All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
I'd want a cabin, in the mountains that is surrounded by snow so I can ski when I want too. Should include a fireplace, thick rugs, a garage for ski storage, a generator for loss of power during snow storms. I can't stand the hot weather so cold and brisk temperatures work well for me. Plus I get sunburnt very easily so being in the heat is not fun for me at all. That's what happens when you are Irish and fair skinned. I love to ski and ice skate, you usually need snow and ice for those activities so a cabin with two bedrooms, a working bathroom with jacuzzi and a kitchen works well. Plus there is less to clean with a smaller cabin.
2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
*To be an Olympic Skier: although this wish will not happen, (hey he's a genie right)? Skiing for me is stress release a place I can go to just be me. It's all down to you on those slopes. You have to be self reliant. To compete doing this and have a gold medal would have been a dream come true. Sadly I am not that good. ha
*Own a ski lodge: self explanatory, I can make money to feed myself and be surrounded by what I love to do on my down time.
*I'd love to own a racehorse: have it steadily win until one day I could race it at Royal Ascot. I adore horses so having a champion and being able to mix and mingle with other horse lovers would be amazing.
3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Teaching my first class. I am pretty quiet and a loner for the most part so it was hard to step out of myself. I am proud I did it though, now let's see if they can convince me to do it again. The students appeared to learn something and were happy so it's all good.
4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
Favorite: Love I am a romantic. I love romance novels and stories of knights and Highlander Lords. I am convinced everyone has someone. Everyone has a counterpart you just have to find them. They may be in Switzerland but they are there.
Least: Adventure I guess. Hard to say, because I love to ski but I don't really see that as adventure more as a way to have peace and quiet while watching the snow rush around you.
5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
'Life is about falling – living is about getting backup.'
We will fall, falter and make mistakes. Hold your head high and with purpose life will go on.
Also good advice for a skier: fall get back up.
6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
I don't overspend nor am I frivolous. I am not extravagant so I usually buy what I need. I usually only shop twice a year for clothes to replace the ones that wore out on me. My one spending spree is usually new ski gear.
7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
*Skiing: I think I covered that a few answers above. The funny thing is I am not into water skiing. I have tried it we will not go into the result. Whoever says they are similar should be taken out and left in the woods forced to find their way home. At any rate I love to snow ski.
*I love to read: it takes me out of my world and into another. A place to escape the everyday and meet that Highlander Lord or go back to the time of Henry VIII. Mostly I read romance and fantasy novels.
*I love to horseback ride: I haven't been able to go in a few years so I'd really like to head out again soon. I am looking into some riding ranches around here. There is no feeling in the world like it. Sometimes I feel I was born in the wrong century I'd be perfectly happy commuting in on a horse. I am a little rough around the edges I suppose.
8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
*I dislike storms the really loud ones that shake your home and scare you half to death.
*I really dislike snakes: creepy little bastards that sneak up on you and hiss. No thanks.
*Jellyfish: I stepped on one when I was little. No. Just no. I repeat no. Someone somewhere had it out for us when jellyfish were created. yuck.
9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
Best:
Romantic - flowers, home cooked meal, good movie on tv in front of a fire. Yes that's me.
Trustworthy - I am very loyal and dedicated as a friend or to my family. Once that trust is broken all bets are off however. But if you have my trust I will stick with you until the end, if someone betrays me it's not only their honor called into question but what their intentions are.
Honest to a fault - I don't believe in lying to achieve ends what you see is what you get with me. There is no reason to lie just be who you are and all will be well.
Worse:
Aloof - I can be pretty standoffish. So I've been told, but I don't mean to be. I am just naturally quiet.
Internalize - instead of discussing something with someone who I feel has wronged me somehow I just tend to turn into myself. I smile on the outside and say we'll work through it but I have a very hard time letting things go. I guess I can forgive but it's very difficult for me to forget a wrong.
Do not suffer fools gladly - well I don't. Stop being a moron and learn something. Don't pretend to be knowledgeable on all things and you have no clue what is happening around you.
A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Ned Stark and also Catelyn. Ned is an honorable man and he has no time for games and politics. I am the same way so I completely identify with him. Were I in King's Landing I'd probably have wound up in a similar situation because Cersei and I would not have gotten on. I love Ned and Cat as a couple and what happens to their family is cruel beyond words. I am almost glad Ned did not survive to see what happened to Robb, Arya and Sansa. Let alone what happened to Catelyn.
Brienne a good woman trying to make her way in a land of men, ruled by men and screwed up by men. She is fair, keeps her word and is honest. What you see is what you get with her; I admire that.
Robb Stark this boy became a man in a flash and set off to rescue his sisters and father. What happens to him is so wrong it is off the charts. Yes, he was young and made mistakes but there was not a mean or cold bone in his body. He was just a little wild or rough around the edges. Given time he would have been one of the best Kings I believe.
2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Walder Frey yes of course everyone hates him but what he did to Robb and Catelyn is over the top and unforgivable. Period. End of. The man deserves to be destroyed by a direwolf preferably Rickon's.
Renly yes let's just go off and decide we want to be King all on our own ignoring the fact his brother is, oh I don't know, older than he?
Robert I will never, ever forgive you for what you did to Ned, Catelyn and all the Starks. They were minding their own business in the north and you had to go screw things up. Not only that he was a horrific husband to Cersei and horrible father. Plus I get serious creeper vibes from him regarding Lyanna, something is not right there.
3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
I am not sure if this is a 'favorite' moment but the most emotionally draining for me was the Red Wedding chapter. Look, have your dramatic scenes but when you literally shred a character apart it is not ok GRRM. Catelyn had a full blown breakdown and my heart actually broke reading that. I think Robb would have been one of the best Kings, even if it was just in the north lands. What the Freys did him is inexcusable. I very nearly stopped reading the series after that. For one I just could not stand it that scene was cruel. It took me a week to pick it back up again. And two I threw the book across the room and my ice tea spilled all over it, so I had to go replace the book. Note to ASOIAF fans: do not have ice tea near you when reading a new GRRM novel.
4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
Lady Stoneheart finds peace. Seriously, it is just wrong on many levels what has happened to her and her family. I would like her to find her children and at least see Bran, Rickon, Arya and Sansa before she passes over though. She deserves some peace and for Ned to greet her in the afterlife.
Ruling in the north I'd like to see
Tully
