Thank you! I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone in thinking that. I'm not of the opinion that including things like sexual abuse is wrong in literature. Sexual abuse is real and it happens and there's no point in pretending it doesn't. It can even be a good thing if abuse survivors have a fictional character to relate to just like everyone else BUT if you're going to do that as an author, I think there is a certain responsibility to handle those characters and their situation with care which I don't think Martin has done with Dany.
