Win or Die
Please Read ^^;: Some people expressed concern that my answers did not give them much to go on, even that it seemed as though I hadn't read the rules. I've gone through my personal answers and made an effort to elaborate on them more in hopes that they give you a better idea of what I am like. I'm sorry if some of you didn't think my answers were appropriate, which is why I went back now and expanded on my thoughts. Thanks you guys! I hope this makes it easier and if not, please feel free to tell me what I can improve in my application to ease the sorting process for you guys. ^_^

All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
I have no ideal place, every area has its pros and cons. I wouldn't want a big home, something small for me, I'd fill a large place up with too much junk. I do love cold weather though. I like to get lots of blankets on my bed and make myself into a warm burrito-blanket-bed thing. I would love somewhere with wonderful cool wind. Also, since I've grown up in the city my whole life, I'd love a place where I can actually see the stars at night. I've always wanted to see the Northern Lights too. But on the same token, when I visited Hawaii a few years ago, I could imagine myself living there as well as the South of France. But if I had to chose hot over cold, I'd chose cold. I've always wanted to visit Alaska, though I don't know if a solitary life like in that region is for me.
2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
1) I would wish for more tolerance among people in today's world. For people to take the time to understand each other. I believe so many of the world's problems would be solved if people could find it in themselves to set aside their own preset ideas and not just listen to the dissenting voices, but actually give them consideration.
2) I would wish for people to slow down and look around at the world and see everything that they can about what is happening, and that it might spark people into working to fix the problems we face. So many of us, I myself am guilty of this at times too, just turn our eyes from the suffering, injustice, and pure horrors that occur in our world. We do it because it's so hard to actually sit and look at how perverse our world, and our species, can be. To turn away is easier, it lets you sleep at night, and live a relatively happy existence (and I'm not saying it's bad). What is hard is to see what the world really is, let it sink into you, let it become a part of yourself. If you can, then I believe it would be impossible to sit back and do nothing. I believe those who opened their eyes and hearts would take it upon themselves to change our world and fix all the wrongs we've let others exploit and get away with. I think it takes a strong soul to sit and see the horror of the world, because there are so few who can and not lose themselves.
3) And I guess I wish I could go back to the "me" of many years ago to help myself prevent some of the misery I've caused myself, because the footprints I've left behind don't define me at all, and I want them to. IE, I'm not proud of many of the marks I've left behind and I don't want, when I'm gone, for those footprints I'm ashamed of to be what defines my life.
3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
One of my greatest sources of pride is that I was able to achieve a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, and I was only the 3rd girl in my school's history to do that - the first caucasian.
4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.
Of what is most important, there is no way I can decide on just one. One doesn't outweigh another because they all effect each other. Love, Knowledge, Family, and Friendship all weigh in high. If you have no family or friends, then you can't know love, and to be able to understand the importance of the three you need knowledge. With all of those, you can have as much adventure and pleasure as on can imagine. I love having adventures, but I don't want to have them alone. So that is where friendship, family, and love come in. And of course, if you're going to go on an adventure, you know to have knowledge about what you're doing or you could serious hurt yourself. So, again, friendship, family, love and knowledge are again tied together to make having any adventure a truly fun as you can! Pleasure is sort of an exception because I can find simple pleasures by myself, love reading (reading the Legend of Drizzt right now), sewing, etc. But the greatest pleasure I have is the time I get to hang out with my friends and loved ones. The pleasure and joy I get from my friends and loved ones out weighs any joy I can think of. So, I really think that friendship, family, love, and knowledge lead to greater adventure and the greatest pleasure. As for the least important, money is the easiest. Sure, having lots is wonderful. But I could live my whole life making enough money to survive as long as I was doing what I love (which requires lots of knowledge) and had the people important to me there.
5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.
"Well behaved women rarely make history." - Laurel Thatcher Ulrich
That sort of explains itself. Even in this era, women have to be out spoken to an extreme, push their views hard, and even break the rules to what they think is right, or to make their voices heard. Playing by the rules is always advised, but is not always the right thing to do.
6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.
I have a horrible time managing money. I'm barely independent, I scrape to get by, but it's alright for me. I'm enjoying what I'm currently doing, and eventually I'll be able to go back to school and go into the career field I dream of. I'd love to be financially secure, but to me, other things are more important. As long as I can get by, even if it's just pay check to paycheck, I'm content at this point in my life. I get to do some amazing things, and I love doing them. If I were sitting at some desk worrying about a 401K, I'd be miserable.
7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
I enjoy working out, re-training in Taekwondo (I had a knee injury), I love to play video games, I enjoy sewing and creating original designs for my portfolio. I've been a part of a extremely successful web-series, providing modeling for it, make-up, and costume creation. I'm a huge nerd and love to immerse myself in my many fandoms. I enjoy messing with my two cats and my dog, as well as wasting time online. But I love hanging out with my friends, especially when we're working on various projects together.
8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
1) Losing my mother. My mother is a person who I can't define in words, she is that important to me. I would have been lost many years ago without her support. The very idea of losing her can being me to tears.
2) Creepy supernatural movies (I live alone). So, when I watch them all alone, when I go to bed, I lie there and I think about the creepy parts and freak myself out for no reason. It's so silly because if I lived with someone it wouldn't be a problem at all, lol
3) Disappointing my clients and/or friends. By clients I mean people who hire me to create specific garments for them. Most of my clients have always been friends of friends, so I try to put out my best work for them, depending on their price range. That way, they may want to hire me in the future, which will help my theatre costume portfolio and earn me more money. If the client is not happy, there are many places online for them to go verbally rip apart my work, saying how horrible it was, and advising people to never commission from me again. The online community for this type of thing can be beyond brutal, and catty doesn't even begin to describe it. These type of "critiques" go viral and my reputation in this community where most commissions come from would be ruined and I've worked hard for the last 9 years to keep myself away from such drama. As for disappointing my friends, that's one of my quirks. I always want to help my friends out whenever I can, in fact I'll spend money and go out of my way just to help out a friend who needs it. So if I were to disappoint them in anything regarding my behavior or lack of involvement in a project, I'd be extremely upset at myself. I value my true friends greatly.
9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.
This is a hard one x_x
My WORST are:
1) I procrastinate pretty bad at times
2) I can be overly, and at times, obnoxiously, outspoken and stubborn. I'm definitely the kind of person who says what I mean. Lots of people find that obnoxious and while I don't want people thinking I'm obnoxious, my personality trait that has lead some to think that has also been admired by others and has let me meet some amazing famous people in my time. It's sort of a double edged sword. But while I can be just the right amount of obnoxious, outspoken and stubborn, sometimes I can go over board with it.
3) Sometimes I don't think before I speak and either say something cruel, or what I say isn't what I really mean. Sometimes my thoughts get jumbled and they spill out before I properly place them to mean what I'm thinking in my head. And when I don't sit and think about what I should say and just let emotions take over, some nasty and cruel things can come out, which I tend to regret later. This mostly happens with my family, but it's still a trait I wish I could have learned to control when I was younger.
My BEST (I think) are:
1) I'm very loyal to my friends. I will bend over backwards for them, and I'll always be there for them if they need me, always.
2) I'm never judgemental of people I don't know; I always wait until I know them before I form an opinion. I don't let people's gossip allow me to form an opinion of someone before I get to know the person and form one myself.
3) I take direction very well and am a very fast learner. I'm also a strong visual learner.
A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?
It's hard to pin them down, lol
Arya Stark (she's the easiest): I find her incredibly resiliant and her trials and growth in the series captivates me. That way Martin manages to write the horror this 11 year old girl has had to endure is amazing. Yet her own, unknown, strength of character keeps her going, even when she believes she's lost everything she's ever known. I just love her. I sort of relate because at times I feel like I'm a mouse when I don't want to be. Plus she's a warg, and that is -awesome-
Jon Snow: Mostly because everything beyond the wall is so amazingly well written and I love the story arc that is told through his eyes. He's very relatable in that he's still just a teenager who is thrust into this deadly conflict. Plus he's a warg too, but unlike Bran, I find his chapters far more interesting.
Jaime Lannister: I LOVE the growth of his character. I don't love the incest, but I love the man and what he had become by the end of book 4. I think that he truely does have a mind like Tyrion, but his own vanity clouded it, as well as Cersei's influence. Through his trial to return to King's Landing, and then what become of his world when he got there, it seems like the fog began to clear, and his OWN cunning and ideas of what is just came through. A perfect example of this is his seige of Riverrun, where he kept his oath Catelyn.
2.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?
Asha: She's stale, boreing, and (to me) your A-typical tomboy girl trying desperately to be a "son". I really dislike her. I can't really explain without picking up the books and pointing out exact points, but I really just don't like her.
Catelyn: Though so many important events happen through her, I cannot stand what a hypocrite she is. She goes on and on about how much she loves her children, but abandons her SIX year old son to the care of chamber maids, as well as her crippled 8 year old son who has to act as lord. She claims Robb needs her but after first exchange with the Freys, he doesn't. She can't just let him grow up. He's surrounded by combat hardened men, even her own uncle and brother, but she MUST be with him. I understand she wants to be with her father when he dies, but she essentially abandoned Bran and Rickton, and I have no doubt, should Rickton stay around, he wont think to fondly of his selfish, needy, pathetic mother.
Lysa Aryn: I was glad she's dead. I'm sure this one doesn't need too much explaining.
3.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?
When Dany walked into Khal Drogo's funeral pyre and hatch the dragon eggs. There are many many events I love as well, like when Arya lets the North take Harrenhal, but Daenerys becoming "The Unburnt" was so epic. Where the Red Wedding was shocking and I thrw my book across the room, still not as epic. I also LOVED at the end of the Dornish saga in Feast how Prince Martell reveals his true plans to get back at the Lannisters. But the Dany part is still more epic.
4. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?
I don't want to imagine how it will end! Specualting is fun, but there's no way I want to imagine how it would end. I want Martin is surprise me like he always does, and I want to have those moments where I put the book down and have to let certain events register. I'd love to see our young teens grow up, that's about the only wish I have for the series. I want to see young adult Jon, Sansa, Arya, Daenerys, Bran, Rickton, Loras(?), Margaery, Gendry, ect...!! That's my only hope for it... provided they're alive ::coughlorascough::
