You're not the only one that has made the observation, but I don't think that that necessarily makes it accurate. For the one instance you named I can recall a handful of others where she waits until she's behind closed doors to say anything at all, just for the specific purpose of coddling men's pride. You can dislike whomever you want, but I don't think it makes sense to invent facts because you find someone tiresome.
I wasn't saying that Davos and Cat's stories are the same; they can't be because Davos' family is exempt from the game and Cat's isn't. But they both act as doubting thomases to their respective kings, but Cat is the one seen as an ___insert female-specific stereotype pertaining to nag/shrew/etc___ while Davos is hailed for speaking sense to Stannis.
It just seems odd to me that GRRM is trying to show how unfair it is that women have to take care to shut up around men, and as many fans as they do end up reacting by wanting her to shut up around men ...
