that its somewhere close to a conservation area, because I love animals and the woods. There would also have to be someplace where it the seasons changes because I love to go cross country skiing, and hiking during the summer. I also love to go horseback riding, so my area would have to accommodate for that fact. However, it would have to be close enough to a city because I probably wouldn't be able to stand the solitude for too long and I would want to visit my friends as well (they can't survive in non-urban areas).

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
My three wishes would be the following:
1. Enough money so I do not have to worry about meeting basic needs for my family and I.
2. Good health.
3. Quick wit and perhaps a little luck to get out of situations. If that counts as two, then I'll stick with the former.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

Graduating university with a decent GPA despite being dyslexic and getting a job within my field of study a few months after graduation.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.

Most Important: Friendship - This is mainly from experience, your true friends are those that are loyal and stick by you. Often times they essentially become your family and will help you through a crisis even if your blood kin will not help you for whatever reason. I also think that certain close family members can fall within friends.

Least Important: Pleasure - It's something I often neglect and I usually have enough self-control to forgo my desires.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.

"The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him." -- G.K. Chesterton

I'm a huge fan of G.K. Chesterton, although I find some of his ideas questionable at times. This one appeals to me because it's where I usually get my motivation to keep going in life despite difficult moments. Currently, I'm living in an impoverish area and often see people who lack basic needs, which saddens me. Most of what spurs me on is my love for my family, close friends, animals and usually anyone that is helpless.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.

I usually save for a rainy day and budgeting is extremely important to me. When I was younger, my family had money, we had a nice house and nice things, however there was a time in my teens when they hit a huge financial crisis. We had to downsize a lot and move to a rough neighbourhood. Since then money has been extremely tight. My parents never fully recovered and had difficulty finding jobs, there was even a period when I was the only one working in my family.

I guess this came to my belief of financial security being only an illusion, and its more prudent to avoid spending on things that are frivilous to us. Luckily as I grew older, I found that most of the things that make me happy are free, such as reading (I'm fortunate to be living in a region in the world where there are free libraries) and walks in the woods.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?

Reading (or trying too), hearing a good story, watching the news or TV series.
Surfing the internet.
Taking pictures of things I find interesting and want to remember.
Nature Walks or going for a ride in the woods near by.
Hanging out with my friends.
During the winter time, I go cross country skiing.
Also solving logic puzzles and helping friends solve situational problems.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

There are several, but the top most in no particular order are:

1. Losing the people I love and cherish the most as that's where my motivation stems from. I care the most about my friends and family, and I don't want harm coming upon them.

2. Becoming terminally ill. Sometimes I'm afraid of dying, other times it's the financial cost of upkeep, the intense pain and other unpleasant things associated with it. I also don't like seeing my love ones worry.

3. Being buried alive. It's one of my biggest phobias not to be able to get out of a tomb while you're still living and breathing.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.

Best:

1. Relatively level-headed: I'm not likely one to overreact or pay attention to drama and also I usually don't let emotions or others sway my judgement.

2. Action-oriented: I often fail with words, so I 'do' things and if I make up my mind about something, I don't hesitate to follow through unless there is a very good reason for me to stop.

3. Simple (I'm not sure if its the right term): I don't care much for flashy things, I care more about content. This applies to books, people, and other things.

Worst:

1. I have extreme difficulty in showing my feelings even to those I care about the most, whether platonic or non-platonic.

2. I can be a loner and extremely shy at times, despite liking team-oriented sports.

3. I'm not so great with words or writing and sometimes I'm to proud to admit that it's because of my dyslexia.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.How many books from the series have you completed?

I have a weird reading pattern, mainy because my friends have already spoiled the story for me. I've also skimmed through all the books including the latest one, but never really fully read the chapters and read the wiki. I read all of AGoT, ASoS and about 75% of ADwD. I'm halfway through fully reading ACoK and skimmed through AFFC.

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?

Jon Snow - I found it surprisingly easy to relate to him, especially when it came to my family situation. I had been reluctantly adopted as a child mainly because of appearances and family image, although my blood-kin 'aunt' and 'cousin' were kind to me, my uncle and his family resented me. Nevertheless, aside from that, I love how Jon dealt with his situations gracefully (I know most other characters did the same, however I favour him more with slightly bias reasons). He also was able to stay level-headed and complete his task. Also, I like how he's a reluctant leader as Lord Commander and even when tempted (excluding the incident with Ygritte, but I believed he actually did love her and it made him more human), he didn't let power get to his head.

Asha Greyjoy - I liked her strong will and her ability to survive in a male dominated world. Also, she wasn't completely ruthless. I also believe she cared a lot about her family. For instance, she asks Theon to leave her Winterfell, for the sake of their mother. I think she did care about him but knew his stubbornness.

Davos Seaworth - I think I started liking this character from the moment he appeared in ACoK. I like his story and rise to success, but also that he keeps in mind the price he paid for it. Also, because Melisandre scares me, and he has guts to go up against her through Stannis.

I also have to add one more character...

Robb Stark - For many reasons. One of the main ones was that he treated Jon as a brother. Also, the fact that he married Jeyne putting her honour over his (although sometimes his annoyed me due to its dire consequences). However I like how he tried to make up for his mistake and was really sorry about what happened to him.

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?

I apologize for these being short answers, but I despise these characters for nearly the same reason.

Joffrey Baratheon - I just couldn't stand him. His brattiness and selfishness.

Ramsay Bolton - He was intensely sadistic to the point where I was horrified at reading chapters pertaining to him.

Walder Frey - I hated how wishy-washy he was and felt it was unfair that he is still alive despite other characters being killed off.

4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?

I had a difficult time choosing a favourite, there were so many... However a memorable one for me was at the end of AGoT was with Danerys and the dragons. Normally Dany isn't one of my favourite characters, but for some reason when I read that section it stuck in my mind the most.

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?

I know this is pretty typical, but I'm hoping that Jon ends up on the throne somehow. Also for the remaining Stark children to be reunited, and for Theon Greyjoy to go and finally visit his mother again. Finally, for my remaining favourite characters to survive.
