It's funny -- Catelyn's not on my list of very favorites, and sometimes I think her defensiveness goes a little too far (especially with regards to Jon Snow), but the way she's something of a stereotypical medieval wife/mother while still being a fairly equal partner with Ned and an intelligent, active woman in her own way, really appeals to me.
