How did you find out about the community? If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is: [livejournal.com profile] deeplyunhip mentioned this community a few times, but I've also seen it mentioned in some of the ASOIAF communities I'm part of.
Age: 22
Location: Germany, but I'm originally from Canada.
Occupation: Apprentice pastry chef.

All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
My ideal home is located somewhere in central Canada, on a lake (so I could listen to the loons!). I'd prefer it in the deep forest, but not so deep that I couldn't easily reach a large town or a small city. Big windows with bay seating, high ceilings and hardwood floors are a must. The house also requires a modern kitchen, a warm conservatory for my orchids and a rather large library, but otherwise, I'm not so fussy about the rooms in the house itself (as long as the furniture and decorations are tasteful). I like modern conveniences, but I like to disguise them so they're not obvious. Also, any breakables or relatively chewable looking things would be behind (glass) doors and high up - I like having puppies, birds and other small, slimy, scaly creatures in my home. Also, there would be a giant fish pond in the house, probably in the conservatory.

2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
a. The dark. I have an over-active imagination, and anything can shelter a mad, axe-wielding maniac in the dark. I especially hate walking through museums in the dark.
b. Going on boats and bridges. I'm terrified that they'll break and I'll fall in the water below. I'm a good swimmer, but I can't swim forever.
c. Anything found on land with more than four legs. God, how I hate cockroaches and spiders. Hate and fear.

3. What is your favourite aspect of your physical appearance and why?
I like my hair. It's dark, soft, fine and not ridiculously thick. It also recovers quickly from anything I inflict upon it - I could bleach it bone white and it would still be soft as silk the next day. Now, if only I could figure out how to style my hair...

4. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance, what would you change and why?
I'd probably drop a few pounds. I waver between being comfortable with myself and hating my legs and chest. Ugh, wobbly.

5. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
a. A comfortable lifestyle for myself and my family, for the rest of our lives.
b. The perfect location for my ridiculously successful bakery in the exact place I want it, fully renovated and decorated the way I want it.
c. Superpowers. Not just one, but all the ones I want, and the ability to use them at will or completely ignore their existence. The list includes, but is not limited to, putting people on mute, laser vision, cake decorating skills, flying...

6. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Getting out of my hokey little town and moving to a big city on the other side of the world. I have more goals in life, but I'm proud of myself for getting out, learning a new language and expanding my horizons.

7. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?
Family, knowledge, adventure, love and money are all high on my list, with family in the lead and the others kinda mixed up behind. Friendship and pleasure are at the bottom of my list, since I'm a rather solitary person and a bit serious.

8. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?
"Always expect the worst, and you will never be disappointed." -Peter Wastholm
That's a bit pessimistic, but it's how I approach any new situation or person.

9. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?
Poorly. I'm doing better now that I've made some colossal financial errors, but I have no debt.. yet. Financial security is very important to me, since I rather enjoy having a roof over my head and being able to sleep at night. When I have financial issues, it tends to drive me towards a mental breakdown.

10. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favourite things to do outside of school/the office?
I love baking, enough that I plan to make a career out of it. I like making crafts of all sorts (beading, sewing, etc..), painting, drawing, and I want to learn how to crochet and knit. I spend a lot of time with animals (dogs, especially), and I used to do a lot of horseback riding when I was younger. I haven't done that in ages, though. Reading is also a passion of mine, and I'm a gamer.

11. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).
Best:
a. I'm a very determined person, and even if a set-back throws me off course for a while, sheer determination keeps me going.
b. I'm also an honest person. I don't like lying and will leave out bits of the truth to avoid lying. If I feel that there's no other option but to be dishonest, I usually feel like crap about it. I believe in karma, and that kind of crap always comes back to bite a person in the ass.
c. I'm a curious person and always willing to try something new, whether it's travelling to a foreign place or trying a food I've never had before.

Worst:
a. I have a short temper, and it doesn't take much to set it off. When I get angry, the whole world knows it - I yell, throw things around and slam doors. I can be a downright unholy terror when I'm really ticked off.
b. While determination is a quality of mine, it often turns into sheer pig-headedness. If someone orders me to do something, I'll often do the opposite of what I'm told and balk at doing anything but that.
c. I have a short attention span and get fed up with things easily. If it's not interesting, I don't care, which turned my studies at university into a catastrophe.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.Which is your favourite book of the series so far? What about your least favourite?
A Storm of Swords is my favourite of the three. There was so much action in it, and it moved me deeply. I found A Feast for Crows a bit dry, though, but still interesting.

2.Who are your favourite three characters in the series?
a. Arya Stark; She's spunky and spirited, and I really feel for her. I can see a bit of my childhood self in her, minus the assassinations and murder.
b. Doran Martell: I admire his patience and cunning, and how nothing can shake his plans.
c. Bran Stark: He has his father's qualities despite being so young, and I enjoy his chapters a lot. I hope he survives beyond the Wall, and come back to rebuild Winterfell.

3.Who are your least favourite three characters in the series?
a. Roose Bolton: I want him to be eaten by his slimy little friends.
b. Joffrey Lannister Baratheon: I was so happy when he died. But so sad that his death wasn't a little more painful.
c. Littlefinger: He needs to be torn apart by squirrels. I admire his cunning, but I want him dead.

4.#1 Favourite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?
The scene where Robb is crowned the King in the North. The North is more unified in that moment than the South will ever be, and I love the Greatjon's speech.

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?
Cersei is burned as a witch, Dany sacrifices herself beyond the Wall and her dragons fly off to roast the Freys and Littlefinger, then disappear from Westeros forever. Bran rules the North and the Riverlands from Winterfell, Jon stays on the Wall, and Shireen takes the Iron Throne as the last surviving Baratheon.

I was thinking Stark at the beginning of the application. Then I thought your description of your time at university reminded me of Oberyn. But [livejournal.com profile] etrangere makes a good point that it is also very Arya-like.
