[identity profile] lydzi.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] westerosorting

Name: On the internet it's Lydzi ^^. I've used it for so many years now that some people actually call me Lydzi irl.
How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is: Through Google actually. I typed something about Sansa Stark and I stumbled here. *shrugs*
Age: Forever young? Joke ^^. Late twenties. 26 to be precise.
Location: Somewhere over the rainbow... except not really. Paris in France :). So now you know that there will be broken English in this post.
Occupation: I give dreams to people and no I'm not a drug dealer. I work in a bookshop :).

All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

Details? I'm so bad at details. I always go for the bigger picture. Details are Smokey somehow. They can always change given the circumstances. Overall, near the sea. Doesn't have to be a beach... I mean not in the "sunny" type way. I actually like the wild sea. Fresh air and salty wind ^^.
Nevertheless, I'm not fussy, near water is fine. It could be a river too or a lake. A house is perfect. I prefer this to an apartment. I like it when the buildings have a life of their own. They have a past and a future. I wouldn't mind discovering doors where I didn't even knew they were some. Does that make sense? Sure everyone has made some nice descriptions with the rooms and all but I can't imagine it so precisely :/. I just want an overall feeling. Not a certain number of floors etc.
The rest is trivial. I don't really need much. Nice and warm for my family, friends and I.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

Good health for everyone I love. This one is classic but also timeless. Everyone eventually dies but if it were painless it would be good and less heartbreaking, right?

Control the four elements. Air, Water, Fire and Earth. I'd be an Avatar *nerd alert*. That would be wicked ^^. Moreover, quite handy to be honest. Imagine when you want to drink cold lemonade when it's hot outside? Yep *thumbs up*. In addition, I could do some good on earth. Make it rain in countries where the clouds don't go etc.

Be able to speak all the languages in the world. I would be able to travel all around the world with just some friends and a backpack. I'll talk to everyone and when you speak another language you understand others a little better :).

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

I didn't fell apart despite some things happening before. Like Daenarys says, "If I look back, I'm lost.".
Also doing the studies I always wanted to do and not breaking under the oppression of my parents. They always wanted me to take Science. I stood my ground and took a degree on Classical Literature and another one in Art History. It doesn't pay much that's true, but I did what I liked. That's what matters.
And I'm actually happy to wake up in the morning and go to work. Priceless if you want my opinion ^^.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.

Love is the most important one. Because it's an overall feeling. It doesn't really matter if it's a lover, family or a friend. The important part is to love that's all. I know it sounds cliché and so very very girly but isn't that what we all want in the end?

I was going to say that money is the least important and it is. But I'm a bit greedy and I don't want to say it ^^. Still, in this group of words, it's the least important one. Being without money would be terrible though.
But I'm actually being extremely practical saying this: if you have knowledge you'll still be able to sell it somehow. Therefore money will come with it. Adventure can lead you to a treasure. Coins are a sure gain then. And if you have time for pleasure then it means that you're not worrying about money. So overall, if you have the all rest, money becomes subordinate.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.

" Lord -- what was it the barbarian said, as the riders vanished?"
"'Omnia mutantur, nihil interit.' 'Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.' Fare you well, Master Li."

Master Li and Dream, in SANDMAN #74, "The Exile"
Neil Gaiman.

Pretty much a motto. I don't worry about changes or things not going as planned. You can always find a solution given the circumstances. Though I wish I was smarter really. It would make everything always easier right? ^^
And I really believe that nothing and no one is never truly lost.

This sounds so perfectly cheesy XD.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.

I manage fine. Since I don't have big luxury tastes, it goes quite well. Sometimes I'm even surprise to do this well when my pay isn't so huge.
I go out quite a few times to the restaurant with friends and all. We like to go out on Friday night. I go a lot to the cinemas too. Three or four times a month. I don't really watch how much there's in the bank and all but I always know where I am eventually.
Financial security is only important because I don't like to worry about things in general. But I have confidence that, if anything drastic would happen to me, I'll find a way out.
Also the mere idea of debts terrifies me. I never was in debt. Ever. And I will never be if I really can't help it.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?

Going to cinema. I go quite a lot as stated before. I love it. The all thing. Going there, choosing your seat, talking nonsense before, looking at the trailers, the smell of the popcorn a bit everywhere. Discussing the movie after in front of a pint ^^. I love it so much, I don't even recall watching a movie on TV for years now. To be honest, my TV is on only because I have a Wii.

Books. I love books. Reading them, talking about them even selling them ^^. It's all a pleasure. Life would be so dull without books and stories. And I love all kinds of books: fiction, poetry, non-fiction, art, history, fantasy, science fiction, children, young adults... hey even cooking books are wonderful.

To go hiking. I'm not a professional but I do it two or three times in a year. I like to walk in general. Clears your mind. And Nature is pretty. I wish I could go to Ushuaia or places like that.

Fandom. Ah well, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't into fandom right? It usually goes with books though. Harry Potter was the first. Probably like the three quarter of netizens.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

A/ Spiders and other repulsive insects.
Once, I woke up to find a big black hairy spider on my face. Believe me, you don't want that to happen to you. I try to fight my fears, Paul Atreide style.
Doesn't really work when I stumble on those insects. It's ugh... it's physical. It could go anywhere on your body and it's alive and it's disgusting.

B/ Heights.
Do I really need to explain that one? I don't do rollercoaster’s for example because when you're in a machine like that your feet are not on the ground. I hate elevators for that matter and I can take some several stairs not to go through it.

I master this fear better than the spiders though. I have good imagination.

C/ Being trapped/not being able to communicate/loosing my senses. I blame reading Hellen Keller story at an early age. It totally traumatized me.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.

Best traits:
A/ Ressourceful.
I always have a back-up plan. I never truly worry because of that.

B/ Enthusiast.
I'm actually sure that it's a trait I have with 99% of the fandom. That's what drives us all so it's common. But it's a good trait nonetheless :). When you like something, you go and roll into it completely.

C/ Loyal.
Not going to sing Grenade but yeah. I'm really loyal and I don't take this matter lightly. I don't take treasons lightly either.

Worst traits:
A/ Ends justify the means.
I don't think I even need to explain why this one is not a very good trait.

B/ Merciless.
Which is weird because while I think I am nice as stated before, I can be really merciless. I won't even look back if I believe you deserve the cold treatment (or worse) that I'm giving you. I work on that but it's something that scares me sometimes about myself.

C/ Self critical.
I know all too well what my biggest defaults are and sometimes it paralyzes me. I'm conscious of the fact that if I wasn't so aware of it, maybe it would work better.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?

Wow thought question!

A/ Sansa Stark. Because she's the one I relate the most (except I'm not that pretty). We have a lot in common so when people are all "huh she's useless", I take it badly I have to admit ^^. And I do admire the fact that behind that pink and frilly exterior, she's made of steel. She learns little by little and she hides but she's still here and she still survived.

B/ Jon Snow. Seriously, the man is almost perfect in my eyes. Even if at the end of FFC he seems.... changed. That's going to be interesting to notice how power suits him now. I love his journey, it's really interesting. His chapters are some of the best (minus Ygritte ugh).

C/ Meera Reed. She's badass ok? She's what every girl should want to be. She's the Nikita of the Westeros. You like Arya and Asha because they are know how to fight? well Meera is one of the best huntress ever and she even knows how to catch frogs. You think Cersei is bewitching? Meera is a freakin forest ninja and she has green eyes. Melisandre has amazing tricks? Well does she knows how to breath mud by any chance?
Telling you, Meera Reed FTW.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?

A/ I am truly hesitating between Gregor Clegane and Roose Bolton here. They have the same disgusting personality: they enjoy torture and the smell of blood. I hate more Gregor but I fear a lot more Bolton. The chapters of Harrenhal are forever part of my deepest nightmares now. I can understand why Arya's wrath was so unleashed the day she met the titilleur (name is in french I don't know it in english).

B/ Frey. The Twins need to burn. All of that family. It's for the greater good really.

C/ I though I was going to say Theon Greyjoy because I truly hated him in the second book. However, he didn't have it easy either didn't he? ... Not going to cry over his misfortunes anyway but there are worse people, beginning with Joffrey. I've never been happier reading a book than we was collapsing from the poison during his wedding. Cheers mate!

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?

Lord Baelish trolling on everyone always makes my day to tell the truth. The chapters where he's present are always highly enjoyable to me. *thinks* It's very difficult to choose because I love everything about those four books. Every moment, every character. I hated the red wedding but it was so ... intense and I felt like I was there and all I wanted was shout "no no no". It's certainly not my favourite part but it was one of the most vivid one.
The battle at the Wall too. Sansa making Winterfell with snow made me cried as her every chapter when she was still in King's Landing. And Daenarys giving birth" to the dragons had me in awe.

Really, it's impossible to choose ^^.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?

Trusting GRRM about this. I wouldn't mind Sansa or Rickon ruling the Westeros though ^^. And I want Sansa to reunite with Jon at one point, just because of the closure it could mean for both of them.

Lannister

Yeah ... I see way more Targaryen than Tyrell here.
