All About You
1. Describe your ideal house/home. Please go into as much detail as possible, and be sure to include your ideal geographical location in the description!.
My ideal house would be a tower. Like, a modified castle-y watchtower from Ye Olden Dayes. Each floor would be a different room—the living room on one floor, a bedroom on another, etc. The top couple of floors would be given over to the keeping of clothes, fabric, books, movies, and random stuff that can’t go anywhere else in the house. All the rooms would be accessible from a spiral staircase, but they’d all have lockable doors for privacy’s sake.
Oh, and there would be pets. Most likely cats and small fluffy rodents. And bats. And maybe a snake.
The tower would be located in the mountains, because I love heights. However, it’d have to be relatively close to a large-ish town/ city/ greater metropolitan area; I like my alone time, but I’d probably go crazy if I didn’t see people on a semi-regular basis. Plus, can you imagine what a pain it would be shipping groceries to a remote mountain location? As to geographical location, anyplace with a climate that actually changes with the seasons is fine, though I’d rather it be somewhere where I speak one of the languages
2. Name three things you are afraid of. Explain.
~Failure. “What if my thesis sucks?” “What if I fail my classes and can’t graduate on time?” “What if I get stuck in a low-paying soul-sucking job because the economy sucks and knowledge of the Trojan War isn’t a marketable skill?” “What if I have to move back home and become a basement-dwelling cliché?” All these things are constantly on my mind. It doesn’t help that I have a bit of an ego.
~Driving. A combination of getting into a fender-bender, having no practice with driving during school, and being told “lol, you’re a terrible driver” repeatedly by family members has made me afraid to drive most places by myself. Irrational, I know… but aren’t most fears?
~Large pictures of people. Er, this one is mildly neurotic. I’m fine if the people are small, or looking off to the side, or have their eyes closed. But posters where the people’s faces are huge and they are STARING INTO THE ROOM AND FOLLOWING ME WITH THEIR EYES? Do not want! It makes it impossible to change clothes!
3. What is your favorite aspect of your physical appearance and why?
This is probably the most clichéd answer ever, but I’m going to say my eyes. They’re wide, but not so wide that I look like a lemur, and they do weird color-changing things from green to grey.
4. If you could change one thing about your physical appearance, what would you change and why?
My chin. (Random answer makes up for the boringness of the prior answer!) It’s shaped fine, but it’s so weak. It’d balance out my nose better if it was a bit stronger.
5. Imagine you’re given the classic opportunity: a genie granting you three wishes. What would you wish for? Wishing for more wishes is not permitted!
Wish #1: A constant supply of money—not so I could live it up, but so I could do whatever I wanted occupation-and hobby-wise and not worry about having to live in a cardboard box.
Wish #2: “World peace” is trite, and temporary besides. I’d settle for “fix all the global WTFery brought about by Cold War-era power struggles.” Fewer international headaches that way.
Wish #3: To fly like Superman. Shut up, it’s a totally mature and awesome wish.
6. In your life so far, what accomplishment are you the most proud of? You can list more than one if you have trouble deciding. ;)
Hmm… well, a couple semesters ago, my grades pretty much failed. Literally. So the next semester, I changed my major, made myself do the work, and brought them up to a respectable level again. Had I not succeeded in that, things would've been... quite bad. So I feel justified in being proud of myself.
7. Which of the following is most important to you: Love, Money, Knowledge, Family, Friendship, Adventure, or Pleasure? Which is the least important to you?
I’d rate friendship as the most important. Knowledge can be found anywhere, money can be earned, friendship brings adventure, and family members are blah unless you share friendships as well as genes with them. I’m going to say love is the least important. Since both family and friendship are already listed, I assume it refers strictly to romantic love, and that’s not high on my priority list.
8. What's one quote (or passage, song lyric, etc.) that effectively describes you and your values?
“I have no heart? - Perhaps I have not;
But then you're mad to take offence
That I don't give you what I have not got:
Use your own common sense.”
~Christina Rossetti, “No, Thank You, John”
9. How do you manage your money? On that note, how important is money/financial security to you?
I think I manage it pretty well. I buy things as cheaply as I can (though occasional massive impulse buying does occur), and I always know basically how much is in my account. Financial security is important to me. I wouldn’t go out and shank people just because it paid well or anything, but I hate being in debt, and I’d like to have something left over after paying the bills.
10. Name (and elaborate on) some of your hobbies. What are your favorite things to do outside of school/the office?
~Theatre (I’m part of a student-run Shakespeare troupe on campus.)
~Doodling (Best way to pass the time in lecture!)
~Reading (Though I don’t have much time for recreational reading during the school year…)
~Video games (Phoenix Wright=WIN)
~Sewing (Yayyy costumes.)
~Wasting time on the internet
~Watching/listening to ice hockey (Being away from my hometown team is the only drawback to going to college out of state.)
11. Name (and elaborate on) your top three BEST and top three WORST qualities (personality-related, not physical).
Best qualities:
~I’m reasonably bright. (The default answer, I’m sure, since you have to have a certain level of intelligence to keep up with all the crazy intrigue in the books.) I’m no genius—math is my least favorite subject in the history of ever—but I think of myself as smart. I’m also freakishly good at remembering random details. And I have common sense. Well, usually.
~I’ve been told I’m funny. I mean, there has to be a reason why I always get cast in comedies (or as the comic relief in tragedies). I enjoy making people laugh, be it through snark or sheer ridiculousness.
~I don’t get upset easily. Irritated or melancholy? Sure. But it takes a lot to get me so distressed that I’m a distraction to myself or others. I can usually stay relatively detached, and that makes the list because being emotional exhausts me.
Worst qualities:
~I am a chronic procrastinator. Seriously, you have no idea. I work well under pressure, but having some work ethic would be nice.
~On a related note, I’m impatient. Longterm projects are not something I can do. If results are not forthcoming, I get bored.
~I’m terrible at confronting people. I’m loath to even just go “hey, we need to talk.” When push comes to shove, I shy away for fear of hurting someone’s feelings or making them think poorly of me. Lame, lame, lame.
A Song of Ice and Fire Related
1.Which is your favorite book of the series so far? What about your least favorite?
Storm of Swords is definitely my favorite, because oh man, exciting plot development all around. Clash of Kings is probably my least favorite. Tyrion was cool, but a lot of the other subplots seemed to drag.
2.Who are your favorite three characters in the series?
This is hard, but I'm going to force myself to stick to the limit here.
1. Petyr Baelish: When I first read Game of Thrones, I thought Petyr was total amoral awesomeness, but worried that he’d turn out to be creepy. The next three books justified my concerns (and then some) but I still really like the guy. He’s so deviously ingenious, and he does it with style. Literally, because apparently he’s a snappy dresser.
2. Catelyn Stark: Catelyn interests me because she’s strong and active while still being “conventionally feminine.” I find her story extremely sad, because being a dutiful Tully woman got her nothing in the end. She has some definite flaws (favoritism much?), but they make sense with her character.
3. Sandor Clegane: I love Sandor because he somehow avoids being a gigantic woobie by actually being complex. He doesn’t aaaaangst all the time, and his moments of being genuinely caring aren’t at odds with his cynical badass persona. I do still want to give him a hug, though. And I like him with Sansa.
3.Who are your least favorite three characters in the series?
1. Tywin Lannister: Yes, he’s brilliant, but he’s always seemed a one-dimensional hardass to me. No matter how much the other characters go on about how awe-inspiring he is, I remain unconvinced.
2. Samwell Tarly: He’s a bit like Neville Longbottom or Samwise Gamgee… if Neville or Samwise were infinitely more useless and hideously boring.
3. Rhaegar Targaryen: He’s annoying from beyond the grave! He sounds like such a sparkly emo bishounen. Shouldn’t people be a little more critical of the guy who plunged their country into civil war because he got besotted with a teenager? Gah!
(There are characters I dislike more than these three as people—Walder Frey and Gregor Clegane, for example—but nobody likes them, so they don’t count.)
4.#1 Favorite moment in all of ASOIAF so far?
I can’t pick a specific moment, but my favorite subplot has to be when Sandor kidnaps Arya and they have weird dysfunctional bonding time. I was ridiculously upset when she left him.
5. In your dream-world, how would you like to see the series end?
Assuming that Margaery is secretly a master of intrigue and has been in on all of Olenna’s plots, she and Petyr would be king and queen. (Hey, you never said it had to make sense.) Varys would be Petyr’s Hand, because Varys knows everything and Petyr would probably get bored without him to scheme against. Dany will help Westeros avoid its doom, but would rule somewhere else along with Quentyn Martell. Myrcella, Tommen, and Tommen’s kittens would somehow emerge from all of this alive and be raised by Jaime and Brienne, who are OTP.
Sansa would regain her sanity and stop being “Alayne,” Sandor would become at peace with himself, and they’d reunite and live happily ever after at the Vale. Arya would get the hell out of Braavos with her eyes intact, find Nymeria, and make it to Riverrun. Then Brynden would adopt her and make her his heir. (I’m assuming Edmure will find a way to get himself killed, because he’s such a tool.) Bran and Rickon will run Winterfell once Bran gets back from beyond the Wall and Rickon gets back from… wherever he is. Jon Snow will remain as Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.
There would be no more random zombies, and UnCat and Gregorstein would go away because they are so WTF and poor Catelyn deserves to rest in peace with Ned and Robb. The wights, Others, Freys, and Boltons would all get burninated by Dany’s dragons. The Ironborn would all get eaten by krakens, except Asha. She would meet up with Davos, and the two of them would become friends and escape to more interesting subplots. After some high-seas adventuring, Davos would gather up his family and relocate to the Land of Awesomeness that is Dorne, where he and Asha would serve Arianne.
Wow, that was long. But so are the books!

Tyrell
I know I'm supposed to pay attention to sorting you but to my great shame my first big reaction was "OMGBBQ PHOENIX WRIGHT IS LOVE!" (sorry, I'm busy in the second one and I love this game so much. Phoenix! Edgeworth! Von Karma! Franziska, that is.)
Ahem, moving on, I thought you were pretty hard to sort but decided that Tyrell was the best choice. You do have some creativity going on there (Shakespeare and costumes=cool) and you have a sense of humor. I thought Martell could be a good choice too, but not as much as Tyrell. Your qualities seem to fit Tyrell fairly well.
Starkity Stark
Lannister
Despite this, I also found you difficult to sort. You've got some Lannister going on (wittiness, strong need for financial security and "paying debts"), but I'm not sure about this fear of confrontation. That could apply to certain Lannisters, but when I think of Jaime or Tywin...well, you see what I'm saying. I'm going to go with Tyrell, because I'm under the impression that they've got some of the Lannister qualities without being so very hardcore about things.
'You must wake the goddess Martell...' Oh wait, that's a video game, not a book (Martell)
No. Kidding.
As much as I want you in my house (and you'd probably be a good Martell), you're pretty clearly a Tyrell, to me.
Tyrell
Greyjoy

Anyway, at first I was surprised to find that all the current votes are for Tyrell...I was thinking Lannister or Greyjoy for you, from the attitude conveyed in the tone of your answers. But I have thought about it, and I agree that you'd do well in the laid-back opulence of Highgarden. So I, too, name you a Tyrell.
Greyjoy
Tyrell, my bell!
You've got the practicality, hate for debts and hint of paranoia that makes them people we all love. Plus, you're intelligent and cool and everything...lol.
Targaryen - Pure Old Valyria
Martell- Snakes: OH HAI! *NOM NOM NOM*
And you like to sew, which would help you fit in with the ladies of the Reach.
The fact that you hate Rhaegar makes my heart sing! Yay! Whiny little emo bitches suck.

Stark - As cool as ice
Tyrell, Tyrell, Tyrell.
Targaryen.
Tyrell. Nice to see some Catelyn love though here! :D
Unsorted
I love the fact that you called Catelyn "UnCat".
Lannister
When you get old and wrinkly, you should change your name to Olenna. It'd be perfect. Tyrell.
Stark
You've got the same Olenna personality, and that says it all, really. :D
Tully
“What if I get stuck in a low-paying soul-sucking job because the economy sucks and knowledge of the Trojan War isn’t a marketable skill?”
Holy crap. THIS IS MY CURRENT LIFE. I can't believe that people don't want to hire employees with MAs and in-depth knowledge of the Iliad.
Anyway...
I must say ditto, ditto, ditto - you are certainly a Tyrell. And I completely agree with you about Sam. BORING.
Unsorted
I was getting a Tully vibe, but Tyrell's the house for you. You're practical and scholarly. You've a taste for political intrigue and a healthy respect for yourself. Meanwhile, I'm beginning to sound like a fortune cookie or a quizilla result.
So, yeah, uh, hi.
Stark
I never thought about Tommen's kittens not surviving the series. Now I am sad.
