How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is (individual user if possible, not just a community name!): I actually discovered Westeros Sorting when I was sifting through my 'Game of Thrones' feed on Tumblr. I've always been curious about LJ, and WS gave me an excuse to join. :) Win win, neh?

All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
To put it concisely, I am the very definition of a "hometown" girl. I have always lived in the town I was born in, I can count the number of times I've been out of state on two fingers, and I have a deep rooted urge to get the hell out of here. Texas is on the border of Mexico, and obviously the temperatures can be quite high during the summer months(scratch that, it's pretty much sweltering here year round). I dream of snowy winters, blustery winds, frozen sunrises, chill bumps, windburn, and icy fingers. Bring it on, I beg you. Now, for my ideal home, please pay close attention. Somewhere out there in the world is a not-so-small-but-not-large-either octagonal brick dwelling, three stories tall with the addition of the over sized cupola that makes up the third floor. There will be wide, sprawling windows on every floor to let in the natural light and a stone veranda will encircle the first floor. The interior of the house will posses high ceilings and very rich decor in shades of powder blue, white, and dark azure. In the very center of the building will be an octagonal, open air garden connected to the building by ornate arches. Access to the second and third floor is available in the form of a cast iron spiral staircase located in the vicinity of the entrance hall. The first floor will posses a spacious kitchen, elegant dining area, and a large but cozy family area complete with fireplace and bearskin rug. The second floor will contain the family accommodations, such as bedrooms, bathrooms, and a study. The third floor cupola room will serve as a personal library and observatory, as it will have quite a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape. My home will be centered around my family, around love and warmth and safety. It will be somewhere in the countryside, nestled well out of reach of any large cities but perhaps somewhat close to a village or town. I wouldn't mind being near to the sea, either.
2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
Three wishes, what a dream! <3
#1) It might sound silly or strange, but my first wish would be for the ability to change my physical appearance at will. Sounds a bit similar to the concept of the Faceless men, I know. However, my notion of changing at will was inspired by a dream I had quite some time ago. In the dream, I was surrounded by people in hooded cloaks. Some were whispering in low voices, some were shouting or screaming, even singing at times. The only commonality amongst them was the fact that they were all saying the same thing. "She's wrong, so wrong. She has to change." One of them handed me a mirror, and when I looked in it I saw that my face was twisted and grotesque one moment and the next I looked like a small child. Suddenly, they began pulling off their cloaks and I saw that they were all naked. They began chanting a different word now, and each time it was spoken their bodies would morph and their bones would crunch and they would become entirely different people.
#2) Wish number two is...a bit twisted. I would wish to know whether or not a God of some sort exists. I mean, I'm pretty sure that there isn't and that the universe is run off the energy of pure spiritual existence and all that good stuff. I simply think it would be nice to confirm my beliefs once and for all.
#3) My third wish(which should be for like, world peace or something), would be for the ability to express my self clearly. If you knew me, then you might understand that I have a certain inner restriction that keeps me from showing my emotions at appropriate times. I also have an issue with suppressing all my feelings, which is sure to lead to a stomach ulcer or something somewhere down the line. I also would hope that this wish might enable me to dictate my thoughts, dreams, and imaginings in a way that might inspire other people. I have issues, it is known. ;P
3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Well, to be honest, I don't truly feel that I've accomplished anything worthy of mention just yet. I mean, I am kind of proud of myself for having progressed so far as an amateur artist and writer. I feel that I've come a long way in that department. I'm also glad to have overcome my absolute self-loathing and my insistence for holding grudges. I'll truly feel accomplished once I take my GED, attend college classes for a few months, and ship off to the Peace Corps. <- These are my major short-to-midterm-goals.
4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
1)Family
2)Love
3)Knowledge
4)Friendship
5)Adventure
6)Pleasure
7)Money
Ordered from most important to least important with 1 being the most and 7 being the least.
Family and why it's important:
Family is the core to my apple, the bones to my skin, the roots of my tree. My family is one of the constant variables in my life. My little, semi-extended family consisting of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins(both maternal and paternal), is a very close knit group. We all live within the same general area, we gather for each others birthdays, weddings, and funerals without thought. We love each other through whatever might happen. Disasters nor death can keep us apart, we are connected and intertwined, like knots in a tangle of string. We are irrefutably inseparable and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Money and why it's not(or at least not as important as everything else):
Life is about happiness, not money. Money cannot buy you happiness, it cannot buy you love, it cannot buy you peace. Sure, it can make you happy, for a time at least. But the thing about money is that you're always going to need more. Whereas love, especially that of the family sort, can never go into the red.
5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters
Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is such a kick ass song. Let me point out the key lines that I try to follow and apply to my own life.
1) "Forever trusting who we are" ~ Trust who you are, what you feel, think, see, and dream. Nothing else matters. To thine own self be true, because all those people out there trying to shoot you down, they don't matter.
2) "Life is ours, we live it our way" ~ Live freely, live happy, and let others do the same. Don't concern yourself with the to and fro of everyone else. Make the most of your own life, live it to the fullest and be content with yourself above all else.
3) "Every day for us something new, open mind for a different view" ~ Our lives and our world, change daily. Be prepared to accept these changes. Adapt, be open and understanding, keep a positive view of all life is offering you. Many things may change, how you handle them is the only thing that matters. Also, teach yourself to learn from change.
6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
I have to admit that I an be quite frivolous with money when I have it, which isn't often. I tend to buy things on a whim, but I try my hardest to think practically about spending. I'm still working on it. :/ Financial security is important to me only where it concerns others. I could give a rat's ass about myself, I just want my family(parents, future children) to be comfortable and happy. Money itself isn't important to me, but I'd like to be able to keep the people I care about in a good place. I don't want to be rich, I just want to be secure.
7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
I love to read, and I have ever since I first learned how. Reading is something I hope I never have to give up, it's an escape, a look into another world. It broadens your mind, introduces new ideas, enlarges vocabulary, and can be very entertaining. I particularly love historic fiction, fiction, anthropological works, and science fiction. I love getting lost in a story, getting to know the characters and the worlds they live in. Going on adventures, feeling what they feel, learning with them. It really is an amazing thing. I also love to draw and sketch, mainly as a hobbyist, though I once aspired to be an artist of some sort. I'm decent, but not anything special, and I mainly draw for the enjoyment and the expressive outlet it provides. I'm somewhat of an aspiring writer, though I have few hopes of ever writing anything more than short stories and poems. I love to imagine characters and worlds, but I have a hard time getting down on paper in a way that I approve of. Photography is my main dream, and I love to take pictures. My past photography is mainly nature based, but I aspire to someday be a photojournalist of sorts and photograph the world.
8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
1)I fear being molested or raped. Both my mother and grandmother experienced such things, and I hope to never be forced to experience such a thing. Forcing someone to do something against their will is wretched at any rate, but sexual abuse is both degrading and emotionally scarring. It can leave you broken, angry, and sometimes with a sense of self-loss.
2)Perhaps my biggest fear is to be unable to have children to infertility or some other reason. I feel that I was born to be a mother, to comfort and care for children. To raise them, to love them, to cherish them for the gift they are. I wont be complete until I bring a child into this world, and the thought of being unable to fulfill that most defining feature of femininity is disturbing to say the least.
3)My third fear is to lose a parent. I love my parents more than anything, and I know that they love me too. I don't know a more amazing pair a people. Even with all their faults an shortcomings, I feel that I couldn't have asked for better people to be my parents. <3
9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
Best:
1) I like caring for others. I love being able to tend to people(mainly family), because I feel like taking care of people you love is a essential way to show just how much you appreciate them.
2) I'm usually an Optimist. I like to look for the silver lining in situations, especially when I'm surrounded by people who are shouting out negative views. I see the cup as half full, and I like to think that everything happens for a reason.
3) I'm good at compromising. I don't mind giving in or settling for less than what I might have originally wanted if it means that I can resolve and issue between myself and someone else. I like making people happy, and that makes me more open to making deals or bargains.
Worst:
1) I'm a giant pushover. Some might see this as a good quality, but I see it as a flaw that others use to get me to do what they want. I'm not very good at standing up for myself and I sometimes have trouble arguing points in my favor.
2) I bottle my emotions. Instead of expressing myself like a normal person would, I tend to stuff my feelings down and bottle them up. This often leads to explosive outbursts if I'm rubbed the wrong way at a bad time.
3) I can be unreliable. Sometimes I find it hard to keep promises and deadlines, especially if I'm under pressure. I hate feeling like everything is depending on me, and I often worm my way out of situations that I feel I wont be able to handle.
A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Arya Stark ~ Because she's tough, bold, and determined. She wants to leave her old life behind because she's just plain fed up with it. She's been through so much and it really shows in her character evolution. Arya is a strong girl, brave and fiery. Very easily admirable and an obvious inspiration to someone who has trouble standing up for themselves.
Peytr Baelish ~ Only because I'm secretly in love with him and I totally think he and Sansa should hook up, even though the age difference is disturbing. He's clever, witty, and determined to remain a player in the Game of Thrones. You have to admire his sense of preservation and how he's still standing despite being trodden on by many a foot. I also kind of feel sorry for him for all he went through, and I think he would make a kick ass king. (Did I really just say that?)
Sansa Stark ~ I hated Sansa in the beginning. I thought she was whiny, disdainful, and a traitor of sorts. But through the series, we see her grow and we learn to interpret her innocent intentions. All she ever wanted was to marry her handsome Prince and ride off into the sunset, but her dreams are crushed one after another and we see her continue to develop into a stronger and more clever Little Bird. I'm rooting for you Sansa!
p.s. I also love Jon, Jaime, Tyrion, Bran, and Brienne. ;3
2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Stannis Baratheon ~ I find him terribly annoying and repetitive. Doesn't he understand that everyone has already trashed the birthright rule? Shouting "I am the rightful king!" over and over isn't going to win him any battles. Thank goodness for it, he'd make a very stale king.
Cersei Lannister ~ Not only she is a babbling, ludicrous fool with a twisted idea of right and wrong, she treats Jaime like an old toy and it pisses me off. He's more than she deserves, and I hope she dies soon.
Melisandre ~ She just irritates me. I haven't finished ADWD yet but I know that my dislike for her is pretty much irreversible. She's like an interruption in the middle of the best part of the book. You have to deal with her even if you don't want to.
3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
Wow, that's a hard one. Um.
Littlefinger let Lysa sob against his chest for a moment then put his hands on her arms and kissed her lightly. "My sweet silly jealous wife," he said chuckling. "I've only loved one women, I promise you."
Lysa Arryn smiled tremulously. "Only one? Oh, Petyr, do you swear it? Only one?"
"Only Cat." He gave her a short, sharp shove.
All the moments that stand out contain death. The Red Wedding, Viserys' coronation, when Dany loses her baby and kills Drogo. Petyr killing Lysa was my favorite though. She was unbearable, and gross.
4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
Littlefinger would rule with Sansa as his queen. Dany would be with Jorah. Jon would still be ruling the wall, maybe hooking up with Jaime on the side. Stannis would be dead, and Melisandra too. Arya would be a master assassin, with Gendry as her secret lover. Bran would rule Winterfell and be the best crippled warg ever. My ending is ridiculously unrealistic and I can't wait to see how GRRM will write the actual ending. ;D
