All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!. I can't decide between a place that is very modern and cool or very homey and warm. Either a house with lots of white, glass and almost no trinkets, or place that looks very homey and old, with warm colours and a very lived in crampy feel to it. I also can't decide on the ideal location. Either some inner big city place, with lots of life and people, or somewhere very remote with impressive landscape, like a cliff or waterfall or huge old trees.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted! Fair chances and equality for everyone, because I think that is part why so much fail is in this world is happening. Lifelong health for everyone would be the second wish, as mine is pretty poor and I think poor health is what keeps people from achieving their full potential. No more natural disasters, man-made ones are bad enough as it is and they cause way too much suffering.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;) I fished my master thesis, eventhough I had my worst episode of depression yet, during it and it took me like four times as long, but I fought and am still fighting and I haven't given up yet.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice. Friendship is the most important to me, including the friendships with the few important family members for me. These relationsships are what keeps me stable and holds me together. Without my friends I don't know what I would have done. Least important thing to me would probably be adventure, as anything I have no control over and don't know much about freaks me out. Adventure is just something I like to read or dream about, but the actual sitatuation terrifies me.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain. Probably John Lennons Imagine. An utopian vision of a conflict free world, where everyone is able to just live contently.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can. I've gotten pretty good at living with almost no money, but that also makes financial security something I strive for. I hardly need fancy things, but I also don't want to think about every little thing I buy and to be able to indulge once in a while without a bad conscience would be teriffic.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office? I like singing quite a lot, either in a choir or karaoke with friends or sing star. I love sailing although I haven't had time and opportunity in quite a while, but sailing is the perfect mixture of control and liberation and the nature aspect of wind and waves are the icing on that cake. I'm a nerd when it comes to certain tv-shows, movies and books and spend quite a while on that form of escapism.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain. Loss of control, failure and rejection. If I could explain those, my therapist would be out of work ;)

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
Best: Reliable, if I promise/commit to something you can be sure I will give it my all. Loyal, unless you do something that really hurts me, or others, I will stick with you and won't betray you and your trust. Open-minded, the whole world interests me and will give almost anyone and eveything a first chance.
Worst: I see potential catasthropies everywhere, nothing is ever just good, everything will turn out wrong. Neurotic control freak, I need to have control of myself and any given situation, I can't stand to feel not in control, as it makes me feel helpless. Procrastinator, if it is something I don't like to do, I will avoid it, until it can't be anylonger.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
It's really hard to pick, because there are so many characters and most of them are multi-dimensional, which means my view on them is also multidimensional.
Arya, because I can identify with her rejection of predetermined gender roles and she is able to survive by adjusting to any given situation, which is admirable. Sadly I think, that in the end she will not be fit to live a civilian life ever again, because I don't think Westeros has help programmes for former child soldiers.
Jon Snow, because I can identify with his emo-ness and his inner conflicts. Furthermore his storyline includes ice and snow and the white walkers, which just is great nice to read on a hot summer day.
As a third character I would actually name all the though and strong minor female characters, like Osha, Meera, Asha, Ygritte, the Mormont women the Sand women. Eventhough ASoIaF is set in a patriachaic world, there is abundance and diversity of strong women and they have diverse biographies of how they turned out as they did.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Joffrey, because he is a sadistic psychopath and has no redeming characteristics. He is a character to just hate, not even love to hate.
Ramsay Bolton, because he too is a sadistic psychopath and has no redeming qualities. And he's still not dead, which makes him even worse than Joffrey.
Littlefinger, because doesn't seem to have any scruples and is an egonistic and vain psychopath who fully understands what he is doing to others, but just doesn't seem to care.

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
That is way to hard to pin down. Whenever something pays of for the good guys, or when the fantasy elements come into play, like the birth of the dragons, warging, Sam killing an Other with dragonglass. Also when there is out witting going on and the character you are rooting for wins it.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
In my dream-world we get the last book before 2015 and GRRM doesn't kill anymore fan faves and he also spends a decent amount of pages on a proper epilouge. I don't have a certain scenario in my head, only the hope, that the ending feels organic and not rushed and loose ends get tied up and at least some of the more sympathetic characters get a happily ever after, b
