How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is (individual user if possible, not just a community name!):

I have been checking Google in search for good ASOIAF fanfiction, and one of the associated communities of Westeros Sorting was very prominent in those searches.

Age: 27
Location: Costa Rica
Occupation: Historian

All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

I have spend a lot of years searching for an answer to that. I like my parents place, a nice house in a small town, but I love to live in the capital, with it's shops, malls, museums and more. I also like the beach, but hate the heat, and the mountain, nut hate the bugs. So I guess, if the laws of physics are not an issue, I would like my room at my parents house, but with a magic door that takes me anywhere I want to go.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

First, its a bit cliche, but who cares, I would like to have all the money that I would ever need to have a comfortable like. This is because I hate to work for money with no love for what I do, but would hate to have too much because that always seems like a problem.

Second, have a doctor's decree before I'm 35.

Third, to have a quick and painless death, no sickness, no horrible wounds. Just that, when the time is right, I close my eyes and be done.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

The only thing that I feel absolute pride in my life are my college titles. I really haven't done anything with them yet, but they are my precious babies.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.

I really like Knowledge, I love to study, to read, to try to understand the world, even if any bit of new knowledge makes me rethink the way the universe works around me.

And the least important probably is love. Don't get me wrong, I have a great appreciation of my family (even if everyone of them, including me, is crazy), but romatic love is something a don't really need or want.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.

"There are no facts, only interpretations." Nietzsche

Even if this is the peak of postmodernism that a good historian should dissaprove, I actually like Nietzche. I feel that in a world, that I believe has slipped into cultural decadence and total lack of absolute values, it is only natural to embrace the madness at let oneself go. There are not longer, and probably never were, values that we can call absolute, nor morals that we can define as perfect, so each one must live by his or her conscience and hope for the best.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.

As a perennial poor individual, I really appreciate money, even if a never have it. But in general, if I had money, I have a sister that is about to graduate from banking, so she doubles as my monetary administrator.
An mfinancial security is very important, I can't understand people who woks without a guarantee that at least they are collecting for their pension. Of couse, I think the retirement system is quite different in other countries, but I least I know that I'm working to a be lesses weight in society.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?

Read a LOOOOOOT of fanfics, practically the only thing I do in my house, besides the addiction to web applications like Farmville and Super Poke Pets. Also got to the movies from time to time and read books. And no, before you ask, I don't do any sports or exercise of any sort.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

Cockroaches. The utterly most disgusting creature on the face of the Earth, can't see one without starting to scream like crazy. Probably because one bite me when I was very little.

Demonic possesion. I don't know why, because I'm not the religious type, but for some reason, the faint idea that the devil is right behind is very disturbing. I related to the feeling I have close to things I'm sure want to kill me (my mind likes to overreact and start building this scenarios like out of a horror movie)

Failure in life. I blame my mother, she the perfectionist type. That's why I love my titles, they are the written prove that I'm not a absolute failure yet, but a related proffesion would be nice to prevent the growing anxiety.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.

Ok, this one is hard. Specially because what other people defect I call virtues.

Best.
Cynic. I know some consider this a defect, but al call it a sign that I not let myself be fooled by other people. I besides, did you know that cynicism is a current of greek philosophy. Life of tough, people lie, is good to accept it as a fact of life, even if its relative.

Direct. My mother hates this one, but I live to express my opinion whenever I consider it neccesary, or the circusntances are correct. Besides, I'm and historian, we are suppose to be critical.

Funny. Is a sarcastic kind of way of course. But there is market for that.

Worst
Lazy. I hate to work, utterly, completely hate it. That's way I keep constantly doing things at the last minute, even after I promise myself I would never do it again.

Insensitive. I'm not the crying type, or the tender, empathic people. I don't even feel sad at funerals. Of couse, that means that I'm not prone to hysterics.

Addictive personality. Once I found something I like, I persuit it like crazy. Changing fads like people change clothes.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?

Jon. I don't know why, but I find him gorgeous. The poor misfit self exiled among the dregs of society, in a almost suicide mission for the good of Westeros. And that Boy Commander thing is very cute. Also, I support the theory that he is the secret love-child of Rhaegar and Lyanna.

Tyrion. He is a leacher, he is a dwarf, and he is probably hated by every single person in Westeros besides his brother or Jon. I love sarcastic charcters who happen to be the smartest person in any room they enter.

Arya. That girl is badass, way better that nagging sister Sansa, and she is better with a sword that with the dancing and singing, and all that noble nonsense. I'm not too happy with the whole leave all life behind and have a no name and no face, but I'm pretty sure she is not going to stick around Braavos too long.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?

Catelyn. Seriously, is it so hard to be nice to Jon from time to time. I know she lives in a pseudo-medieval society were the lineage of an individual is more important that his personal qualities, but I'm not asking to name him heir instead if Robb, just not to be a b**** all the time.

Cersei. She is a very hateful person. I know that no person would really to be married to Robert, but was it really neccesary to destroy the Starks? Besides, all that incestual thing with Jaime is most disturbing, and not in a sexy way.

Theon. Traitorous little monster. How dare he try to kill Brandon and Rickon? And betray the Starks? I hope they keep removing pieces of his skin for the next 3 books.

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?

When they found the direwolves in the fisrt book. I think it defined the relationship of Jon (favorite character) with the rest of the family. He is willing to accept he would always be an outsiders, and that reflects even in his wolf.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?

All the people I hate dies in a horrible way, some deux-ex-machina resurrects Robb (no zombie), and Jon is Daenerys heir in the throne of Westeros, with no more incest. I know is ok in-universe, but I still found it creepy.

i am undecided between lannister and targaryen... i associate cynicism and money with the lannisters, but your thirst for knowledge is targaryen to me... so i'll go with my gut feeling and say targaryen

You seem to have a very black and white view of things and state things in a very blunt way, plus you view cynicism as being a good quality rather than a defect (not that it isn't, just that people could go either way on that and you chose "good"). I think I'm going to go with Greyjoy.

I'm going with Lannister, I feel like your quote works best with them, especially Jaime, and there's the appreciation for luxury and a Tyrion-like love of knowledge. Cynical and funny, not prone to hysterics like Tywin, I think it makes the most of your traits.

I'll go with Lannister, too: You like having money, but not necessarily working for it. You are blunt and funny and cynical. You love book-learning, just like Tyrion. And even the perfectionist streak / pressure from a parent is lions all the way. (But I do see where the Greyjoy comments come from, I must say.)

Lannister - specifically the Tyrion type. Your best and worst qualities, as well as your answers for the three wishes question, and the importance you placed on knowledge all reminded me of Tyrion.

Magic door seems Targ maybe, knowledge could be them but there is Tyrion as well for Lannisters. Your quote is very Lannister though, actually. "it is only natural to embrace the madness at let oneself go" is Targ again even if "each one must live by his or her conscience and hope for the best" is then Tyrion? Sister in banking, your traits, even Tyrion's obsessive sides, Lannister should do, although your vengeful streak toward characters makes me think Martell or Targ instead.
