All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.I would ultimately like to have multiple homes. My childhood home was really ideal- beautiful and old architecture, nicely decorated, great yard, always filled with friends. Part of me also loved the feel of London when I lived there for a short time- a little grittier, but still the historical integrity is in tact. I also spent a few months living in Paris, and nothing beats the gorgeous flats. I love opulent architecture that is still beautiful, even if it is a little dilapidated.
2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!1) Success in my art- being recognized fully for the hard work I am doing and being able to pay my parents back for their unprecedented support; 2) Always to be surrounded by good friends and family, because what good is success, unless you can share it?; 3) Peace of mind.
3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)There are a few- I was lucky enough to join one of America’s top dance companies, before I had even graduated high school. I was employed full time and had the opportunity to travel the world. After 6 years, I left the company to pursue art and design and have had many exciting opportunities since, including an upcoming presentation at New York’s fashion week.
4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.Wow- I think all are equally important. Family, friendship, and love are all the same thing to me. Having taken on the challenges I have recently, I now value money, more than I did growing up- It’s extremely necessary to fund the visions that I try to put out, artistically. Maybe pleasure is the least important, because I don’t actively seek it out- it happens anyway, as the outcome of all of the other options.
5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.”I’m not a golden brother, I’m not a hopeless son…” –Espers “The Pearl” from the album, “III”. My intentions and goals are set and I try my best to be understanding and kind, but as human nature goes, sometimes I screw up or take an odd path to get there. I guess it's a plea for others to trust that I will always, eventually, live up to my word.
6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.I have to admit that I’m a little frivolous with money. My family likes nice things but are still grounded and humble. My family has always shared with extended family member and good friends. In my adult life, I’ve come to appreciate the sentiment and enjoy doing nice things for friends. Additionally, in becoming more knowledgeable of my craft, I’ve come to appreciate nice things because of their quality and integrity, as opposed to their label or popularity.
7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office? My number one thing is to draw- the prospect of creating new things, or even honing current ideas, is very exciting. Sometimes, the excitement happens as an accident or revelation during a process that has already begun. Since I can remember, I’ve been dancing (since age 2 to be exact), so that has always been an outlet. I also love to create music- improvisational, or riffing on established songs that I like.
8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.1) The inability to live up to expectations- I’ve been given such amazing opportunities in my life, and I feel a constant pressure (weather it’s there or not) to deliver 150 percent; 2) Not being able to fund myself- as I’ve come to discover, my artistic voice isn’t the cheapest. However, it isn't purely for my satisfaction, and purely artistic. I like to do nice things for friends and family and sometimes that can be a little pricy. I don't go looking for the most expensive option but more often than not, it ends up being just that. 3) Loneliness- I’ve been a broken record: “success is nothing without people to share it with.” I don't mind being "alone", but "lonely" is more of and enduring and depressing mindset to be in.
9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important questionBest: 1) Creativity- I revel in pushing my artistic limit even further, in all genres. My mind is always turing and thinking of what new things I can bring to the table. Growing up, I was never forced to do anything, which I think is the reason why I ended up having some sort of career in everything, as far as the arts are concerned; 2) Empathy- I am always understanding of problems, even if it is in opposition to my own feelings, or means that I am responsible for an other friend’s good time. I hate to be confrontational.; 3) Relaxed Nature- I try to always be easy going, and am not (very) disappointed if I have to adjust my own plans. I've heard that said about me many times, actually. I think there are too many great things to do in life, that feeling uptight or angry all of the time robs you of a great time. Make Lemonade! Worst: 1)Insecurity- which goes with the #1 “thing I’m afraid of”. Feeling the constant pressure to perform and sustain the level that I've set for myself. Trying to maintain that "relaxed nature" is hard sometimes when insecurity strikes; 2) Flaky-ness- I always have good intentions, but sometimes other things compromise the plans I’ve made. If things are important, I am there but if things are less so, I can be a little lax about them.; 3) Vanity- which I think goes hand-in-hand with “insecurity". This isn't solely in terms of what I create, but I do have a vain streak when it comes to my physical appearance. I think it stems from the industries I've worked in. I will (reluctantly) admit that I am one of those people who glances at themselves in store windows while walking down the street. I definitely don't make it off-putting to those around me though, in terms of being vocal about it. I usually keep it to myself, even though I am perpetually (but not obsessively) thinking about how I look.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?I can't explain why, but in most books or movies, etc., I feel an immediate connection with some characters, wether they're important players or not. 1) Dany Targaryen- well first off, dragons, but also the suspense of the potential invasion of Westeros is killing me. I love the history behind the Targaryen dynasty, and their other-worldly physical qualities. She's also, while firm and determined, extremely kind and level headed; 2) Margaery Tyrell-I guess I became overly interested in the introduction of another family into the game, and the speed in which she was wed and widowed, twice, and now wed again. She is really a prime example of that immediate character connection I have.; 3) Shaggydog- because his name is brilliant. I really do like the direwolf concept, in general.
2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?There aren’t many, but having recently finished watching the HBO series, I’d say Pycelle, Varys, and Littlefinger- I’m so much more interested in the play between the nobles, than the counsel members. I like the pomp and importance of those characters and really have little care for what happens "behind the scenes".
3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?Not so much a moment, but an idea- I still am in awe over the conceptualization of the Eyrie’s “sky cells”. I think the idea is brilliant, and so beautifully cruel.
4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?I have always wanted to see Dany on the throne, I think that she would be able to restore some sort of peace to the kingdoms. I am mostly one for the macabre, but I do enjoy a happy ending- hopefully Jon and his siblings will serve as counsel… Really couldn’t say. I’ve learned to roll with the punches.

I was tempted to sort you as a Targaryen, since I connect creativity and artistic talents with the dragons, but you're far too relaxed, easy-going, sociable, and kind for one. A certain showiness and love of beauty that shines through in your app makes me wanna go for Tyrell instead.

A little hard for me to pin down, and I would love to see more expansion of your answers, especially the "whys" and the bits about the series

But overall I get a general sense of Lannister about you. A combination of vanity and intense fear of failure, a devotion to certain arts since a young age, a sense of luxury and worldliness about you, and of course the financial aspects all throughout the app. Most of all, I think, it was the fears that did it for me.

Targaryen

The last answer is a bit spoilerish, to me.

Anyway, considering the dedication to your ambitions, the fear of failure and the taste for beautiful and often pricy things, I'd go for Lannister (but there is a bit of Tyrell in it as well for the sociable character and the relaxedness)

Lannister

Oh, you're a tricky one. Your app is so much less black and white than many tend to be and I'm torn between Tyrell and Lannister for the grand, vain, slightly insecure but extravagant feeling I get from this. Going with Tyrell for now, but I might change my mind when I re-read.

Tyrell

I feel a Tyrell in you.

I can see the Lannister in you, and at first that was where I was tempted to place you for the extravagant vibe I get from you, but I think that Tyrell would actually be a better fit for your artistry and the sort of relaxed/laid-back feeling I'm also picking up on.

Stark

I'd really like to sort you. Seems you've had an interesting life! Have you read the books? I don't think you'd get much out of this community if you haven't read them.

I see more Tyrell than Lannister in you.

Was pleased to see Margaery in your favorites because I was thinking Tyrell by the time I got to it. I get vibes of the aesthetic, pleasant, performative and bountiful from you, then you are flexible about plans, and you have to live up to expectations (I imagine Margaery does), you're certainly not ascetic about your appearance like maybe a conventional Stark would be, you are empathetic which would certainly make you popular among the "common" people, and I think you'd dig Highgarden.

Lannister

Tyrell I do see Lannister and even some slight Targ as well. But Highgarden is strong here.

I think I'm going to go with Targaryen over Tyrell, mainly due to your quote.

Tyrell, with some Targ.

Lannister

Fear of failure and insecurty are always Lannister traits, in my opinion, but I agree with [livejournal.com profile] munditia's reasoning. I got a strong Targaryen vibe but then I realized Tyrell was the perfect fit.

I'm going with Tyrell mostly for this part: "Maybe pleasure is the least important, because I don’t actively seek it out- it happens anyway, as the outcome of all of the other options." I think that's exactly how a Tyrell would see it; pleasure is so fundamental, it doesn't need to be explicitly stated.

Another Margaery fan!! Oh, definitely a Tyrell, and they'll be glad to have you!

I thought maybe a fellow Lion? But nope, definitely more Tyrell than anything else!

Hmm, I'm going to go with Tyrell as well.

I see where the Lannister votes are coming from, but I didn't even think of the lions for you until I saw some of the comments. Personally, I see you more as a Targaryen or Tyrell. People always seem to associate creativity with the Targaryens and you have that in spades, plus your quote rang very Targ-ish to me. But I think overall, you're more of a Tyrell. Your empathy and relaxed nature and, yes, your vanity all fit with that house, and you just seem altogether too easy-going for the dragons. Your ideal house and your ranking of family, pleasure, love, etc. all work for Tyrell for me as well; I think you'd do well there!

Lannister

Lannister! :D

Targaryen

[identity profile] silver-stars-22.livejournal.com 2011-08-16 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw Tyrell and even some Targ but I couldn't shake this Lannister vibe off so I'm going with that.

I'd love you for my House, but I think you're a little more of a rose. Tyrell.

Also, you won't be alone in being a Shaggydog fan in this comm. ;)
