All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

I'd like to live somewhere warm with mild weather. I've lived in Seattle most my life and rain is my absolute least favorite thing at the moment. My ideal home would be in a city, probably a penthouse apartment with a nice view. I like to watch people walking to work each morning, so something that faces a major street would please me. As for the interior, I don't need much. I'd probably really enjoy one of those penthouses that's just one gigantic room and a separate bathroom. Imagine how easy vacuuming would be. Also, I would like a huge bathtub, a bunk-bed and a bunch of workout equipment.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

1) For my family to be financially secure forever. We don't have to be rich, but I never want them to worry about medical bills or rent or food.
2) To be famous. Yeah, I want to be famous, it's a terrible thing to wish for. I'd prefer to be famous for my acting, my writing, my drawing, something along those lines, but I wouldn't look down on being famous as a reality star.
3) That people would stop hating other people based on their race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, sex, gender, size and appearance in general. People piss me off on a daily basis, but that's because a lot of people are dickwads. So I would wish the only reason anyone had to hate anyone else was because they were a dickwad.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

Graduating from university. I went to a school that's very hard to be accepted to and got decent grades. I didn't break my neck, because I'm not a person who obsesses over my GPA, but I found several mentors that really helped shape me. They were proud when I got my diploma, I could see it on their faces. Making them care about me enough to be proud is my greatest accomplishment.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.

If I'm being completely honest, pleasure, probably. I come from a very small, disconnected family. I don't have many friends because the times that I had tons of friends made me miserable. I care about the people close to me, but I wouldn't say that friends and family are concepts I dwell on. Pleasure, however, is very important. I can't camp, so living somewhere comfortable is important. I like to dress up, but high heels and restrictive clothing will put me in the worst mood. I'm happiest when I'm in my pyjamas watch a good movie, reading a good book or laughing with someone. Every profession I've ever dreamed of becoming hinges on pleasure (not in a dirty way okay). So, pleasure is very important to me.

I think I care the least about love, as I don't really believe in it. I don't want to get into much detail, but pure, true ~love~ is just not something I search out anymore.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.

"For we are like olives: only when we are crushed do we yield what is best in us." -The Talmud

Though pleasure is my most valued thing on that list, I recognize that no one will do anything important sitting in their nice house, feeling nice and comfortable. If you don't put yourself on the line, you'll be boring your entire life and never provide the world with anything, except for maybe a cautionary tale. So be brave and allow yourself to be crushed every now and again!

Though olives are pretty delicious uncrushed, too...

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.

I'm very cheap. I check my bank account daily, I've argued with tellers about which type of account will benefit me the most, I cut out coupons and hunt for sales when I go to the grocery store. I think I manage my money well, but I could learn to have more fun with it. As to the second question, financial security is very important to me. Things creep up and if you don't have the money to deal with them, you're screwed. I like to know I can handle the occasional expense.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?

I love to write, draw, cook (without a recipe- I hate following recipes), go to concerts, watch movies, walk in the park. I'm not a very physical person, but I do like the endorphin rush you get after going to the gym. Music and literature are my antidrugs and I can hardly function if I don't have my iPod on and there isn't a book in my purse.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

1) Dying suddenly. I frequently wake up at night thinking that I'm about to be shot through the wall or I'm going to have a brain aneurysm or something. I'm kind of a paranoid person.
2) Things with too many legs. Spiders, centipedes, millipedes, some sea creatures. Why do they have so many legs and why does that terrify me? I don't know.
3) Rejection. I never call people on the phone or strike up conversations with strangers because I'm convinced that I'm going to be an unwanted social obligation.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.

Best:
1) I'm pretty intelligent. I've been called witty, droll and insightful multiple times and those aren't words most people just throw around. I feel like I've been getting stupider since I graduated high school, but would still consider myself more than averagely intelligent.
2) I'm artistic. It's not just that I can draw and occasionally write something that doesn't make me want to curl into the fetal position and sob, but I can appreciate the world around me artistically. I frequently get weird looks on the street because I'll stop walking and just stare at something, or decide I want to Snoopy-dance to work or class because the air is so crisp and lovely. This probably makes me sound like a hipster tool, but it's the truth and I don't do these things for anyone else, I do them because they make me happy.
3) I'm cautious. This could also be a bad trait, but I'm discerning when it comes to my safety and the safety of people around me. That's not to say I haven't done a lot of stupid stuff, but I always know I'm being stupid and am trying to think 8 steps ahead. Or I'm drunk, in which case I'm just being stupid.

Worst:
1) I'm very crass. I have no idea how many times I've deleted cuss words from this app and one or two have probably slipped in anyway. Sorry. I also have virtually no filter, so I embarrass myself in public quite a bit. Actually, I mostly just embarrass whoever is with me.
2) I'm neurotic. I worry about most everything without cause. It's a bad quality, because, let's take a terminal illness for example. I worry about getting a terminal illness every time I eat something, drink something, microwave something, go through that scanner at the airport, etc., but if I got a terminal illness? I think I'd be very chill in accepting it. I fear the possibility of terrible things more than I fear actual things, which is pretty dumb.
3) I get jealous easily. I'm one of those people who says, 'If I'm not the best, I'm not going to do it!' I've given up so many hobbies because of that tendency and I hate it. I wish I could just be happy doing something that makes me happy, but I can't.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?

1) Daenerys. Dany is my light, my fire, my homegirl. Her journey from this character you expect to get tossed around like a ragdoll forever to the biggest BAMF in the series is inspirational. I'm not a person who is big into fantasy, so the fact that I can be inspired by a character in what's largely considered a fantasy series is awesome.
2) Tyrion. Everyone loves Tyrion. He's such a wonderful character. He has his flaws, he accepts them and doesn't let anyone bring him down. And the scene in A Clash of Kings where he keeps insulting Cersei and she keeps slapping him is one of my favorite moments in the series.
3) Petyr. He's an awful person, but I have a bad habit of loving awful fictional characters. Without spoiling anyone, if Petyr gives someone advice, they should take it. And if Petyr is gone for an extended period of time, he's probably busy effing your stuff up.

2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?

1) Jon Snow. I haven't finished the books that are out yet, but I don't understand the love for him at all. He's kind of an idiot and uses every opportunity he can to whine. Even when he's being rewarded, he whines. Uggh, Jon, stop whining.
2) Theon, but who doesn't hate Theon? He's also a huge whiner and whenever I got to one of his chapters I had to fight the urge to skip ahead. His family is right, he's useless.
3) Cersei. She's a horrible, horrible person and, while I probably could list some redeeming qualities, I don't want to. There are characters that do worse things than Cersei, but none of them make me grit my teeth like she does.

3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?

Probably Viserys' crowning. It's disgusting, but it was the first time that the book made me actually say 'OH SNAP' and read furiously to find out what happened next. I love that the series has that ability, that I'll lose myself for hours and hours trying to get to the aftermath of one event in one character's chapter. That moment is also when you see Dany's strength for the first time. She doesn't lose her mind when her brother is brutally murdered in front of her. She accepts it and moves on. And, while I'll be very sad when Harry Lloyd and his Viserys aren't in the TV show anymore, I did a dance in my head when Viserys died.

4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?

Dany is the queen of everything. The End.

I love Dany and Westeros needs someone who is level-headed to rule it. Dany might have her moments of insanity, but she gets things done. Aside from that, I'm sure I'll be happy with however GRRM ends the series.

You are such a Tyrell, with a side of Targ maybe. The focus on pleasure and being intelligent. Plus I could see Loras as a reality star xD

And I get way too excited when someone else lists Jon as least favorite!

I read your app in the queue and was thinking Tyrell all the way through, and then I read it again and I can see Martell as well, and even shades of Lannister. But the vibe feels more Tyrell to me than any of the others, so going with my first impression.

If House Baratheon was on the list, I'd put you there. That thing about hating people because they're dickwads sounds like something Robert would say. But it ain't, so Tyrell.

Your least favorite characters are more or less my own, though Cersei's irredeemable evilness is what makes her redeemable in my opinion. How much more horrible can a woman get?

Tyrell, no doubt about it. Perhaps with a touch of Lannister. Your fondness for the pleasures in life and how they make you happy, including your quote all decided it for me. Everything else just falls in to place.

I'm admittedly sorting really quickly because I'm seriously pushed for time this week, but I'm overall just getting a Lannister vibe from this.

I can see where the Tyrell votes are coming from but just the way you come across and approach things, combined with the intelligence/fame or infamy/pleasure/character choices/brave not boring thing in your quote explanation all swung me to Lannister.

Also uh, I actually totally like Theon >.>

*reads comments* Whoa.

I actually didn't see Tyrell. I saw more of a Martell/Targaryen/Lannister mix. The first half of your app made me think of Martell -- your wishes, your answer to 4. But then I started seeing some Targaryen (your fears, your greatest accomplishment), and also Lannister (your best & worst traits, mostly, but also fearing rejection, desire to be famous, etc.). I'll go with Lannister.

Yeah, I'm reading all of these comments and scratching my head, too. I never once thought Tyrell when I was reading your app. *shrug*

To me, you're Lannister. I kept almost flipping over to Greyjoy, because I think you have a brutal honesty that the Lannisters are better at hiding, but overall I think the lions suit you better. And I did think Baratheon for a hot minute, too, because of that directness and the feeling that you've got no patience for bullshit. :) (But since I can't vote you Baratheon anyway, it doesn't matter... :) )

Woohoo. I imagine that's me for how you found us if you saw it here (http://shotgundivorce.livejournal.com/222013.html) with the four comments in that post? Score. Mods, my claim. ;P The post is f-locked but this one posts there right after me. Hallo thar.

As for sorting, warm and mild reminds me of Catelyn talking about the difference between the rain up North and where she grew up. I never got how Riverrun could be seen as particularly South, but I guess it is. So Tully or Tyrell spring up as potentials for house position, perhaps. Less so Tully on the city front, Lannisters, Targs and Martells seeming to have the more thriving cities.

"Making them care enough about me to be proud," caring about people close to you, preferring to be comfy, but then also pleasure on the side over the rest, hmmh... I'm still getting Tyrell, something not seeming passionate enough for Martell pleasures. Tyrion wants to make people care enough about him to be proud, but never got that from his father.

I personally find olives taste disgusting, but being crushed = growing strong. Tyrell. How you handle finances could be more Tully, Stark or Lannister maybe. Hate following recipes and endorphin rushes could have some Martell, but there are characters in other houses who follow similar suit. Jaime's a bit of a "fools rush in, do it how I feel" person, for one. Fear of rejection is also very Lannister and we are the canon house of witty and droll.

Unrelatedly, I keep doing the "stop and look at things" dance as well, so it's certainly not beyond Lannisters. Cautious moves can apply to Tywin and Tyrion when he has to watch his moves, but otherwise it's perhaps more Stark types that get pegged for such a thing. Until you point out it's thinking 8 steps ahead, in which case we're back in Doran Martell or Tywin Lannister territories.

Crass is Tyrion Lannister, who's no stranger to being drunk for the earlier bit, I guess. Neurotic goes for Cersei to some extent, otherwise maybe Targaryen or Stark? I can't see a neurotic Tyrell if it kills me, and you said you weren't fond of "crowds" around you. Wishing to be the best could hint at Targaryen or Lannister. More Lannister on the "Fine, I'm not playing then if I'm not the greatest thing since sliced bread" side? It seems to reflect the fear of rejection type things, too.

Please finish the books, you're wont to get spoiled in here even in mere applications. Having just read the bit where Jon ends up on the steward side of the Night's Watch, I have to agree with you on the whining from everyone I dislike in the first book at least. Your favourites don't fight against sorting you into Lannister or Targs, but that mention of loving awful characters seems to lean more our way.

My first instinct was Lannister, in part because of how you communicate: you're blunt. But as I read on, I was swayed, first toward Targaryen, then toward my final decision: Tyrell. You are very reminiscent of Loras, who, of course, is also blunt. Your positive and negative traits are a bit Targaryen, but you just aren't that nuts. And the affection you have for mentor-figures is certainly Tyrell! As is your modesty. :)

I do see the Tyrell votes - as [livejournal.com profile] tantdetentation mentioned, I see a sort of Loras vibe, which also sort of fits the "I'd vote you Baratheon" comments, since Loras is very much a product of this mentorship by/relationship with Renly.

However, in the end, I think the sum of your app leans more Lannister - Tyrion with a touch of both Jaime's snark and Genna's frankness.
