If it's through an LJ user, please tell us who it is (individual user if possible, not just a community name!): I found out about this comm. through a few friends here on lj, mainly being [livejournal.com profile] erethesunrises, [livejournal.com profile] saturninepen, and [livejournal.com profile] madri. They all got sorted on here at around the same time and kept going on about it until I felt left out, and decided I must join the party as well.

All About You

1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.

I would want to be on very high land. I love standing at a window and being able to see all the other homes and the city for miles. I wouldn't want to be too isolated from other homes, though. I don't want to be too close to other people, but I would at least want my home to bee walking distance from others. Also, I definitely want to live in/near a city. My ideal home would actually probably be near a city rather than in one, as the idea of living in a very large, rustic house has always been appealing to me, and I can't imagine one of those being smack-dab in the middle of any city. I've always loved the image of grand staircases, lots of tall, broad windows, and high ceilings. Fireplaces are always good, too, even if they're not in use. I would want the place to be filled with vintage/antique furniture, but not too crowded. I definitely don't want the rooms to be scarce, but I don't want it to be too cozy either? I think there's a good middle-ground somewhere in there. I would still want lots of blankets and pillows all around, and bookcases everywhere. You can never have enough books, it's a fact, and I love the image of tall bookcases surrounding the walls with all of my favorite books stacked in them. In fact, just give me a library. Also, I like the idea of a garden, not too large but not small. It doesn't necessarily have to have many plants, but I just adore the idea of sitting in the dewy grass and reading a book or something. My bedroom would be my favorite spot, though, and I think I would basically want it to just be a miniature version of the rest of the house? Queen-size bed, lots of beautiful blankets and pillows, maybe a soft, not too large rug in the middle of the floor, which I would want to be wood. At least one window, and a fireplace would be nice too. And of course books. All the books.

But yes, geographically, I cannot be too far from a major city. I hate isolation, and I love the feeling of being in a large crowd at least weekly, walking down the street looking at shops and such. I would want to be somewhere where it rains a lot too. I'm not big on sunlight or heat. I like a nice overcast most of the time, and there being rain for at least half the week would be totally cool with me.

2. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Please be as elaborate as you can. Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!

My first wish would be the ability to travel anywhere. And I mean anywhere. Any part of history, and part of the future, in any place on earth, or the rest of the universe for that matter. Just with a snap of my fingers I guess. Although a sexy time machine would be cool too.

My second wish would be for knowledge. Just, to understand anything I hear, so I'd constantly be gathering information. I would especially enjoy this with foreign languages too, I think, because I'm already learning some of them, but I've always wished that I could speak every language there is, from as early as I could remember. So, the ability to hear someone speaking in another language and understand everything they say, and then presumably learn how to speak them myself extremely easily would be awesome.

My third wish would be to not age or die until I choose to. I know that this is seemingly pretty vain and selfish and dangerous, but I feel like I'd be really missing out on the first two wishes if I didn't embrace this one. And I really do think that I would choose to die at one point, because the idea of living forever (whatever that is) seems awful to me.

3. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? Why? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)

I'd say my greatest accomplishment would be how easily I've adapted to the changed in my life. I suppose you could say that's a personality trait, but my life has honestly changed drastically in many different ways many different times, and I've handled it like a champ, really. Maybe I just like change, because I do start to feel sad when I'm in one situation for too long, but some of these changes have honestly been for the worst, and I still feel that I've always managed to see the bright side and embrace them.

4. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you? Please explain why for each choice.

Let me start by saying that this is really hard for me, because I think that may say a lot? Maybe not, whatever. But if I had to choose which one is most important it would probably be love. I was very torn between love and knowledge, but if I had to choose, I'd choose love. I've never been in love with someone, but the idea of it is something I'll admit to romanticizing and hoping for, and I really don't believe that I'll have lived fully until I've experience it. And of course this can extend to platonic love and others, which are very important as well. Now, the one that's least important to me would probably be family. I have a very small family, and many of the members that are alive are, honestly, not very good people, or just entirely absent. I do have some close family members, but if I'm entirely truthful, not of my familial relationships are orthodox. I'm close to my mother, for instance, but she's always been more of a friend to me than a mom? I don't want to get too into it because that's a whole other can of worms, but suffice to say, I don't hold out a lot of hope for the institution that is family, as much as I may love some of my family members. I hope that makes sense.

5. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values? Explain.

O, when she's angry, she is keen and shrewd! She was a vixen when she went to school; And though she be but little, she is fierce. - A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare

I think this really describes me perfectly. I have an awful, awful temper. It's probably one of my worst traits. I'm ridiculously stubborn, and am willing to get into huge fights over tiny things, live film trivia, it's really ridiculous. I'm just not a shy person and am very outgoing and at ease with other people, no matter their gender, age, whatever. And I'm really a very petite person that is fully prepared to get in a fight (usually verbal, but physical has indeed happened), for big and little reasons. However, I feel I should point out that when other people are fighting, I'm really good at being the voice of reason and playing devil's advocate and all that.

6. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you? Go into as much detail as you can.

I'm pretty good at saving, although I do believe in splurging from time to time. I don't think pinching pennies is any way to be, but I do know how to be reasonable with my outgo of money, and how to save responsibly. As for financial security, I was born pretty poor, and have managed to come to a point in my life where I'm very secure, so I'd say pretty important. The idea of being in the same place I was when I was born and growing up is pretty scary to me, although I think I'd cope well enough were it to happen.

7. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?

I love to read, if you hadn't gathered that already. I've just always been a reader, and gathering knowledge has always been important to me as well. I also love the feeling of escaping to another world through literature, and being in another person's shoes. It's the purest form of escapism, I think, and is therefore one of my favorite activities. I also enjoy writing. I love the idea of creating a world that I myself would love to read about, and I hope to really do so one day. I also enjoy staying tuned into pop culture, whether it be watching TV or films. And of course music. I cannot survive without music. I have it playing almost all the time, and I'm not sure what I'd do without it. And yes, I do hang out with friends sometimes and enjoy myself doing so.

8. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.

1) Small spaces. I'm claustrophobic, and the idea of being locked in a closet or any small thing is horrifying to me. This could probably be drawn back to my need to feel free and have change occur regularly and "escape".

2) Drowning. It just seems like a really awful way to go to me. I love to swim, but the thought of not being able to breath, being stuck in the water and choking and just all that comes with it makes me cringe.

3) Darkness. I actually do like for rooms and outdoors to be on the dark side rather than super bright, but if I'm in a pitch-black room by myself and I hear a weird noise, I will freak out. Fear of the unknown, I guess.

9. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical). Please answer as fully as you can, as this is an important question.

Best:

1) I'm very open-minded. I will not judge you based on your gender, age, race, sexual orientation, anything. I am honestly a person that judges based on personality and actions alone. I love experiencing new cultures and opinions, although when it comes to opinions, I will stand by my own if I continue to believe it. Still, I am open to being wrong (even though I do like being right).

2) I'm smart. I don't think this makes me better than anyone else, but I am aware of the fact that I know a lot about many different subjects for my age, and I'm a pretty quick learner. Learning new things is important to me and I'm very intent on doing them right, and I usually can. I'm also very observant, which has helped me on more occasions than I can count.

3) I'm passionate with the things I love. I don't just passively love things. If I love something, I love it, with all my heart, and I will put effort into loving it continually. This can extend from people to books to languages. I'm just very passionate, and I try to extend that to all of the things I love. Still, I am capable of letting go of things need be, which I think comes back to my attitude for change.

Worst:

1) I get bored really easily. Mainly with people, I think? I'm afraid that sometimes this can make me dismissive and possibly even borderline rude, although I'm very capable of being charming and nice and such. I just love change, as I said before, and like I also said before, if I don't really love something or love doing something, I don't see the point in it, and quickly I get exasperated and annoyed and bored.

2) I'm indecisive. I think everyone is, to an extent, but I hate having to choose between things, and of course this is especially hard if it's something I love or cherish for whatever reason. I think this can lead to my temper really acting up, too. Still, I'm capable of being reasonable, but I'm afraid I can be pretty foul about some things.

3) I'm not very forgiving. I'm able to see why people do the things they do, even if they're really awful things, but I still have a hard time forgetting someone's wrongs, whether they be in regards to me or someone else I care about.

A Song of Ice and Fire Related

1.How many books from the series have you completed?

I've read them all but A Dance With Dragons.

2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series? Why?

Heads up, all of these are going to be fairly minor characters.

1) Gendry. He's hands down one of my favorite characters I've come across in the entire series. It's mainly because of his treatment of Arya. How decent of a human being he was was just really impressive to me. I mean, most of the people is Westeros are assholes, so I was like, "Wow, Gendry, good job not telling everyone Arya's not a boy and actually continually being protective of her and following her on her crazy little Arya Stark Journey, A+." And I just find his and Arya's scenes quite sweet and his protectiveness where she is concerned is very noble I think. Also, I find him a very interesting character in that he is one of Robert's bastards, and therefore technically has some sort of right to the throne? I just really hope he makes another (hopefully major) appearance in the series.

2) Bronn. Hear me out. I don't understand Bronn. Let me say now that characters I find ridiculously interesting tend to be my favorites, regardless of moral standings? I can't really explain this properly, but all I know is that I want to see more of him and hopefully further interaction with Tyrion.

3) Ygritte. I just loved her so much. I love her whole attitude as a Free Woman and just her interactions with everyone, whether it be Jon or the other Wildlings, are delightful to me. I find her clever and funny and free-spirited and just absolutely badass, and I really miss her. She's really just a good example of the kind of person I try to be.

3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series? Why?

1) Gregor Clegane AKA The Mountain. Pretty obvious, but I just have absolutely no sympathy for sociopath ass-wads like himself, and I hate him with a fury. Everything he's ever done is absolutely unforgivable to me, and I hate him. That's pretty much it.

2) Joffrey. Again, obvious, but dear god the hate I feel for this boy with a fiery passion, and the absolute joy I experienced when he died were overwhelming. He's another character that I find completely irredeemable, and due to that, uninteresting, and I and everyone else don't want him around.

3) Theon. Okay, I know he's conflicted, I get it, I do. But everything he's ever done has pissed me off and has been really awful, and just thinking about doing the right thing and being conflicted doesn't make your shitty actions okay. Also, I enjoy recalling that one time when he thought about how awesome of a ruler he was going to be while getting a blowjob. I did actually find it hilarious, but I think it's a really good example of how entirely self-absorbed he is. I mean. Really, Theon. Really.

4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far? Why?

I love Arya and Gendry's (and Hot Pie's) adventures. I've already touched on the fact that I love their relationship, and that has a lot to do with it, as does the fact that I find Arya's progression very interesting, especially when she's kicking it with other characters I really enjoy.

I also really like Sansa's development in general. I know this isn't technically a moment, but how far she's come has just been one of my favorite things to read about throughout the series, and I can't wait to read more with her.

5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end, and why?

I love me some Dany, but I'm not sure how I feel about her ending up on the throne. She'd be a good ruler, but I don't think she's entirely ready, at least at the point I'm at, to rule Westeros. Let me just say though, that everyone seems to want some Jon/Dany interaction, and I am no exception. Just throwing that out there. But really, I just want all the living Starks to reunite, kick ass, and one of them getting the throne would be 100% okay with me. Honestly though, I'm one of those people that could kind of care less who ends up on the thrones, as long as the Starks get the north. And as long as it's interesting/plausible. I'll be having no Hodor on my Iron Throne. I hope this has been a suitable answer.

I'm going with Targaryen for you :) Though let me just say, I think we'll get along splendidly. I don't think there was a thing you said I could disagree with :D

Anyways, back to the sorting! You seem to have a fairly fire-y personality (excuse the pun) a desire for something greater than what you have that strikes me as very Targ like

I'm dragging myself out of a headache-and-nap induced coma to vote you Tyrell. I STILL SAY ARRYN for whatever reason but that's not an option, so you get Tyrell with a side of Martell.

Welcome bb ♥!

Urgh, you putting your family as least important is really throwing me on my vote but I'm still going to say Tyrell because with how well I know you, that's what my instinct still says and I'm sticking with it.

I went back and forth between Tully and Tyrell, but ultimately, I think you're a good fit for Tyrell.

[TYRELL]

[identity profile] sephystabbity.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
At the start, I thought you might be the second Martell I'm seeing this batch, because of your favourite character and grudgey nature and valuing open-mindedness as a good trait.

But then your thought about being right in the middle of things and valuing the social atmosphere of a bustling city tells me you're more a fit for a Lannister or Tyrell. I think Lannister barely edges out the Tyrell here, because you seem to value love and have romantic notions of it, and to me that's not very Tyrell but very, very Lannister. Off to the lions you go then ; )

[TARGARYEN]

[identity profile] l-vestrit.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
You strike me very much as a Tyrell from the beginning to the end. The description of your ideal house and the whole answer to q.3 screams «Growing Strong» to me.

I can't help but see Targaryen here. You describe yourself as passionate with a fiery temper and there's something else I can't quite put my finger on that makes me think the dragons would be best for you. There's just something about you that kind of reminds me of Dany and I can't say what it is really.

Oh, wow, such a Targaryen! Your ideal house had me thinking Winterfell/Riverrun, but your second and third wishes seem to fit well with the Targs, and then I got to your feelings on love and your quote, and yep. The traits were just the cherry on top of this very Targaryen sundae. Besides, I think Dragonstone could work well for your home as well, and that is, traditionally, the Targ seat after all. ;)

[MARTELL]

[identity profile] astraeas-world.livejournal.com 2012-07-04 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm caught somewhere between a Sarella Sand-style Martell and a Targaryen - the temperamental side is Martell, and the wishes for travel and learning made me think of Sarella. But then the desire for love, the passion, and the fire is all so very Targaryen. Ultimately, I think the Targaryen edges out Martell, but barely.
